Your closing comment is spot on and is the conclusion I reached recently thinking about how much I enjoy seeing Lou and Em make progress with whatever they choose to do...
I third that! They don't need click bait they are as funny as hell and I can't wait to tune in on a Sunday. I also love Louise being very subtle in saying she doesn't film everything....I lol....Louise is a capable lady guys she built her campervan she knows exactly what she's doing....great work so far ladies, love ya both! And of course the furchildren Aj and Summer 🐕🐈⬛❤
Ladies, I just wanted to say, I dont think I have ever been happier for two people I have never met before. Im so thrilled for you both, really looking forward to seeing what you do with the cottage and the outbuildings. Well done on picking a lovely property and the very best of luck !!!
The only thing wrong with your videos is that they're not long enough......I could watch you both forever!!! I'm just dying to see what's beneath everything and find myself waiting for Sundays to see the next step. Well done to you both for all the hard work and can't wait to see the changes in the cottage.
Omg you two are amazing young girls. I’m a 71yr old retired nurse and was not afraid of hard work …I take my hat off to you both. Keep going your doing a great job and thanks for sharing. ❤
I am so honored to "know" you both. What wonderful people you are. I wish we lived closer so I could help you with the house redo. I am proud to see two women doing this work, holding your video jobs, raising the "kids" so well, get on in everyday life, plan ahead, make new friends, maintain your health, work together and show love and respect to each other. So very proud of you both. All couples should be so lucky in life to be this tight together.
What a lovely comment @Bunnyfrancis. It's so refreshing to see two positive people getting on with things & having a laugh along the way. Well, mainly having a laugh without the odd sweary rant, which has me in stitches because I'd be the same🤬🤬🤣🤣🤣 You're just a great couple
My house was built in 1907. I think it was built by a group of drunks who thought they had nothing better to do. There isn't a straight line anywhere in the house. I have 5 different eras of wiring in the living room alone! Lord! The white suit makes Emily look like an oompa loopa! Louise, you do what works for you. This isn't just about filming, it's about reno-ing a house to live in. Take all the comments with a grain or two of salt. Love ya both! Blessed Be!
I can see you having some fun with your plumb lines later on.Wibbbly Wobbly should be the name of your cottage later on.Just imagine the finished job once it's all done.Lovin Emily in her white suit.Hope AJ gets better soon.Moving that wardrobe was class"To me to you".😊❤
WOW! I found two adventurous girls doing renovations on a cottage in Ireland! Isn't it crazy how the internet gods work? We are two girls living in Georgia in the US! We adopted a sweet girl when we both were in our 50s. She is 7 now. We are renovating our house and we grow vegetables and flowers. My wife is an art teacher and I get to be a stay at home mom after 30 years as a Nurse! Nice to meet you both...can't wait to watch you renovate!
What another adventure you have started. Taking the care not to cut the daisies was a sign of your kindness towards wildlife hope you never loose this. Keep up all your amazing effort you two are very special xxx
I have only recently discovered this channel. The camera can lie but I believe I would go a long way to see a more happily married couple. Together you are a real hoot! Emily, demolition in a restricted space is usually a one person operation to avoid dropping something large on a co-worker’s head. I expect you will be much in demand as a builder’s mate. Jobs go so much faster if there is a second person to “hold the other end”, to “fetch/prepare and hand up” and to “work from both ends to meet in the middle”.
I think Louise is my unknown twin - DIY, photography, camping, all the same keenest interests. Only difference is she's way more advanced at all of them. 💪 Emily should know that even when she isn't hands-on with the obvious renovation tasks, she's equally contributing with all the essential support activity. One can't happen without the other. My housemate is like that, not so comfortable with the building tools but instead does most of the household chores and gardening, everything I'm not so good at and rather not do, and steps up for two person jobs. Even without all that, having a lovely companion to have a laugh, talk through tasks, bounce thoughts off, keep your motivation up - absolutely priceless. ♥️
I look forward to your videos every week. You guys are great at story telling , editing, cinematography, and just being real. Emily’s get up to protect against creepy crawlies was too funny. Looking forward to how the cottage progresses!
hi girls, really like the channel been watching for several years now. Have you seen the Netflix film in the land of Saints and sinners. Liam Neilson takes place in 1974 in Donegal lots of stone cottages and buildings in their traditional format anyway Best wishes hope you enjoy the film and the cottages
I admire your ambition and willpower and wish you all the luck in renovating your new home , I must admit from the comfort of my armchair it’s making great viewing
So true. Been doing some work here at my house & my mouth needs soap! Those words just slip out! Food looks tasty, Emily. And after burping we always say, "Making room for more!"
How exciting uncovering decades of history. I’d keep bits of the wall paper in a scrapbook with notes and a photograph of where you found it. Basically making a scrapbook of uncovered pieces of the house history. Great as a conversation piece for a coffee table.
Congratulations Emily and Louise on the purchase of your new home in Ireland! Based on my 35 years of experience in the health and safety industry as an Industrial Hygienist, Safety Engineer, Project Manager and Environmental Health Specialist, I have a few health recommendations. When using N95s, it’s always best to have the straps underneath the hoody of coveralls and caps or hats, one can get a tighter fit on the face seal. I would recommend using a spray bottle to mist the air while doing any drilling, cutting, chipping, hammering etc. That will knock down any airborne dust and fibers out of the air immediately. Great idea that you all are wearing safety glasses, well done! I have seen several of your traveling videos, you all do a great job! Take care and best always from San Diego, California, USA! Mike Z.
I was thinking the salt and tobacco dry cupboard could also have been a place to put dough to rise for bread in the slight warmth next to the chimney. I'm really loving your renovation work, and glad you are including little bits of history and research. Brilliant. Jo in France 🇫🇷
I totally agree with protection from creepy crawlers! You two are going to have so much fun together in this house. I love the idea of a fence for your dog! Sounds like a grand time!
Hi girls ..im an irish trucker thats been following you for a long time can i give u a bit of advice..on ur last video u were attempting to reverse the van up to ur dutch barn . What u were doing is known in the trucking world as a blind side reverse...meaning u really couldn't see were the arse of the van was heading because ur sitting on the right hand side of the van . What u need to do is known as a good side reverse..so basically drive down the lane with the drivers side on the side u want the arse of the van to go into then when ur cutting in to the opening u can either stick ur head out the window or use ur drivers mirror to see were u want to be going. Emily can stand at the passenger side front so she can see the rear corner on the passenger side and also keep an eye on the front doesn't rub the wall facing ur gate when ur cutting in . The more hedges and keek you can cut away from the opening at the gate will make life easier and also clear that ditch a bit thats facing ur gate so uv more room for the nose of the van to swing round . Love u girls ..bye 🎉
Maybe easier to make a turnaround space at the top of the drive, make adjustments to the available width at the entrance by moveing the gate back up the drive to take in the van off the road, and go in forwards. That way you'll save a lot of faffing about, the clutch a bit of wear, plus, you can beat the tractor. 🤔
Lou - Your DIY vid editing is off the CHART! There's no DIY show on TV doing better than you, and it's really inspiring to see you both going at this dream with so much energy and support for each other - and please can we see more of safety-first "Marshmemily" !! 🤣😂 All the best, every week, Rich & Lou x
I was always scared of spiders but when I purchased an old house (solo) I had to overcome those fears because I had no one else to deal with it. I still don't like them but no longer have to leave the room and can dispatch it if necessary. Good on ya Emily for getting suited up and stuck in!
For what it's worth, I like the new reno videos better than the van life stuff. I started watching a bunch of van lifers' pre-COVID videos during the lockdown because it was nice to remember there was a whole world out there still. I started to get a little tired of van life content, but kept watching those creators I liked as people -- their personalities and whatnot -- because I just like seeing what you lot are up to. This type of content is great, I like learning about these sorts of practical matters. I think the property is really amazing and the cottage is just so cool. The old building materials and methods you're having to work with, all that stuff is really fascinating. Even if you lose some van life folks, you'll get some renovation video folks to fill the gap. Don't know if you've heard of Martijn Doolard, but if not you should check out his videos. He's doing old Alpine stone cottages, so it won't be 1-to-1, but he may have some ideas or techniques that you find useful in your efforts. Great editing, music, photography, etc, as always. You're at the top of your craft, Louise!
AJ is your furry child ,his not just a dog, see Louise run when Emmerley started with hammer 🤣🤣🤣this is going to be so much fun to watch , you ladies are stars 👏👏
With Emily dressed up in that suit, all you needed was the Ghostbusters! I’m also so pleased to note I’m not the only person who bitches and swears when trying to shift something that’s got itself stuck👍 you go Louise!
We dry lined our house in France. The old walls breath. The stud work being put vertically. By using glass fibre batts with the membrane casing outwards, and leaving a small gap at the bottom and top allows air to flow. Sika tanking is the only way to "seal " from rising damp, even then the floor will still be damp. To check the floor for damp. Take a glass jar put it upside down on the floor and seal it to the floor with putty or plastercine. If you see condensation the next day then you know the floor could be an issue. It took us many years to finish ours ( now sold ) but lovely memories.
My god Louise I take my hat off to you, is there no end to your talent and knowledge? Emily, your job is just as important, the fetching and carrying saves so much time and there’s nothing better than coming back to a hot meal when you feel broken at the end of a physically hard day. Remember ‘Teamwork makes the dream work’ 😁 Girls my friend and I hope to do the same thing (though not as adventurous or brave in the building work) once our commitments change. We sadly have a 4-5yr wait but prepping all the time, I’m half way through converting her van then onto mine. Once we are free of the ties we’ll be doing the same reckie for a property to do up, work, live and eventually retire in. Your vlogs boost my confidence and inspire me to break free from the shackles of ‘yeah but you can’t do that’ which I grew up in. At the ripe old age of 54 it’s liberating for me to prove my family wrong and do it anyway! Well done girls, and thanks for taking the time to let us see how you turn your new property into your home!
Great video, talk to London Shadow removals, owned by an Irish chap, but based in Strood, Kent, for getting your stuff from the UK to Ireland, and really love that you looked out for the wildlife on your plot, this home is going to be amazing for you all xxx
Also, I think it is extremely important to do this: Delete from brain comments that don't honor where your energy is now. Love the birds!! we have several finch families here in Phoenix. We have a 20 yr running nest on my front porch. I have two that "prefer" cashews. Snobs. Lol
The renovations are already turning out to be brilliant, seeing you uncovering previous people's lives. Funny to think you're undoing all their hard work, ready to add your own improvements to the house. It was particularly fascinating learning about the salt/tobacco shelf. But the best bit so far - Emily's utterly hilarious marshmallow hazmat suit. Can we have a hazmat suit dance next week? 🤣 🤣
Ladies you are amazing, the banter between the two of you is fantastic but Louise all those beeps lmao was hilarious 😂😂 😂😂😂 Lo e you bith and nit forgetting AJ and Summer xx
So excited to see what you do with it all and seeing all of your dreams and visions come to fruition ❤❤. Don't forget to watch for fae in the gardens and forests in Ireland. Such a magical place ❤
Afternoon ladies. Another lovely video. Brings back memories of when I was in the navy living in towns and on ships. For me to move to the country in Tipperary is heaven. Like Emily driving down a country lane to get home. Ask the locals about a digger driver. Keep up the great work on the videos and home 👍.
I was racking my brains trying to think what Emily reminded me of and then I realised it was an Oompah Lumpa 😂 you guys are just as entertaining and awesome even when you aren’t doing Van Life. Great watch girls 😊
We are a gate and fencing company.. if you need help.. we can pop over.. Or if you want anything.. I'll do it at cost for you.. 5 bar gate, solid gates .. anything to help my girls 😀 xx
When I pulled the ceiling down in an old house that I renovated, it literally rained tiny white spiders...thousands of them. I have a great fear of spiders but I finished the job wearing a makeshift hat and coat made out of trash bags. That same house had a nest of big black ants behind a bedroom wall. Eventually, the house was restored and sold at a tidy profit. I salute you, Emily on the forethought of wearing that PPE!
We used to live in Tralee for 8 years always dreamt of what your doing , lovely spot of land and cottage such a great country , live your dreams , defo be watching 🇮🇪 💚
I love watching you both on Sunday. You balance out my favorite boy couple "Tyler and Todd" who are tackling building deep in the Woods of Canada, and power through what feels like an endless set of challenges, with great humor. I think you'd get a kick out of them. Anyway as a project junkie, reuse repurpose, dyi queen I am enjoyining your show very much. I would highly recommend you read a book, outloud, to each other for 1/2 hour daily. The name of the book is called "Paddy's Lament". You need to know about the history of your "new" "old" home. This book will blow your mind, and give you a deeper and more meaningful understanding of your home, land, and neighbors. I am not saying it's an easy fun read, it's not. But it is important. I am 3rd generation Irish American. In the meantime sage the house, play it some Irish tunes, breathe deep, and no more cussing, unless you want to raise the ghosts! 😅 ❤ Aloha
Fascinating to watch it all unfold and how you work together as well. I'm happy for you both to have found you little oldcottage. They are beautiful. Takes me back to 50 odd years ago when I bought mine in Aussie land. A little old wooden cottage. I'm still here working away at it, so you have years of adventures ahead. These will all be memories one day. Enjoy. 💚
Your renovation is pretty extensive but the two of you lovely ladies are very capable and doing this renovation you're actually kind of a historic explorer finding little bits and bobs of yesteryear. You're doing a great job and don't let the busy body people in the comments bother you because you are there and see and know exactly what you want and need! They only see bits a pieces and make comments about things they don't truly know. God Bless you both and stay safe! Love and respect from Tennessee
Very interesting watch. A few years back we bought an old Cornish miners cottage. My husband took all the walls back to the original stone pretty much but no idea if it’s a common thing but we found several teeth embedded in wall . Assuming some were potentially cows or horses , either that or it was a bloody large human !!
The fact that you won't cut the daisies because the finches are happy --- you are golden, Louise.
Yeah can’t take their food
🙂 I'm the same, much prefer a wild garden full of life over a tidy but empty lawn.
David Attenborough is trying to encourage gardeners to leave their lawns until mid July, because of the bee's & insects, as well as the birds & other wildlife like rabbits & hedgehogs. Nice to see others are more concerned about the wildlife & helping them🥰🥰
I don't like cutting our lawn very often because my spoiled house bunny likes to nibble the grass and the dandelions. It doesn't make the neighbours very happy, but never mind, eh?!
I have weed flowers that bloom in my yard to and we cut around them until the bloom is done then we go back n cut it
I love the fact you don’t succumb to clickbait to get views, its so refreshing! I hope you realize that most of your subscribers follow you, whether you are on van adventures or doing renovations. Interesting people make interesting content, not visa versa.
I couldn't agree more. I think that the girls now have an extended family, a very large one, who are invested totally in what they do. Your closing comment is spot on and is the conclusion I reached recently thinking about how much I enjoy seeing Lou and Em make progress with whatever they choose to do...

There's a big effort in Ireland for No Mow May. Gives the bees etc early food before there's more wild flowers in bloom.
Yeah, in Kildare a lot of the verges and roundabouts are cut less often and a lot of people are leaving a section of garden wild.
We are doing no mow May in the US in Georgia also!
Same movement is happening in the States.

@@campervibe Getting there, but I need snacks!!!!!
We are looking forward to the memories, this is a slow going project for us as well as we will still travel between
My Victorian built stone house in Scotland would have been dry lined when first built. I don't remember having any damp issues.
Absolutely fab vlog " space station " so funny thank you for sharing made my day
I love that you use the proper PPE at all times. I hate seeing UA-camrs Reno in flip flops and o protective gear. Great work Louise.
Hi girls. Uv got this. Excited to follow on for the adventure 🎉
Louise your knowledge of the building business is very professional 😊
Thanks, she does know her stuff
Another cracking video and Spag Bollie ...
You're very brave ! I'd be worried the wall would collapse! Love the critter protection Emily.
Can't wait for the next episode ❤x
I was worried but I do trust Louise 🙂
@@campervibe Louise you sound like you've really done your homework. Love that give Emily so much confidence. Great team ❤️x
This is by far my favourite renovation channel...❤❤❤
My god Louise I take my hat off to you, is there no end to your talent and knowledge? Emily, your job is just as important, the fetching and carrying saves so much time and there’s nothing better than coming back to a hot meal when you feel broken at the end of a physically hard day. Remember ‘Teamwork makes the dream work’ 😁
Girls my friend and I hope to do the same thing (though not as adventurous or brave in the building work) once our commitments change.
Prep work is very important as well so that’s not a bad thing and thank you
Its not the time it takes, you have a lifetime ❤❤❤❤
Great to see you both having a laugh and at the same time getting it done
Great video, talk to London Shadow removals, owned by an Irish chap, but based in Strood, Kent, for getting your stuff from the UK to Ireland, and really love that you looked out for the wildlife on your plot, this home is going to be amazing for you all xxx
Nice to see, the work begins! Em and Lou, love your work!
I never knew about the raydon think I might be checking that one in my cottage
Waited all week for you ladies…and well worth the wait! And might be time for Joan to visit…with the tools.
She will be coming soon 😀
Crab ragoons!!! Just down the street?! WhoHoo!!!
Also, I think it is extremely important to do this:
Delete from brain comments that don't honor where your energy is now.
I know, I love seeing little snippets into the past and maybe 💃
Ladies you are amazing, the banter between the two of you is fantastic but Louise all those beeps lmao was hilarious 😂😂 😂😂😂

It’s me my isn’t it 😀
Trying to work out the reply 😆 lol
I was racking my brains trying to think what Emily reminded me of and then I realised it was an Oompah Lumpa 😂 you guys are just as entertaining and awesome even when you aren’t doing Van Life. Great watch girls 😊
Seriously, that candle..😂
😂
I’m so happy I found you two, can’t wait to watch your progress.
We are a gate and fencing company.. if you need help.. we can pop over..
Or if you want anything.. I'll do it at cost for you.. 5 bar gate, solid gates .. anything to help my girls 😀 xx
Aw thank you, we just brought and painted gate and fence stuff 🤣🙈
heyyyyyyy em and lou loving your work and so happy for you both :)
I'm loving the birds ....no really x x
Now I get it ! She’s amazing ! ❤
Making great progress!!!!
I salute you, Emily on the forethought of wearing that PPE!
oh God the stuff of nightmares!!! You deserved every cent of that profit!
This is what I mean, I don’t want that for me 😂😂
There was something oddly satisfying about watching you guys smashing that wall!
Good job girls
You are really pushing on. It's amazing! Just one comment.................. hard hat. That's dangerous work.
Yeah the works begun .how exciting
Hello from Scotland. Just found your site. Looking forward to following your renovation. Good luck girls 😊
Just found this channel looking forward to the renovations ❤
Emily loved your little giggle at the end of explaining about having your own space..😂😂
😅 ❤ Aloha
I think we need 2 videos a week 😁 You have a lot more content to show now. ❤
Wow you two are amazing. Loving your vlogs..xx
following your beautiful families journey.. can't get enough. 😘
Enjoy. 💚
Love your channel ladies. I would save a section of that wallpaper and frame it for historical purposes. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
I think it’s so cute you made Emily her own little high chair in the van 24:20 😂👍🏻
Thanks Tony, that’s a very nice and appreciated comment indeed 😃😃
❤You are doing a great job, it’s a lot of hard work. Remember it’s a Marathon not a Sprint.Make sure to take time out for yourself.❤
Ahhh, girls... I could almost smell the dust and chimney shite. Well done for leaving the meadow to flourish xx
😀😀🌼
Fantástica blog
Very interesting watch. A few years back we bought an old Cornish miners cottage. My husband took all the walls back to the original stone pretty much but no idea if it’s a common thing but we found several teeth embedded in wall . Assuming some were potentially cows or horses , either that or it was a bloody large human !!
Me and Emily are kindred spirits I’d be in that hazmat suit to 100% lol! Hope AJ is feeling better and well done on wall 1 the journey is underway 🎉
I agree with her re bugs!!!
Lou I just love that you know all about bird breeds & the environment! Great job on the Reno so far both of you! 💜💜😻🐶
😀😀
