Mormons should really look at you're other videos on other churches. They're funny when they try to convert you out of Christianity to Mormonism ! They probably won't because they have been told not to even though they have a very low knowledge of other religions as illustrated by the Saints Unscripted video and polls ranking them lower than Evangelicals. Their favorite people!
I'm a new subscriber from the Philippines ❤️ ! I think what you heard from the speaker that morning is not just a coincidence but it was a reminder for you to let go the pain in your past. I am praying that you may find the truth by seeking it diligently. Please Read, Ponder and Pray about the Book of Mormon , ask God if it is really true ( Moroni 10: 3-5, ) I am very excited to watch your next videos about your journey in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints 🙏
Hi David, I'm actually the Bishop of the congregation you visited. You're right, I do have a real job too. 🙂 Thanks for visiting and if you're around again, I'd be happy to buy dinner. I'm quite curious about your other visits to other churches as well. I have friends who are of all denominations and find joy in worshipping with all of them. P.S. I am also fond of the Episcopal Church....a good friend of mine is the Bishop of the Diocese of Detroit. Blessings on you, brother.
David, I also served for 6 years as a Bishop of a ward in Missouri. I discovered the church when I was 9 years old and have had a love of Christ and his gospel from that time until today (I am 65 now) I am so grateful for the relationship I have with Our Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ! I have sought for and received so many witnesses of truth and some of these experiences have been so very powerful.... My parents never joined the church but they liked the fact that their children sought for and embraced good things and developed into loving and kind adults... I really like this series you are doing on youtube! I am confident that the Lord will bless you and reveal himself more fully to you because of your genuine search for truth....
I’m Catholic (raised evangelical)… the LDS missionaries are 100% correct about that verse in Revelation. The traditional Protestant position takes that verse completely out of context. I love what you are doing! Thank you for sharing your journey!
I enjoyed your video. I am a convert to the church. Eight years ago I had a painful golf ball sized tumor on my neck. I was set to have surgery on it later on in the week. The Elders of the church knocked on my door and told me about the church. Later that evening, they prayed by laying of the hands and gave me a blessing of health. The next morning when I woke up,the tumor was completely gone. My doctor couldn't even believe it. I got baptized and so has my daughter. I can honestly tell you that it was the best decision of my life.
How great is our God! I never get tired hearing the miracles that priesthood blessings bring. We are so lucky to have access to Christ and his priesthood.
The. Testimony I have of the gospel of Jesus Christ is my most precious possession. I absolutely know the Book of Mormon is true. I hope you will read it for yourself and ask God if it is true. (Check out Moroni chapter 10 verses 3 and 4.). Thank you for your comments. I enjoyed listening!
I respect you for what you're doing. As an LDS member, I'm so used to being mocked and attacked by fellow Christians and told Jesus isn't my savior by people who aren't even willing to listen or give an actual look into my church. It takes spiritual maturity and humility to go from church to church and seek out truth and goodness from each one with an open heart and mind You have my upmost respect, sir. As for the BoM, it can only increase your faith in Jesus Christ, or simply do nothing at all. It's worth a prayerful study and ponder. A simple verse I love is "I glory in plainness, I glory in truth, I glory in my Jesus, for he hath redeemed my soul from hell!" Trust in him and his grace at all times. God bless you, brother!
I want to thank you because you said what I didn’t realize I wanted to say. Perhaps it takes humility to go to 52 in 52. I’m not all that sure one can really digest it all, given a light scan. Well, it’s going to take an honest look at the Church than just an 18-minute vague look if one is truly spiritually available. Again, thank you.
As a fellow member, I agree. I testify the Book of Mormon is true. I also get attacked by many Christians, I also get mocked by many Christians. I am so used to the opposition telling me all the lies they believe about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jesus is my Saviour. We do believe in the three members of the Godhead; God the Eternal Father, Jesus Christ, His Only Begotten Son & the Holy Ghost.
@@latter-daysaintbatman2679 you can testify that it’s true. Test DNA, Geography prove otherwise. The same translation errors of the KJV and the Book of Abraham alone as how that JS was a fraud. His false prophecies and polygamy. No
The screaming kids being hauled away during sacrament meeting is absolutely classic and I laughed for several minutes when you mentioned that. Thanks for sharing.
So true. The husband and wife speakers at my ward today said they were both grateful to speak because it gave them a break from dealing with their 2 year old son and 14 month daughter at the back of the chapel. But taking our children to church is so very important.
I was born in a Muslim family I use not to accept Bible inside my mother's house, though I love God so much,I keep prayer and fasting to God to show me the right church and I had a dreams of two guys put on white t-shirt giving me an envelopes and teaching me, I couldn't understand my dreams but I keep seeing them until one day I told my mum about it, she said to me that God is telling me something I should pray and ask, it two 9 months I met with the missionaries and they tried to share with me the gospel and they invited me to the church I was totally surprised to see what I saw in my dream, after 11 months in the Church of Jesus Christ i decided to get baptized and I can testify that the church is true if you ask your heavenly father he will always review the truths 🙏 ❤
so you went from worshipping one pedophile "prophet" to another, even worse, to a "prophet" who was a known con artist in his day before and after he started mormonism, and was repeatedly exposed for his bogus translations (remember when he was given the forged kinderhook plates "found buried in a mound", and claimed to translate them into a mini history of a descendent of ham in egypt?) bro you have to have a little more thought and research going into things like this.
I also had a dream coming into a church that were welcoming me. I knew it was a different church from the Catholic church I attended my whole life. A few weeks later, I met the missionaries and after a few lessons i decided to get baptized. When i wad baptized, the dream can up, and it all made sense to me. The members welcomed me as a new member. God works in so many ways. 🙏
islam believes in abraham and moses and jesus. they were prophits. mohammad was a prophet. how hard is it to believe that there were prophets after these old world prophets. each builds on the other. as long as we do not violate the ten commandments we are all moving to the same place. the lds church is the closest i have found to what god intended following the old law. do no harm, leave more then you take, and love others as you love yourself and god.
I visited the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Normal Illinois. I enjoyed it and went to Sunday School too. Given the loving nature of LDS folks, I hope they are represented on the other side of this life as they are the most fair and diplomatic Christians that I have encountered. I want to go to Heaven with people like them as they love Jesus and love people.
I was born and raised lds. They might be nice but the religion is founded on by a deceptive person. That person was Joseph Smith. The organization is corrupt from the top.
@@bgiesbrecht8774 you just proved Edward’s point about wanting to be with members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint in the eternities. I can’t help but be reminded of Matthew 15:8-9 in that you have no heart. It’s all lip.
@@bgiesbrecht8774actually that would be you and made up Trinity from Constantine who preached a different gospel and burned up those that did not agree .
I remember doing exactly what you are doing today. My mother (and father, but Mom was the driving force) took my family from church to church to church looking for answers, when I was a girl in Detroit. We were eventually all baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I am now a very richly blessed member of the Church. You will be amazed at the depth and power of the doctrine, blessings and teachings of the church, if you continue to look deeper. If you do read the Book of Mormon with an open heart (which you definitely seem to have), and pray about it, you will not only be amazed at the clarifying doctrines it contains, you will absolutely be given an answer about its truthfulness.
I absolutely love reading other member conversion experiences. Mine started in 11th grade when a girl behind me in home room had a Book of Mormon on her desk. She was shy and young in her faith to answer my questions. It took me 20 years of attending other churches for 6 mis or even years to understand about faith and never finding my answers. Then finally the Church found me; the missionaries that is. I’m a member nearly 28 years now, best decision I ever made!
Watching this after announcing your membership. A great person then and a great person now. I'm glad for sharing your journey. I needed it right now in my life.
You have done well. Remember, you never need to break down or destroy what you have learned about Jesus Christ. The members or missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will never want you to loose what you have, they will show you an opportunity to add to what you know about Jesus Christ. I am so glad you have had a great experience. When and If you ever visit another meeting house and talk with the members, you will see they are just as friendly as those you have met on this trip. Thanks for visiting.
I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I love that you included us on your faith journey. Keep asking questions. God will answer. And so will we!
I am a convert. It took one visit for me to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the answer to many prayers. I talk to others about the church only because I know how I feel and believe and I want to share with others. It is then that the person has to decide for themselves.
From “Bring ‘em Young” to the “Angel Macaroni” (or something like that) you’ve come a long way, Brother. Welcome to the fold. How fun to go back and look at your first impressions of the church into which you would eventually be baptized. We love you! (And hey, now you’re a “saint” too!)
I love this channel! I grew up Devoutly LDS in Utah, but haven't been active in many years. I enjoyed your thoughts, insights, and perspectives so very much!! I feel there is a real light in you that shines through! Thank you for this video and I think the journey you are on is so beautiful! ✌️❤️
I just want to share a brief part of my testimony. I was abused as a child. I came out of it atheist. I was suffering from PTSD and demons till I was in my thirties. Then demons came to me early in the day. In that moment, I realized Satan was real, I knew he was evil, and I realized God fights Satan. And although no sound came out of my mouth, I called loudly to God for help. He banished the demons immediately. Over the next few months, the Holy Ghost guided me to the Church of Jesus Christ. I hope you continue your journey with an open mind and a contrite spirit. Study ponder and pray. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Great video! Loved what you shared about your experience. I myself was a missionary for 2 years in Chile over 10 years ago. The missionaries are a great resource and are there to serve
I’m a 29 year old member of the LDS church and came in to the church when I was about 17. The church, including serving a mission, has been a positive life changing experience for me. There’s much I want to say, but I’ll try to keep it short. You have a lot of questions which is normal. The very most important question is whether Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God or not. Every other question seems to fall in to place when that one is answered. When it comes to using water during sacrament, the Book of Mormon actually says to use wine (Moroni 5:2), however, because we believe in modern prophets, Joseph received revelation that water is okay. When Christ’s side was pierced while on the cross in John 19:34, it was “blood and water” that came out of him. Probably from His heart. In a way, water is more powerfully symbolic of His blood than even wine is. And when you read the Book of Mormon, you will see that it isn’t an add on to the Bible but rather a separate witness of Jesus Christ. 2 witness is better than one. In our local area of the church here in Alaska, there is a once Jewish man with just the Bible alone did not believe Christ was the Son of God. But with the Book of Mormon and the New Testament both witnessing, he now accepts Christ as the Son of God. Again, there are so many questions, and I personally enjoy answering as many as I can (I love to talk about religion), but the most important is if Joseph was a prophet. The fact that you are seeing 52 different churches tells me there was a need for God to call another Prophet like Joseph, but that’s just my opinion. Anyways, I hope you find what you are looking for and I’ve really enjoyed your outside perspective on the Lds church experience. :)
Loved this video! You have an open mind and an open heart. Your comments about your relationship reminded me of the relationship my Son is in and I was impressed with your Sampson & Delila comparison. I have sent him the link to this video in hopes that it may help him in that relationship. I am also a Latter Day Saint, joined the church with my wife 25 years ago and it has helped me understand the gospel of Jesus Christ which has brought me more joy and happiness than I ever thought was possible in this life. I am going to check out all of your videos. Thanks for sharing this and may God bless you in your work.
I don’t know how this video popped up in my feed but I am so glad bc having been a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my entire life, I always find it cool to see how others experience it. You made me laugh when you talked abt props to the speakers who could handle all the children crying 😂 it’s the same in every ward you go to :) we’re used to babies and children fussing 😂 and your experience there is the same as it would be anywhere in any ward in the world. That’s why I love being a member. You will find that kind of welcome reception in any ward you step into :) hope you will be back :) or try another ward :)
Glad you found it, I can only imagine how many wards have that same "bored kids" problem when the talks are happening! I'm very curious. Think the thing that earned my respect the most was the missionaries. In today's age, so many young men have no purpose and just waste their potential on video games and other means. Here, missionaries have purpose that serves God. LDS or not, all churches could learn from that blueprint.
@@52churchesin52weeks i love seeing the missionaries wherever i go. i know if i need help in anything, they are there for everyone, non-members and members alike. :) Thank You for doing a review on our church :) Nice to be seen through someone else's eyes who is earnestly seeking the gospel of Christ. :) Kudos to you in your search :)
I enjoyed this. I found the Church over 50 years ago in Finland thru missionaries and have raised my family in it. I love the closeness I feel to my Savior. I also somehow got this youtube podcast to my stuff and I am glad. Us, who have raised our kids from those bored, cheerio eating toddlers to those missionaries have a long tolerance to little ones. It has been a wonderful process and the best vehicle and organization for me and no way will I ever jump ship and deny, what has been shown to me as truth from God.
I love seeing and hearing the kids each Sunday at church. Both the quiet ones and the loud ones who need some parental help and direction. It always reminds me of myself. I am a 26 year old woman and yet I know that I am just like those children. I need the help of my father/God, and he loves me just as their parents love them. I make mistakes and I still have so much to learn, and he will help me do that. He will be there to love me even when I struggle and always has. It's encouraging to see and feel towards those children as he must feel towards me, but even stronger. And it's encouraging and amazing to realize how far I've come, as well as how far he knows I can go.
@@52churchesin52weeks you know the kids may be bored sometimes, but the gospel does sink in. I know that as a child, eventhough i was distracted by drawing or jumping on the pews, and looking at other people, I still heard the talks. They instructed me anyway like osmosis :) Though I may have looked bored and may have been bored sometimes, it did instruct me and I did learn to rely upon the Lord daily because of it, even though i was a child. :) it was very good for me. I learned reverence, I learned patience, and the best part for me was being with my mother and father for the whole sacrament meeting, and feeling that they cared for me, as they held me or let me lean on them or fall asleep on. :)
Thank you for doing this entire series. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints I love learning about other churches and their beliefs. I find that, at the core, we usually believe in the same important things. Christ is our Savior. He loves us. We have a Father/God we are trying to get back to. To follow Christ's teachings we must love, accept, and be kind to those we come in contact with.
In the early church they did use wine. However, it came to Joseph’s ears that non-members were conspiring to poison their wine before they sold it to them. He prayed about it and was told that it didn’t matter so much that they use wine specifically, and so we’ve used ever since
My fiancé is with LDS. I've always been a believer without a real understanding of what church fits me. The LDS people are fantastic though, super welcoming to me when I turned up there in shorts and a hoodie because I'm socially awkward and can't do a suit. I know exactly what you mean when you say that they are committed because I live with one! It's an experience - still on my own journey.
I had watched a couple of random videos of yours in the past. Last night I happened on the one about your baptism, and this morning found this one of your first visit. I was always impressed with the kindness of the way you presented information about the different churches you attended. I am thrilled that your journey brought you to the church and that you have felt the Spirit in your life and taken that first step on the covenant path. May God continue to bless you as you start a new adventure in your life.
I literally laughed out loud when you said the bishop gets revelation. My husband has served in bishoprics of the LDS Church. It isn’t just the bishop that asks. All three in the bishopric members ask for speakers. Also, they keep track of who has talked and the dates they talk. I just spoke last month. I should be off the hook for a couple years because I just had a turn.
David, I just have to say that you are brave! Not only for visiting so many different churches, but for sitting so close to the front haha If I were you I would be sitting near the back, but you had the courage to sit several rows from the front and be immersed in the sacrament meeting. I subscribed!
The Book of Mormon actually specifically explains that in the future we will have more books of scripture. It says that the Bible comes from the tribe of Judah, the Book of Mormon comes from the tribe of Ephraim and that in the future we will have additional scriptures from the other 10 tribes of Israel. Also, the timing of the Book of Mormon isn't actually after the bible, it's contemporary. So, Joseph Smith translated it in the 1800s, but that's a translation similar to how the KJV of the Bible came out in 1600s even though the original hebrew/greek was written much earlier. The Book of Mormon was written by an ancient civilization on the American continent between 600BC-421AD, with another small section from a separate civilization around 3000BC.
I really love how respectfully you're doing this. Kudos to you. I wish you well on your search. I read The Book of Mormon every day and it has made my life better and brought me closer to Jesus Christ.
@@52churchesin52weeks I too am a member, joined in 2006. Many comments have cleared up some of what I wanted to clear up too. I will say, we have a nursery for 18 months-3 yrs for second hour, and we have classes for 3-18 yr olds. Before 18 months the kids stay with parents, and during sacrament, the first hour, we want 1) families to hear the speakers together and be together while taking the bread and water (body and blood), and generally have a church experience as a family first 2) who shouldn't hear the talks? Who is so spiritually filled all the time that they wouldn't benefit from church? Exactly, no one, so everyone is given the same opportunity. *for many of us, the sound of children is the sound of church- we know which kid it is- and it means life in the ward *parents will often be found standing in the back, rocking children or letting children run in a circle *going to the lobby with your kiddos, turning on the speaker, is an option if parents feel the need * all buildings that I know of have a "mother's room" that mothers can use to nurse or privately feed, or for a dad to find a changing table since the men's rooms don't often have them On another note, you should be able to go to the church website and connect with online missionaries. They will gladly spend hours answering your random and specific questions. Some things are doctrine, and some are tradition. There is a difference. Please also know that what I call "progressive Saints" exist- that is me. My son was transgender and loved. I have some other queer children, they are equally loved. Never shamed! We do practice modest dress, typically. So attention is on our best feature- our brains. But we don't believe that a girl showing her shoulders or knees is sinful or "asking for it" Love this series so far
Such a cool thing you are doing! I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I love learning about other Churches as well. There is so much to our faith that can't be covered in one visit, I hope you take time to investigate it more in the future. Maybe even read the Book of Mormon and make a video series with your thoughts and feelings as you read it. thanks again!
I Love that you're respectful and willing to just listen and learn. I've seen people attend an LDS church ONLY to bash and try to prove what we believe in is wrong. So I really do appreciate your respect and willing to just listen and not contend.
We (LDS) don't generally use the word "revelation" regarding choosing various members to speak at Sacrament Meeting, but in a sense you're right! You can be sure the bishop and his two counselors certainly pray about those who give talks!
I really appreciate you learning about all these different churches and taking such a kind perspective. You don't have to have the same beliefs as others to still be kind and learn to understand them. Thank you for your kindness.
Thank you for what is a testimony to what truth and light will do for anyone who will take the time to investigate the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am so thankful for the day my friend shared the restored gospel with me and how I’ve been able to grow in greater understanding and light and help others do the same since getting baptized receiving the priesthood and getting married in the temple. I am serving a full-time mission with my wife for two years and we love it.
You did good 👍; it’s a lot of new information. Any things you got wrong are totally understandable. We love to hear honest and non-hostile reactions to attending church.
“You can’t just break away from everything you’ve learned in your life…” was your statement. A former leader in the church, Neal A Maxwell, once said to someone who asked a question similar to that “bring all you have that is good and true, which is much, and let us add to that what we believe to be the fullness of the faith, that you might have more information about Jesus Christ and his plans and purposes for all of us.” Best wishes for your search for truth.
I must have shown this clip to 50 people but today your statement hit me hard. In every one of your vlogs, this is the only one you've ever related the phrase, "information overload" You nailed it! Growth! constant and neverending knowledge. The scriptures are always yelling to learn learn learn. The prophets never stopped, the apostles never stopped. I love the experience your sharing so others keep growing with you.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience. It’s always interesting to hear about other faiths and why they believe what they believe. Thank you for handling this with grace.
Thanks for doing this. Thanks for sharing your experiences with everyone. It is a very worthwhile project for anyone who wants to know about other churches. I appreciate your honest feedback for all you do.
The video I was looking for. You ask so many questions, yet you are full of grace. You’re slow to judge and strong in your faith. This is the recipe for true conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. God is so good! He, through you, just showed the world that He has a plan for His children. God bless you, brother.
I came back and watched this after you attended General conference. I’ve learned a lot about you and you’ve learned a lot about us. I really enjoy each of your posts. I hope that when you’re done with this version of 52 in 52 that you’ll start a “Come Follow Me” podcast. You’d do a fantastic job and I think you’ll have a great audience that would appreciate your perspective. ❤
I love this video! Thank you for visiting one of our Wards! I’m happy to answer any question you have about the restoration of the priesthood by Peter, (James and John appeared) to Joseph Smith and his Scribe Oliver Cowdrey.
Hey man! I’m member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I just found your videos and I love them! You seems very genuine and cool. I love visiting and learning about other faiths too.
It’s interesting to me as a member of this church to hear how others experience this church! I’m used to hearing most of the feedback in a negative and derogatory way, so this is quite refreshing! I enjoyed hearing your experience and thoughts, thank you for not only sharing but doing so in a respectful, peaceful way. 🙏🏼 and the macaroni commented made me chuckle 😂 (Captain Moroni is my hero, he’s the boss! :)
Visiting different churches when we can is a great thing. If nothing else, it is educational and increases understanding of others. It’s nice to meet people and build connections.
My experience is the same I work at a gas station and the elders come in all the time and I just strike up a conversation with anybody and mine was with them that one of the elders had a WWJD bracelet on and said I haven't seen those in forever and he said he had an extra one and the next time they came in they brought it and then that Sunday went to church with them it is a different experience but I do like the simplicity of the service haven't had a chance to study with them but hopefully I will be able to. Great video and great idea.
@@davidjanbaz7728 The Jesus believed in by Latter-day Saints may be described as follows: "'The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it" (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith).
If you meet with the two missionaries. you're in good hands! Keep moving your feet and countless truths and insights will unfold right before your eyes!
I met with seven missionaries. No one could explain who created the LDS god with a body of flesh and bone or who created the planet he came from or the star Kolob that he lives near or all these women.... Joseph Smith made it very clear that the Book of Mormon was meant to be taken as fiction. In fact, the Book of Mormon is false starting with page one. I Nephi 1, 600 B.C., has a prophecy concerning the destruction of Jerusalem. If you know anything about the history of the nation of Israel, you will know that Jerusalem was already under siege in 600 B.C.. In fact, the first deportation had already occurred six years prior. Also, I Nephi 1, talks about the language of 'Reformed Egyptian,' a language that has never existed. (Egyptians speak Arabic.) The Jews would not be speaking any 'Egyptian' the language of their captors from hundreds of years prior. ********** Imagine finding gold plates written in 600 B.C. with the Gettysburg Address in them? Pretty amazing! *** The Book of Acts records the apostle Peter paraphrasing Moses (Deut. 18:18-19) during his sermon at Pentecost. This happened around 60 A.D. In the Book of Mormon, around 580 B.C., Nephi claims to also quote from Moses, but instead he quotes Peter's paraphrasing of Moses verbatim, 640 years before Peter gave his sermon. *** Apostle Peter (60 A.D.) The first of your videos that i watched was you getting baptized recently... so it was fun going back and seeing where it all started. Great video! You nailed the LDS faith on the head! I loved that you asked questions... so awesome.
Overload. 😂 You were trying to understand everything that it has taken me 38 years in the Church to understand. And yes, thank you. It IS hard giving a talk with kids screaming. 😂
Bravo for all your honest questions and for sharing the info you took in 😊 One clarification is the Book of Mormon was contemporary with Old and New Testaments, not sequentially after them. Keep praying reading and asking questions!! 💜 I was raised Unitarian and converted to the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 24. I’m 72 now 😁
@@TimKirkpatrick79 yes I love that stuff. My son was a crew member on The Phoenicia - the expedition intended to prove that the Phoenicians were the first to circumnavigate Africa. But unexpectedly the winds and currents carried them to within 400 miles of Puerto Rico before they could turn the ship around and head back for the Mediterranean. Our son Daniel had no interest in the church but wound up accidentally bolstering the theory that Lehi‘s family probably came to the New World that way! 😄
Thank you for your channel. i'm very interested in different faiths as well. It’s really interesting to see my own faith from an outsider perspective. As a European who has always been in a tiny minority, I thought I had a good idea of what would be foreign and surprising for others. I guess I was wrong.😂 thank you for your open mindedness. I'll be watching your videos to learn about other churches as well.
For starters, it's: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or you can just say: The Church of Jesus Christ, we own the rights to both names. Members are called: Latter-day Saints, we don't call ourselves and don't want to be called Mormons, in fact, it's a bit derogatory to use the name in that way. Good vid. Many years ago, I too went from church to church, investigating many different faiths and really enjoyed attending Synagogue, but felt there was more. I attended a Latter-day Saint church, sat in the very back row, and felt something I had never felt before, and it felt true and right. I read the Book of Mormon on a challenge and had a powerful witness from the Spirit that it is true. I still enjoy studying other faiths and learning as much as possible and always seek truth.
Appreciate the clarification. At the time of the first video, no idea and didn't even know Jesus Christ was in the official LDS name. Actually spoke with two sisters on the phone this week, and we discussed that very thing. Thanks for your testimony, this visit definitely left an impression.
@@52churchesin52weeks it's only been a problem because their prophet said they should use the full name: and they try to guilt trip non Mormons into using it too.
I love that you are visiting so many different churches. What a great way to get a basic idea of what different people believe. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ, I am always happy when my protestant friends invite me to one of their church services. I love learning about the faith of my friends and neighbors.
Hey David, this is a great journey you're taking and I've appreciated your vids. I admire how genuine and vulnerable you have been and your testimony of Jesus Christ. I hope the best for you as you continue your journey. You mentioned a few things that you may be interested to know. One is that actually most of the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are outside of Utah - only about 2 million are in UT of the total 16 million + members. And there are even more outside the US than in. You had also wondered about the water instead of wine during the Sacrament which represents the Lord's blood. The Church originally used wine, but because of a few incidents that occurred Joseph Smith inquired of the Lord and learned that the Lord doesn't require that we must use wine to partake of His Sacrament to remember Him. And since we also remember our baptismal Covenants with God while we partake of the Sacrament and how Christ's blood purifies us, and He is the Living Water, it is symbolic. And then with the revelation of the Word of Wisdom which teaches to abstain from strong drinks, meaning alcohol, the use of water for the Sacrament continued in the church to this day. The Lord did turn water to wine during a wedding as wine was an inherit tradition in weddings at the time and if one keeps it in small amounts it is healthy which is why it was condoned by the Lord then and was allowed to be used by the members of the church in the beginning. But the Lord had shown He does not require it for His Sacrament to remember Him and for the other symbolisms water represents it became the standard use for partaking of the Sacrament, or also referred to as Communion.
I've been following your channel for a long time, it's really fun to watch your first video about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! I had never seen this one before. I respect your open heart and open mind in this first visit!
9:00 Something that always amazes me is how when i'm at the pulpit, I never here a peep from the audience. I've never thought about it a whole bunch, and i've never asked anyone if they feel the same-- but to me, whenever I get up to talk the room is completely silent except for my words.
I just love hearing Christian doing their best to talk like Christian! I think you did a pretty fair job thank you so much! And of course you're welcome back anytime with more questions!
Great video David. My mother was Lutheran but converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (nickname Mormon or short for LDS) as a young adult. My Father grew up a member of that faith and so I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After careful research of my family history I found that I have connections to basically all major protestant faiths. If I continue my research I'm sure I will see my family pass through catholicism as will all of those who have a Christian background. Anyhow, as I watched your video you mentioned while you were sitting in the LDS chapel that the members showed much excitement which you understood to mean they were trying to convert you to their faith. I thought I would let you know that the church does not seek to convert but instead they invite people to experience the church themselves and attempt to live it's teachings with the belief that the holy ghost will do the converting. That may sound odd but as I've experienced the church Ive come to understand what that means. First and foremost the church considers itself Christian, believing it is the restored Church run by Christ on the earth. We believe Prophets and apostles are selected from among normal congregants by the Spirit of revelation. Anyhow, as far as conversion goes as I read from the scriptures (Bible, Book of Mormon, etc) and supplicated, and tried to live the commandments and teachings I have felt only what I've come to know as the Holy Spirit. We believe the holy Spirit manifests itself and testifies of all truth in the world. Therefore I most likely can feel the Spirit from time to time in any religious denomination. The difference with our church is that we believe the power and authority was returned to the earth by heavenly messengers (Christ's original apostles Peter, James, and John) to Joseph Smith who in turn passed on that priesthood till today. So when we are baptized we believe we are baptized by authorized men from God to baptize by authority and by power of the holy ghost which manifests (fancy word to say we feel it) upon those who are then baptized by that authority. After we are baptized by authority we have men with priesthood authority bestow the gift of the holy ghost authorizing is to feel the holy spirit daily and as much as we stay in a state of repentance as we seek it's influence. All I can say is I've experienced feeling those spiritual feelings in abundance at times in my life as I seek God and Christ. But if I turn away or sin at all I don't feel it leaving me feel quite empty. If I exercise faith I feel it. If I nurture my doubt or anger the feelings go away. It's quite an interesting experience. Because we are biological beings we all operate at various levels where some experience those spiritual feelings at high levels and some rarely if ever feel it so they learn to experience the gift of the holy ghost in the way it manifests to them. Anyhow, sorry for the lengthy post. You are invited back as much as you want. No pressure. One of our articles of faith is allowing all men to worship how, where, or what they may.
There are only two options when it comes to The Book of Mormon: It is either a true record and Joseph is a Prophet who was called to translate it. OR it is a forgery and Joseph Smith wrote it and was a con-man who made it all up. So which is it? True record or forgery? Well, let’s look into what it would take to “write” the Book of Mormon. I invite you to take the 30 point challenge to write The Book of Mormon! Here is the challenge: Can you accept it? 1. Write a history of ancient Tibet covering a period from 600 B.C. to 450 A.D. Why ancient Tibet? Because you know no more about Tibet than Joseph Smith (or anyone else) knew about ancient America. 2. You are 23 years of age. 3. You have had no more than three years of formal school education and have spent your life in backwoods farming communities. 4. Your history must be written on the basis of what you now know. There was no library that held information for Joseph Smith. You must use none. There is to be no research of any kind. 5. Your history must be 531 pages and over 300,000 words in length. 6. Other than a few grammatical corrections, you must have no changes in the text. The first edition as you dictate it to your secretary must stand forever. 7. This record is to contain the history of two distinct and separate nations, along with histories of different contemporary nations or groups of people. 8. You must describe their religious, economic, political, and social cultures and institutions. Cover every phase of their society, including the names of their coins. 9. Change your style of writing many times. Many ancient authors contributed to the Book of Mormon, each with his own style. 10. Weave into your history the religion of Jesus Christ and the pattern of Christian living. 11. You must claim that your smooth narrative is not fiction with moral value, but true and sacred history. 12. You must include in your book fifty-four chapters dealing with wars, twenty-one historical chapters, fifty-five chapters on visions and prophecies. Remember, when you begin to write visions and prophecies, you must have your record agree meticulously with the Bible. You must write seventy-one chapters on doctrine and exhortation, and you must check every statement with the scriptures or you will be proven a fraud. You must write twenty-one chapters on the ministry of Christ, and everything you claim he said and every testimony you write in your book about Him must agree absolutely with the New Testament. 13. Many of the facts, claims, ideas, and statements given as absolute truth in your writing must be entirely inconsistent with the prevailing beliefs of the world. Some of these worldly beliefs must be the direct opposite of your claims. 14. Included in your narrations will be authentic modes of travel; whether or not those ancient people used fire; description of their clothing, crops, mourning customs, and types of government. You must invent about 280 new names that will stand up to scrutiny through the years as to their proper application and derivation. 15. You will have to properly use figures of speech, similes, metaphors, narrations, exposition, descriptions, oratory, epic lyric, and parables. 16. You must invite the ablest scholars and experts to examine the text with care, and you must strive diligently to see that your book gets into the hands of those eager to prove it a forgery, and who are most competent to expose every flaw in it. 17. Thorough investigation, scientific and historical evidence, and archeological discovery for the next 125 years must verify its claims and prove detail after detail to be true, for many of the details you put in your history are still buried beneath the soil of Tibet. 18. You must publish it to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people declaring it to be the word of God and another witness for the Lord Jesus Christ. 19. The book must not contain any absurd, impossible, or contradictory statements. Your history must not contain any statement that will contradict any other statement elsewhere in the volume. 20. Many theories and ideas as to its origin must arise, and after discovering and examining the facts, they must fail. You have claimed that your knowledge had come from divine origin, and this claim continues to stand as the only possible explanation. The strength of this explanation must not decrease as time passes but actually increases to the point where it becomes the only logical explanation. 21. Your record is to fulfill many Bible prophecies, even in the exact manner in which it shall come forth, to whom delivered, its purposes, and its accomplishments. 22. Call down an angel from heaven in the middle of the day and have him bear testimony to four honest, dignified citizens of your community that the record is the word of God. These witnesses must bear the angel’s testimony to the world, not for profit or gain, but under great sacrifice and severe persecution, even to their death beds. You must put that testimony to the test by becoming an enemy to these men. 23. Thousands of great men, intellectual giants, national and international personalities, and scholars for 165 years must accept your history and its teachings even to the point of laying down their life rather than deny their testimony of it. 24. You must include with within the record this promise: “And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, He will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost.” 25. Missionaries must bear record to the world for the next 165 years that they know the record to be true because they put the promise to the test and found it to be true. The truth of it was manifested to them by the power of the Holy Ghost. 26. Over 52,900 plus competent salesman must be so sold on your book that they gladly give up two or more years of their lives to take it to all parts of the world for distribution. They not only pay their own way during these years but return bearing testimony that the time spent will remain as one of the highlights of their lives. They receive nothing in return for their efforts but the joy of having shared your book with others. 27. Your book must not only raise the standards of millions of people but do it in such a way that they become one of the great moral, ethical, and dynamic marvels of the day. They must become world renowned for this. 28. For the next 20 years, you must watch those that follow and you, your family, and the dearest of your loved ones persecuted, driven time after time from their homes, beaten, tortured, starved, frozen and killed. Tens of thousands must undergo the most extreme hardships in your presence just because they believe your claims concerning the origin and content of what you have written on ancient Tibet. 29. You must gain no wealth from your work, but many times lose all that you have. Like those that believe you, you must submit yourself to the vilest persecution. And finally after 20 years of this, give your own life in a very savage and brutal manner, for your testimony concerning your history book. This must be done willingly on your part. 30. Start right now and produce this record which covers 1,000 years of history, doing it, not in the peaceful atmosphere of your community, but under the most trying of circumstances which include being driven from your home several times, and receiving constant threats upon your life. Please have your book completed, talk a friend into mortgaging his farm to raise money to have it printed - all in 60 days. There is only one answer: The Book of Mormon is a divine record and Joseph is a Prophet of God who translated it. And The Book of Mormon a Testament of Jesus Christ
David also be careful where you go please and keep safe always…. It’s amazing what you are doing and to keep peoples eyes and ideas open I have done some study as a teenager even to the Jeová church I went Keep safe on your journey 🤍
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I find your journey fascinating and inspiring. Thank you for your open mind and respect for other's beliefs. You're welcome to reach out to me also if you have questions.
In my ward, the Bishop or one of the Bishopric will conduct the meeting, but the speakers aren't chosen right then and there on Sunday in the meeting. One of the Bishopric will contact a member and ask them if they would like to give a talk on Sunday, and the length varies because the meeting is only an hour long.
I'm really loving the open and honest way you're approaching what you are learning. As you mentioned your intension to read the Book of Mormon, I thought you might enjoy these comments... Considering the concept that members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe in a so-called “different Jesus”, I thought these comments from 2 non-Mormons (a Baptist preacher and a Catholic theologian), were relevant: An initially skeptical Baptist Preacher, Lynn Ridenhour, agrees to accept a copy of the Book of Mormon from a new neighbor out of politeness. “... he handed me a Book of Mormon. So, before I know what I’m saying, I said, ‘But sir, THAT’S a Book of Mormon!’ and he said ‘yes,’ and then I said, ‘but I thought this was a Christian community!’ ...I mean, I have a lot of bias. I grew up very with a very conservative Baptist background. And he said, ‘Oh, we’re a Christian community, but we also believe in that book.’ Well, the bottom line was simply, when he left, I took it out of courtesy. I did not get out of the first page-totally, as we say here in Missouri, sideswiped by God. When I read ‘I Nephi having been born of goodly parents,’ I knew. I really did. I knew that I was reading God’s word. And I kept looking for the weird stuff and I would read through Nephi, and then 2nd Nephi, and I did. You know, we were taught some... I call them ‘caricature’ beliefs regarding the Book of Mormon, and I did not find one thing that contradicted the Bible. In fact, sometimes I tell my Baptist buddies that the Book of Mormon is more Baptist than the Baptist hymnal -and it is in places. It really is. It’s jammed-packed full of what I call ‘cardinal themes’ of Protestantism. I’ve been invited to speak in Baptist churches and Pentecostal churches, and the way I present the Book of Mormon is essentially, that is Christ-centered. So whether or not you’re a Baptist or a Methodist or a Pentecostal or whatever, I approach it through the lens that the same Jesus that I met as an 11-year-old lad in the Baptist Church I discovered in this book. That’s my approach. It’s the centrality of the Lord Jesus Christ. I tell my Baptist friends, I feel like I’ve been born again, again.” And there’s more. Consider this interesting commentary from Stephen Webb, a Catholic Theologian / Professor of Religious Studies & Philosophy at Wabash College: “I had knowledge about Mormonism before, but I hadn’t quite realized just how Christ-soaked the Book of Mormon is. You open the book and you’re expecting history stories, but what you don’t know unless you really read it is that Jesus is in it from front to middle to end- and that the book is deeply theological. I think the Book of Mormon gives us more of Jesus Christ, not less. And I don’t think it gives us a different Jesus Christ. It’s like a supplement-like vitamins added to your regular meal. Yes, the stories are important. There are these narratives in the Book of Mormon, but the narratives are all deeply theological and they all point to Jesus Christ. In fact, every character in the Book of Mormon is either being taught about Jesus or is teaching others about Jesus...” You can listen to these comments in the documentary “A New Day for the Book of Mormon.” Non-Mormons sharing their thoughts about the “Jesus” found in the Book of Mormon. These people had always been told one thing and discovered another simply by reading it. Happy trails!
Lynn Ridenhour isn't very smart when it comes to understanding Christianity or Mormonism LOL at you using the only( fake) Baptist that thinks that way. I was raised Baptist and you aren't the only Mormon who uses his ignorance as proof. Infinite regression of gods isn't what the Bible states is what the God YHWH is as the " I am " timeless nature of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Now imagine gold plates from 600 B.C with word for word quotes from people who hadn't even been born yet? Pretty amazing! *** The Book of Acts records the apostle Peter paraphrasing Moses (Deut. 18:18-19) during his sermon at Pentecost. This happened around 60 A.D. In the Book of Mormon, around 580 B.C., Nephi claims to also quote from Moses, but instead he quotes Peter's paraphrasing of Moses verbatim, 640 years before Peter gave his sermon. *** Apostle Peter (60 A.D.) Holy Bible For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. Hey Brother David, I have been watching your videos and journey for a while and have been impressed by your faith and humility in visiting so many churches. I was elated when I heard you chose to be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ! I would love to see a video of your experiences that led you to make this decision.
Hello. I am in Colombia. I don not understand totally English but your words were very clear to me. Specially your feelings. I hope when you finish to visit your 52 churches you could see the truth in all of them in choose what is the true Church of Jesus.
I just have to say that the church now has local webpages for each building with times and a phone number listed, and they are working on rolling out a volunteer to actively manage each page. It’s our prayer that this will help people searching for a church find the accurate information they need!
A great adventure you're engaged in! For efficiency, most LDS buildings have two or more congregations that meet at alternating times with slight overlapping so while worship services are going on for one congregation, Sunday school, Primary and or the women's Relief Society and the men's Priesthood meetings are taking place in the rest of the building. David, you're a unique scout engaged in the journey for understanding and ultimately long-term happiness. Whether an LDS member or not, we're all brothers and sisters on this little planet. Polarization is the tool the adversary uses to divide us. I have discovered that learning should never end but the most solid source for validation and whether or not we should find a permanent home can come directly from the Father of our souls and creator Himself. I found that after all the research, it's up to you and Him in the final analysis. Thanks for the podcast and for your dedication to your mission. I served a 2-year mission to Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Missouri at age 19 and now I'm 65 with 7 kids later 5 grandkids and loving life serving my customers and neighbors and friends in our journey back to our real home.
"Is there room for a 4th testament? A book for latter latter days?" Yes. In fact we can buy our scriptures as a "Quad" with OT, NT, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants. (Revelations to Joseph Smith during the founding of the LDS church, plus a few later revelations) And revelation is still ongoing from our Prophet/President, and the Quorum of the 12 apostles. And we all get to hear current revelations every 6 months at General Conference. (which I saw you just attended)
I was once visited by a Mormon and it turned out that they had another Bible. Thank you for sharing this video. Very interesting to me. Greetings new customer here From PWMC Art
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints uses the KJV of the Bible for English speakers/readers, as well as the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants (more modern revelations of Joseph Smith and later Church leaders) and the Pearl of Great Price
@@davidjanbaz7728 I believe the LDS Church uses the Standard King James version, most likely from 1769. It would have been a common household Bible in the early 1800s when the Church was organized in 1830. The Church also has an edition that is printed by the Church starting in 1979 that has additional information for an index, a Bible dictionary and footnotes along with a seperate section that includes most of the Joseph Smith translation of the Bible, that was not fully completed by him.
Keep going brother...with your open mind and questions! The message of the Restoration is true...that's why we are so enthused! Focus on the Book of Mormon....if it is the Word of God.....all the other questions you have can come into understanding....thank you for your faith in Jesus Christ and what you are doing!
The enthusiasm to talk about what we believe comes natural to a lot of us. We love to talk about what we believe. Im glad you had a positive experience. There is a lot to learn about us. The correct way to pronounce Moroni is with the " i " as a long vowel as in "eye" . We place symbolic gold statues of him on the spire tops of most of our Temples. Learning more about our Temples is another great subject as well. You just did miss an Open House opportunity to tour the inside of our Washington DC Temple
@@zenda.rawlings nah not at all. We don’t worship Moroni. I think you know that though, and are trying to hurt our feelings. It doesn’t have to be like that Zenda :)
@@zenda.rawlings you worshiped an inanimate object for 71 years? Wow. That’s not even remotely the function of the Temple…. Can’t imagine you’re still active…. I know I wouldn’t be if I thought I had to worship a golden idol instead of having a personal relationship with my savior, Jesus Christ…. Are you still a member? Personally, I love the closeness I feel to my savior and to his spirit in the temple. I actually don’t think about Moroni at all, because his image is just used as a symbol of a faithful strong saint who kept his covenants with God.
Hey David, I started watching your videos last month and I really enjoy them. There were a couple last night that were so great that I watched them again this morning with my wife, who got a kick out of them as well. I hope you find what you are looking for and I know you will be a blessing to those where ever you end up. I would like to say you look really good in a white shirt and tie and would make a great Mormon (er, member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.) If you are making plans for 2023 already I did some looking and found the Columbus Ohio Temple should be winding up it's renovation in May 2023 and will be open for tours before being re-dedicated scheduled for June 4. Unlike our ward buildings, temples are only open to members in good standing to perform sacred ordnances. The open house events before re-dedication is a great opportunity for non-members to go inside and check them out. I think you would get a kick out of it. Take care, we are looking forward to more of your videos.
Hey King Z, appreciate you taking the time out to watch and leaving a comment. Had no intention of changing churches doing the experiment, but will say it opens doors that create newfound appreciation for good people you've never would have met otherwise. I didn't know that about Columbus! I was told I missed out on a different open house (think it was KC). You have intrigued, I may have to make a visit in May if that's the case.
First, I've been watching all your videos and from an introvert to another introvert (you mentioned in the last video), you are so brave! Visiting all these new churches and people, week after week, always the new guy 👏👏👏 Bravo, man. Makes me want to do the same, though it seems terrifying lol. 2nd, as a member of the Church of Jesus Church of Latter-Day Saints (mormons), I love hearing of your experience and am also dying of the hilarity lol. No disrespect. I know we seem odd sometimes lol. Your observations are so funny and true, cracked me up. I love it. 3rd, don't feel like you have to change everything about your beliefs. It is so clear that you have a love, belief, and passion for Christ and God. Our church will just build on that. Give you even more, and draw you closer to them. That being said, your conversion is not a requirement for our friendship, or willingness to answer your genuine questions. Thank you for your respect and openness ♥ We appreciate it so much
I actually found the "macaroni" joke very funny. I'm not LDS, but I am pretty confident that most LDS would find it funny also. They seem to be fairly laid-back overall as a general rule.
Thank you I enjoy your posts. FYI I wouldn’t say that the bishop gets a revelation about who will speak. The word revelation would be reserved for other experiences but I think he probably tries to get some inspiration about who to ask. (Sometimes desperation ha ha)
Thanks for watching the video and hope you learned something new.

Please Read, Ponder and Pray about the Book of Mormon , ask God if it is really true ( Moroni 10: 3-5, )
I am very excited to watch your next videos about your journey in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints 🙏

Hey, appreciate it Bishop. I am SO late on this reply with all the visits. But yeah, I'll try to reach out - would be glad to do that.
@@jeffgreen977 Thanks Jeff, appreciate the blessing and support. Your testimony is encouraging to read!
I was just released as the bishop after my five year tenure, but I'd still like to buy you lunch anyway. 🙂
❤️
Thank you for sharing- I have seen similar things in my life- miracles still do happen and the priesthood is real!❤️
Had you been sending money to Pat Robertson every month, you would have never developed the tumor in the first place.
Great testimony!
I respect you for what you're doing. As an LDS member, I'm so used to being mocked and attacked by fellow Christians and told Jesus isn't my savior by people who aren't even willing to listen or give an actual look into my church. It takes spiritual maturity and humility to go from church to church and seek out truth and goodness from each one with an open heart and mind
You have my upmost respect, sir.
As for the BoM, it can only increase your faith in Jesus Christ, or simply do nothing at all. It's worth a prayerful study and ponder. A simple verse I love is "I glory in plainness, I glory in truth, I glory in my Jesus, for he hath redeemed my soul from hell!"
Trust in him and his grace at all times.

My children are about 90% of the disruption in Sacrament. We try our best, but age+personality are certainly factors.
100% haha
That makes me so happy to hear! I hope youre doing well.
so you went from worshipping one pedophile "prophet" to another, even worse, to a "prophet" who was a known con artist in his day before and after he started mormonism, and was repeatedly exposed for his bogus translations (remember when he was given the forged kinderhook plates "found buried in a mound", and claimed to translate them into a mini history of a descendent of ham in egypt?) bro you have to have a little more thought and research going into things like this.
Wow
islam believes in abraham and moses and jesus. they were prophits. mohammad was a prophet. how hard is it to believe that there were prophets after these old world prophets. each builds on the other. as long as we do not violate the ten commandments we are all moving to the same place. the lds church is the closest i have found to what god intended following the old law. do no harm, leave more then you take, and love others as you love yourself and god.
You may not know this but the LDS church preaches a different gospel which is no gospel at all.
Thank you for sharing that!
As a member of the church I can tell you I thought "it's not macoroni, I know that... i could go for some macoroni rn" was hilarious😂
😆
Me too!
Comedy gold.
Macaroni! Hahaha, I had never made that connection before, I will never read Moroni as the same again lol
Thanks Shay for your kind word, appreciate that very much.
Time to come back dear sister!
I love watching your adorable confusion in this video (knowing how much you're learned and experienced from this time). Wonderful video as usual!
I’m so happy you joined the church of Jesus Christ of LDS ! Welcome brother. It was the best decision of my life!
Interesting perspective for a first time visitor. You did very well in understanding things. Keep it up. 🙂

Wow how lucky you are i wish if God take me there one day in Jesus name Amen ❤️
Appreciate it, thanks Kathleen!

I too am a member, joined in 2006. Many comments have cleared up some of what I wanted to clear up too. I will say, we have a nursery for 18 months-3 yrs for second hour, and we have classes for 3-18 yr olds. Before 18 months the kids stay with parents, and during sacrament, the first hour, we want 1) families to hear the speakers together and be together while taking the bread and water (body and blood), and generally have a church experience as a family first
2) who shouldn't hear the talks? Who is so spiritually filled all the time that they wouldn't benefit from church? Exactly, no one, so everyone is given the same opportunity.
*for many of us, the sound of children is the sound of church- we know which kid it is- and it means life in the ward
*parents will often be found standing in the back, rocking children or letting children run in a circle
*going to the lobby with your kiddos, turning on the speaker, is an option if parents feel the need
* all buildings that I know of have a "mother's room" that mothers can use to nurse or privately feed, or for a dad to find a changing table since the men's rooms don't often have them
On another note, you should be able to go to the church website and connect with online missionaries.
But we don't believe that a girl showing her shoulders or knees is sinful or "asking for it"

I Love that you're respectful and willing to just listen and learn. I've seen people attend an LDS church ONLY to bash and try to prove what we believe in is wrong. So I really do appreciate your respect and willing to just listen and not contend.
Sir, thank you for being respectful towards our church and our beliefs.

The Faith and Beliefs segments of the Saints Unscripted channel does a great job of answering questions like you have.
I heard of the channel after visiting. I'll take a look.
Love love LOVE this video - you’re awesome and your openness to and respect of different beliefs and people is so great! Keep it up! 🙏🏼
Great first visit!
You're not the church of Christ Jesus!
Wonderful video. I loved hearing about your experience. Keep learning.
I love your openness and your respect.
24. You must include with within the record this promise: “And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, He will manifest the truth of it unto you by the power of the Holy Ghost.”
Wow! So interesting and learned a lot! Thank you so much for sharing!
I have a very close friend who is Mormon. Thank you for this video
Thanks Carol, glad you enjoyed it.
David also be careful where you go please and keep safe always….
It’s amazing what you are doing and to keep peoples eyes and ideas open
I have done some study as a teenager even to the Jeová church I went
Keep safe on your journey 🤍
There's a few churches that I'll completely steer clear of. Won't mention here, but it just would serve no purpose.
Considering the concept that members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe in a so-called “different Jesus”, I thought these comments from 2 non-Mormons (a Baptist preacher and a Catholic theologian), were relevant:
An initially skeptical Baptist Preacher, Lynn Ridenhour, agrees to accept a copy of the Book of Mormon from a new neighbor out of politeness.
“... he handed me a Book of Mormon.
I tell my Baptist friends, I feel like I’ve been born again, again.”
And there’s more. Consider this interesting commentary from Stephen Webb, a Catholic Theologian / Professor of Religious Studies & Philosophy at Wabash College:
“I had knowledge about Mormonism before, but I hadn’t quite realized just how Christ-soaked the Book of Mormon is. In fact, every character in the Book of Mormon is either being taught about Jesus or is teaching others about Jesus...”
You can listen to these comments in the documentary “A New Day for the Book of Mormon.” Non-Mormons sharing their thoughts about the “Jesus” found in the Book of Mormon.
@@davidjanbaz7728 not everyone finds Christ in the Book of Mormon, only those who know Him.

The Book of Acts records the apostle Peter paraphrasing Moses (Deut. 18:18-19) during his sermon at Pentecost. This happened around 60 A.D.

Hahahahaha macaroni. Love it. Love seeing the first time and how your knowledge and faith increases through your other videos.
Great videos, very helpful for my spiritual journey.
Thanks, appreciate you taking the time to check this out!
@@martinsmith8337 He means the Joseph Smith translation!
And which KJV do you use the 1611, later updated ones or the New KJV ,?
Thanks for sharing brother, New friend here stay connected God bless you
The enthusiasm to talk about what we believe comes natural to a lot of us.
Yep! Kind of like a golden calf.
Not really

Well done! This was quite a feat.
Thank you for your respect and openness ♥ We appreciate it so much
You should go to Nauvoo, see the pagent, and the Nauvoo visiting center. I think you would be impressed.
Would love to hear your impressions of the book of Mormon as you go through it! I can't think of another UA-camr who has done that!

Thank you I enjoy your posts. FYI I wouldn’t say that the bishop gets a revelation about who will speak. The word revelation would be reserved for other experiences but I think he probably tries to get some inspiration about who to ask. (Sometimes desperation ha ha)
