Good video, I like that you covered the main items. In my experience and what I tell my friends is you need a gun (really anything), a tripod or bipod, and some way to call. That really it, you nailed it.

Where we are we hunt seated. Hide behind some brush or sage. Spartan Springbok bipod works very well to steady your rifle. Light & sturdy.

Central WI wooded lands. Few agricultural fields. How long do you call before taking a pause. How long should I stay in one spot. We have never seen them during the day. Started hearing them in the early evenings about 1 mile away. Near the city dump.
    Looking forward to episode 2.

Star strike nv100 is an awesome night vision scope on the budget. Not going to get you out to 150 yards but if you can get them under a hundred yards it’s over.

    Actual basics needed:
#1) Most important... Gaining permission to hunt as much good quality land as possible.
A person can have all of the gear, but if you only have access to a handful of properties, your hunting success is going to be extremely limited.
#2) A weapon that you are familiar with.
#3) Three or four good quality hand calls, that you can make a variety of sounds with.
And get practice in on the calls long before you ever make your first stand.
That's really all you actually need.
Yes, camo clothing is nice to have. But not actually necessary.
I successfully called coyotes, in the largely often treeless pastures of Kansas, for a number of years before I ever bought any camo.
Brown duck coveralls or overalls; a gray sweatshirt; and a brown duck Carhartt chore coat were what I started with.
Some binoculars are also nice to have. But not actually necessary.

@@willhorting5317 part 2 we will get a little deeper into land and what not. If you read my title it’s only about gear… But thanks for the info!

@foxf6 I understood, read the title, and watched the video.
I probably came across as an a**, but that was not my intention.
Just a senior citizen trying to help.
Especially after seeing a newby in the comments who obviously thinks that a beginner needs night vision or thermal.
I look forward to seeing part two.

Thanks for the video , very helpful for me as a newby. Could you address cheapest night vision equipment that works ? I have noticed the range in price is crazy and I want to start out inexpensive . Thanks!

@@philnaegle7144 if you are wanting to use the night vision to hunt coyotes but on a budget go with a thermal. Reliable night vision and what not will start at 4-5k. I have great luck with the AGM Rattler series for a budget thermal and you will smack em. The TS35 is extremely good for the money and if you buy used even better.

Night hunting is like letting men compete in women sports. People can’t handle the low % success so they need to take the easy way out.
