The first two albums weren't really crossover and just R&B and hip hop and Jermaine was using the same formula he had used for tlc making kandi sing a lot with here contralto voice like they did tboz.. Only tocha and Tamika had the voice for pop ballads

Yeah, and you could tell during moments of this performance that there was tension...especially on Kandi’s face. But their stage presence was amazing! Tocha did get the big head though...
She can sing I just always thought it was over rated. Like I really don’t like how her voice always breaks at the end of notes it’s not smooth at all. I always thought Shamari n Tocha voice are so similar. But Shamari’s voice is hella smooth.

Tamika was the dark horse in the group. Had the best voice IMO. Idk why Kandi's squeals and duck quacks were all over their albums. One of their best songs is where Tiny and Tamika lead and it emphasized the more beautiful aspects of their harmony. "All I Need" It's a mess lyrically though.
