Those are the factory installed 'crimp" clamps on each end of the rubber fuel hose. They worked very well for making a leak -proof connection, but they are definitely not re-useable. To be factory correct you would want to use the same type of clamps when attaching the new rubber fuel hose! The original rubber fuel hose sections were stamped in white ink with the word GAS consecutively down the length of the hose. The gas tank in your Thunderbird should also be replaced at this time.
Gauge always shows full tank. Pulled out old sending unit and plugged it in without being in the tank and moved the lever with my hand and my gas gauge would show if I had it on empty, half way or full. It works when not in the tank. I bought a new sending unit and it did the same thing when installed in the tank, shows full but the tank is empty
My sensor usually starts in the bottom of the right foot fairly simple once pushing down farther doesn’t work you get a pretty good sense that your out of fuel
Thanks for watching!
Never knew you could access that from the wheel opening. Thanks for posting this.
Great video, thank you
You're welcome! Thank you for letting me know! -Robert
