Nuclear bombs require a synchronized activation of several high explosions to actually go boom. Exposure to fire would have most likely just caused the bomb to misfire and spread nuclear material over the crash site.

this movie is a good example of why I don't watch movies: phoney-ass Hollywood excitement that is neither accurate or actual in its detail or believability. it's good for Hollywood that they don't depend on people like myself for their revenue and vicarious accolades, otherwise they would all just have regular-ass jobs as the rest of us. to note, I couldn't make it through anymore than about 8 minutes of this movie.
While Reuben who works at the train crash site at Miller's Bend while everything is on fire 🔥 and burning, he is going to be very very hot 🔥🥵. Also, while Reuben is relocating the atomic bomb and nuclear bomb inside these boxcars, he needs to stay hydrated and drink bottles of Poland spring waters, iced cold bottles of Poland spring waters, regular water, iced cold regular water, Gatorade, iced cold cans of seltzer waters, and iced cold bottles of seltzer waters. He should go to Tom, and the other troops to get a small towel, and a wash cloth. Reuben at the train crash site needs to wet it, and rub it all over him to get him to cool down, hydrated and moisturizered. In addition to that, he can't be standing inside the boxcars or the hot train crash site with fire and flames.
The film got too much unecessary action going on. If that's how authority would act upon the event, that would be a true disaster for the country - Boom - Yey, lets move in, BOOM- oh crap, let's move out now!, Boom - Yey, lets move in, BOOM- oh crap, let's move out now!, Boom - Yey, lets move in, BOOM- oh crap, let's move out now!, Boom - Yey, lets move in, BOOM- oh crap, let's move out now!,
