I love the k30 that's one that I've been looking for I have a 75 c30 dually that's mint but one of those gems would be so much nicer for what I'd like. Keep her clean and keep up the good work.
I saw the same truck at a wrecking yard near santa cruz .ca. Last week....in going there tomorrow...ill send you pic tomorrow after work.tgx for the content.UBT.
Same year as mine with same patina but without big dent on the body i bought mine 4 year's ago just a rolling shell and rust free body i did 6.6 duramax swap mine 2 year's worth of build i did strip it all the frame got ponder coated f/r axle got rebuild 4 wheel disc brakes put new headliner, carpet, dashpad etc all the interior and i put a/c in it i did leave the patina paint just buff it and put 3 coat of matte clear to protect the patina and now i still drive it to work everyday just as is stock 6.6 duramax. Love the content on this vids sir new subcriber here.
CLR and scotch brite the whole thing [ UA-cam CLR patina ] then hit it with a light grade rubbing compound mixed with cleaner wax and finally seal it with a good coat of wax. Had a teal OBS ford the same way.
ZEP Industrial Purple is where it at for a Fresh Rescue First Wash... soft bristle brush, spray the soap on dry, brush the oxidation loose and have someone follow you with a towel so it doesn't run down and streak. AMAZING results every time.
Just saw 3 of these on the same post on Facebook market place here in NC just as good of shape and they were white, $1500 each. If we hadn't just spent $3500 on a K5 we would have got one or two.
Get the pdr guy on it. Scuff the whole thing and clear it. Thats the ticket right there. I need to stop by and see yall sometime. Im not far from you. I'm up in Cumming.
Hate being a hater lol but im sad for the Duramax swap . Was really wanting to see a modern gasser swap like a 6.2 or even a big block 8.1 perhaps...idk there are so many of these trucks with diesel swaps and omg the maintenance is ridiculous.... oh well dude its yo ride and I will definitely tune in to every episode regardless lol. Thanks for sharing brother
It’s all good but there definitely aren’t that many with Duramax swaps. Mostly Cummins swaps. And it just fits my longer term towing and cross country travel plans better.
Duramax swap in a K30 is major surgery. Turn that tbi 350 into a 383 and reprogram the fuel injection. That's probably oxidized paint on the bed. Happens when they sit in the sun for many years.
Yeah, but i really want to see it through. And it definitely is something but we pressure washed and brushed it. I’ll get it off but never had a chalky bedside beed anything more than a quick scrub.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS gov vehicles get driven a mile at a time then they sit for a week, and typically held on to for at least 15 years or even 20 if they are reliable. We had 2 f250's that were 18 years old with 30K on them. The serial numbers were one number off.
Definitely needs its white mirrors to go with the wheels and base model vibe. Didja offer extra to pry the originals from Tony's stash and he wasn't havin' it?
I believe 91 was the only year for a trip on the odometer. My son bought a 91 Sub that had 286,xxx on the clock. You certainly have a great truck to wrench on. Keep the videos rolling.
just looking at it, that bed isn't the original. it's the only piece that isn't color matched. OG one probably got wrecked and forestry had extra beds from older trucks laying around.
Ill sell you my k20, i live in the midwest so clean ones are hard to find. My gem was factory ordered with a dana 70 rear end with posi, a 42 gal gas tank an get this.... captain chairs in the second row. Lmk if you are interested, ive been getting a parts list together and haven't ordered anything yet
I cant remember the name of it to save my life. But there's a landscaping company here in East Texas that use to have a bunch of these trucks in the same paint color. Run into a few of them in the pick and pull several years back
You were so impressed with the way the truck ran when you got it why would you want to change the engine .you know the truck worth more keeping it orginal .I'm a Chevy square box fan and I hate to see them changed
Gonna look good once you work most the dents out, then just put a coat of penetrol on it to preserve the paint and it’ll give that nice sheen look. It’d also look good with a light 60 - 70% tint job on all the windows, get that ceramic tint to help it out once you get it rollin with the A/C blowin! 👍
Hey have you changed the oil yet after all the water that was in the fuel?? Any water that gets in the oil can definitely take the lower end bearings out quickly!!! Just wondering before you go driving it to much!!
Shazam....I just found this channel. I see a new video is out so I get my lawn chair, lemonade, sombrero, and what do I find? There is already a crowd gathered, and a line to get in. Geez. I gotta pick a number.
I'd love to have that truck. I'd throw a Duramax in it and fix the body, paint it that 60s turquoise green with blacked out chrome and grill with limo tinted windows.
Where do you find replacement parts for a truck like this? I don't see listings for it in retail places like LMC Truck or Brothers. Just curious to know
Nothing quite as exciting as watching an old truck getting washed! Wow, a home run. lol
You got that right!
Gotta love the feeling of a clean classic after many years of just sitting there! Had 86’ square back in the day! This brings back memories!!!
It's true! I'm ready to get this one back going.
that old school gun rack is golden
Wish it was complete
Pulling it out of the car wash with the trees behind was a perfect place for a little edit
Definitely my favorite trucks, I own several,...right now restoring my 80 K30 Dually 3+3 Silverado.
Good choice!

Yup he bought a 3/4 ton 2wd burb
Cool video as always 👊

Take the inner door panels off, roll the windows up and knock them door dents out.. she'll be perfect

I like the patina on this but I'd like to see one with a fresh green paint job and Detroit Steel Wheels.
Can't do new paint. Love the patina

Very hard to find truck.
Take a toilet plunger 🪠 to that backdoor 🤙🏽

Yes!!! Thanks for watching
Dmax has a nice stand alone harness. That's who I think I'm gonna use. Unless my Tuner at Carversbay speed can get me hooked up
Thanks! I'll look into it.
Minty
Fresh
Looking forward to seeing the PDR guy in action on those dents.
Totally!
Nice Ol truck !
Sure is!
I'd bet the tick is an exhaust leak. Maybe the gasket at the manifold collector.
Likely!
Two different shades of green

Those miles might be original, I've seen plenty of very old government vehicles with very low miles.
Would really surprise me given the wear this one has, however, it runs like a low mile vehicle so who knows.
