Machine Gun Corps Database Part 2: Interpreting the Database

In our second video about the Machine Gun Corps Database by Graham Sacker, Rich talks about the recent updates we’ve made that will help people understand the MGC a little better. He also describes how the database can be interpreting if the information is wholly known - a useful skill!

A great uncle was a dispatch rider in the Machine Gun Corps. The family story was he was cavalry as he was a groom for the Bowes-Lyons family at Glamis.
I have a picture with him next to his thoroughbred mount and the cap badge is MGC. I also have his cavalry spurs where he’d replaced the gouges with small French coins.

My cadets group will be doing rememberance sunday at a local church. It has a monument dedicated to the fallen of WW1. Ive been there myself and participated twice.

If there are any Machine Gun Corps members on the memorial, then check them against the database.
