It's a healing song, isn't it? It seems there's a story to be told here; in the first song, there was an almost obsessive, nearly desperate fixation and hope towards keeping 'you', this person, close to the heart.
In this one, though, it talks about letting go, moving on, and realizing that the way that 'you' was being approached wasn't actually one that allowed a true understanding of the person, and only by realizing this was that person truly able to be 'found' and understood after all this time.
It's something that resonates with me, and I hope that whatever the story behind it, it ended in peace, the sort of peace which this kind of song ends on.

Honestly this is a very beautiful song and I feel like the lyrics can tough about anyone and how they feel.
I know this song can be interpreted in so many way but to me how I feel with it it really touches me.
It gives off alot of self discovery and life journey whether mentally or physically and soul searching.
I feel like personally this is just the song I needed and the lyrics are what I need to hear and feel I relate to the lyrics. Granite it's the first time hearing this song.
I know derivakat songs are amazing. But you know a song has done amazing and well then it touches the hearts of the audience the very first time they hear it.

this song means SO much to me. i kept listening to it and i've listened to it for a while, and i always thought it was just the music and the vocals. now i realize it's also the lyrics. i always knew they were good and i always loved them, but there's a deeper meaning for me
in my previous relationship, i was abused. i have some really bad ptsd from it. my next relationship, i was still really fucked up. but slowly and surely, i started to heal and "leave the hurricane behind me." he showed me that things don't have to be like that and SHOULDN'T be like that. i'm allowed to feel the residual pain of it, yes, but it's in the past now and i don't have to be strong anymore. he's got my back, now as my husband rather than my boyfriend, but still my best friend

It feels to me more like they're realizing that they never really knew someone they've been fixated on for too long. If you listen to Don't Wanna Lose You, Derivakat's previous original song released in March, there's this almost obsessive, desperate hope in trying to keep someone close to heart, that there wouldn't be any lengths they wouldn't go for them. In this one, meanwhile, it talks about moving on, leaving behind the sorrows and weights of the past, and allowing the ability to actually TRULY know this person.
