My grandparents had an aluminum tree with the electric color wheel. They placed only reddish pink balls in it. Nothing else 😁. Thanks for the memories of magical Christmas's from my childhood.

In the 60's I grew up in Hialeah Florida. I still remember our aluminum Christmas tree with the colored rotating spotlight that changed the color of the tree. Plus we had a fake cardboard fireplace that had a light and small fan that looked like it had burning logs in it. Thanks for the memories.

I got one of these from a thrift store a few years ago, but after seeing Charlie Brown's Christmas this week, I am going with a real tree next year.

We had one in the late 60s with the color wheel. In 1978 we decided a live tree was in order. The aluminum one went to my mother in law. For all I know it could still be packed in her old place. When the last of her boys passed the house was just boarded up and it sits there. It makes me sad. Thanks for a walk down memory lane.

Either North Carolina has the most museums of any state or you are like a museum sleuth. You find the most interesting places.

I still have an aluminum tree we use every year. My brothers got this one when they were little before me I was born in 1968. I just love it.

Awesome. Were any of the aluminum trees bigger, say 6' or so. I went with a silver one this year. I could not find an authentic aluminum one, I did get a color wheel and it seem to work well with it.

I have two 6 footers, and just purchased a 7 footer. I know they also came in 8 feet, but don't know if there were any models taller than that or not.

We were there a few weeks ago. Cool little place. ( Unfortunately I added music to my video that I didn't care for and accidentally deleted the video so I was unable to re edit).

Yep, my brother has one of the originals. The color disk under the tree still operates. It is cool. The original owners have it to him. Thanks Tony for for the memories. Have a great holidays!

Thank you for this walk down memory lane, Tony. Enjoyed the background music, too. My family had an aluminum Christmas tree until I was a young teen, then Daddy decided we needed a REAL evergreen tree, so whatever happened to the aluminum one is still a mystery to me. I just never asked.

Just like video killed the radio star. Charlie Brown killed the aluminum Christmas tree.
