To everyone upset about Matt saying it was a 74,000lbs RV... As I understand it from people who teach recovery operations, when a vehicle like this is buried to the floor pan, you calculate the pulling force load on your recovery equipment as 3x the weight of the vehicle. This is to ensure all your equipment is capable of withstanding the weight + friction of pulling a non-rolling mass sideways with a large margin for safety. I'm not a recovery expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Since the RV is obviously nowhere near 74k, it would have been nice if Matt would have explained the number, like 74k includes appropriate safety margin calculations, or something like that. Lots of comments on that figure, some people think it actually weighs that much, some think it's even heavier than that. Incredible.

He could have gotten this out (violently) with just recovery ropes. And the traction boards were not used for traction, they were used instead of piling in a bunch of rocks. Anything that spreads the load would have worked just as well as traction boards. He's not making progress, he's just endowed with more tools for the jobs and that's only because he has a bigger crew and more vehicles at his disposal. In the past, he was mostly working solo and occasionally with another person using just the Banana. He would have gotten this RV out in the olden ways if that's all he had.
