game of thrones chuck schuldiner near death experiences relapse records
Death has the distinct honor of being a band with 0 bad or average albums.
All are great.
They changed from record to record and still stayed true to their metal roots. Absolutely, each record is a masterpiece.
True. I had heard about this band when I was younger, but I never had the chance to listen to it. I have listened to their whole discography and I attest to your claim. Chuck Schuldiner's stood out from the rest of the death metal acts.
@Dragon Ball fans can't read, if you consider that average, imagine how good Chuck Schuldiner was.
if you think about it Death is a Supergroup band Chuck literally wanted the best death metal musicians to join him in creating masterpiece after masterpiece
I think Scream Bloody Gore and Spiritual Healing are pretty average but every other album is pretty damn good imo
Anything from Death is good for me. Death never made a bad album. Thank so much !!!
Never made a bad song, also ;)
evilash1970 I agree. Because they’re the Gods Of Death Metal And are the creators of the genre still going strong since 1987 when they released Scream Bloody Gore. Plus I even know they’re one of the heaviest metal bands in the world.
I rate them 10 out of 10 in the death metal genre in general.
Facts
Honestly I was telling my roommate about how I like every DEATH album & every song on the albums.
@@markdemars7044 heaviest no... but they are the best in terms of songwriting. Without the need to offend others what other bands try to do outside blasphemy stuff.

Firstly I myself am a hip hop finatic, I love most hip hop artsist from 80s to today , Kool G Rap, Nas, Pac, Big, Mobb Deep, Black Moon, Sean P, Jedi Mind Tricks, Necro, Ill Bill, Dre, Snoop, MC Eiht, Dmx, Rass Kass, O. C. Wu Tang, Doppelgangaz, Omniscence, Cormega, Drake, Cube, Big L, Camp Lo, No Limit, Geto Boys, Main Source, Khadafi, CNN, Immortal Technique, Kodak Black, Lone Ninja, Twin Perils, MF Doom, Lost Boyz, Masta Ace, Em, Mac Miller, Godfather Don, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Redman, Cypress, A Tribe, De La Soul, Bronson, Scientifik.... I could be here all day litterally naming my favourite hip hop, but a few years ago I heard the band death and I totally fell in love with not only the group but all metal genres especially Death/Thrash and Black Metal - Death, Napalm Death, Burzum, Dark Throne, Sepultura, Obituary, Slayer, Venom, Possessed, Behemoth, Morbid Angel, Pantera, Black Sabbath Cannibal Corpse, Sound Garden, Megadeth, Kreator, Pestilence, Candle Mass, Bathory, Deicide, Exodus, Metallica, Hell Hammer, Celtic Frost, Maiden, Mayhem, and again the list goes on... I just wanted to express that you can truly love both these genres and others along with each other,, also I love reggae, house, classical, Country, etc..Thanks for reading lol.
Nice!! Rock on dude! Huge metalfan all my life, but i enjoy lots of other genres as well.. Classic rock, jazzfusion, classical music, hiphop/triphop, blues, pop, psychedelic rock/trance, techno, traditional/folk, industrial, singer-songwriter etc. Etc... true love for music trancends genres and categorizations. Cool you also discovered your love for heavy music! 🤘Cheers!
Im a big metalhead i could sit here all day and name hundreds of bands i love, but im really into other genres too like Folk (traditional music and the newer classification that acoustic down to earth music gets), indie music, 70s and 60s country, and a big fan of classical, and ambient music (Dungeon Synth and dark ambient mostly), but never been a huge fan of Hip hop. As you can see, im mostly a man who loves real instruments, aside from ambient music, and loves when the artists themselves play said instruments. And when im not, im either looking for something with great lyrics or some great instrumental music. However, i always like trying new music, so if you could recommend me some good artists, that'd be great.
@@shapeshifter-theamorphousg3264 would like to add that music also transcends language as well, i love listening to different genres in different languages especially, traditional and Acoustic genres which give the language the biggest spotlight. I think Russian is my favorite to listen to metal in, French my favorite to listen to acoustic indie in, and Norwegian my favorite to listen to traditional in.
Welcome to the club, buddie
CHECK OUT GATECREEPER THEY SHRED

Voice of the soul just makes me want to cry. It's a beautiful song
Dude, Death: The flesh and the power it holds is best. And i can recommend Dream Evil: book of heavy metal too.
Fuck yes Dream Evil !!
Yes! Flesh and the Power it Holds has great meaning!
a diamond of a song.. just fucking masterpiece.. chuck is god
Voice of the Soul by Death is the best thing that happened to humanity. Listen to that
This is not hyperbole.
RIP Chuck. I saw Death in Madison, WI in the '90s. Great show.
I saw Death at Waldrock the Netherlands in 1991!
Most of the Death songs actually make you cry. Also goosebumps.
Such pure and innovative compositions. ❤
I don't know if most Death songs make you cry. Perennial Quest tho... I've seen a comment under Perennial Quest on UA-cam, something to the effect of "Women cry at the ending of Titanic; men cry at the ending of Terminator 2; metalheads cry at the ending of Perennial Quest." And it feels like it's true
finally Death! very important band, you are not done yet tho!
Death - Crystal mountain
Death has such a wide soundscape that just 3 songs wouldn't cut it. In my opinion he needs to do full album reviews of Scream Bloody Gore, Human, and Sound of Perseverance to get a true scope of Deaths key musical points in they're journey. Beginning, middle, end. Truly an iconic band that deserves to be immortalised.
Man there's so many good songs..... 10000 eyes should be on that list. In fact their last 2 albums are masterpieces.
@@xBlueAutumnx I'll never understand why some people hate on their last album...
@@hayden_h7645 that was one of the first albums that really got me into metal. Plus that cover of painkiller is insane.

@@timematters800 so old school, I like that
Human is a pillar of Death Metal culture, because Schuldiner put something new with a lot of influences. Each song is a step to something higher, to reach some spatial spheres with "Cosmic Sea". I discovered this record in 2011, but I still find something new in it, and I especially love how "See Through Dreams" conducts by this final far scream to this incredible piece of art that is "Cosmic Sea" !
I definitely recommend 1000 Eyes by Death
Hell yes! My favorite!

RIP Chuck man, absolutely legend and such a cool and brilliant guy...
Thanks for this one Alex ! I'm so fucking happy to see Death here ! And my second favorite song by them :) (My favorite one is Spirit Crusher)

Rocing jeans and a t-shirt, still more metal than anyone

I remember when I bought the Scream Bloody Gore album back in 1987. I told my friends that Death makes Metallica sound like Bon Jovi. They all thought I was crazy for listening to Death. All I know is that I was hooked from the first chord.
Excellent reaction Alex...as always!!!

Some more amazing Death songs to react to!
Painkiller (Judas Priest cover)
Bite the Pain
1,000 Eyes
Destiny
Painkiller cover is not bad, but I can never listen to a cover of that song and not wish I was listening to papa halford belting it out
Their cover of God Of Thunder is sick too
@@xlepermessiahxx4144 to each their own. I much prefer the Death version
finally someone who lists as his favorite some "not conventional" death's best songs, though the idea of death's best song is quite vague, since they did a shit-ton all of them with high quality. 1.000 eyes is rarely listed for example but is surely, not my favorite but one of my favorite. Destiny is awesone too, but i like taking for example ITP, a song that i didn't understood at all for a long time, then it grew in me and now i see why chuck named the record from it. Few people name also Perennial quest
@@martinopas 1000 eyes is in my opinion their smartest song. Kind of insane how it was written 26 years ago and yet the subject matter feels more relevant to today than any time before. I agree as well, Destiny and ITP are criminally under-discussed. Honestly everything from that album (save The Philosopher is underdiscussed)
RIP Sean Reinert. Amazing drummer who played on this album 😥
Another band who was at a different level in 1983 was Mercyful Fate
Too bad King pull the plug with this band. At least we still have King Diamond.
Andy Larocque from MF played with Death at one point

@@MrSUPERTWINKIE totally agree with you bro. The solos in that song are incredible
For me its Without Judgement that takes the title of best Chuck solo
@@Zwellop it's probably one of his easiest to play solos tbh
Dude I was so excited when I saw “Death” in the thumbnail. I’ve been asking for “Voice of the Soul” for a year and I though this was finally it.
Don’t get me wrong “Lack of Comprehension” is a badass song, but “Voice of the Soul”....
Chuck wrote that as he was dying, and you can hear the agony and anger and acceptance. It makes me cry still, after 20 years.
Same here 😔❤️
Me too! That whole album is unbelievable. So beautiful. All their music is beautiful though.
He wasnt dying when he wrote it. After that album, he made another album called 'The fragile art of existence'.
@@TheReincarnatedDeath from his other band Control Denied which was basically a new band he created to essentially replace Death in a sense. I think the record label (Nuclear Blast I believe?) wanted one last death album so Chuck agreed & created Sound of Perseverance. That’s basically their “book end” album under the Death name.

As you can see, anyone suggest different songs. So you can understand how amazing is this band.
IMO, Individual Thought Patterns is their peak, and one of the best metal album of all time.
PS: please react to Entombed: Left Hand Path
Symbolic is their peak
@@ponyslaystation9180 I prefer by far Individual, Human, and Perseverance
@@HateMich Well symbolic is their best rated album and peak of progressive death
Or Carnal Leftovers
While all albums from Death are great, I always found myself enamored with Chuck's style married with Andy LaRocque 's genius guitar playing, perfected by Steve Di Giorgio's fretless bass and Gene Hoglan's drum mastery. Death in Individual Thought Patterns was on cheat code mode. Chuck was able to form a band made of Gods.
Chuck had immense amounts of composing imagination - each song after Human or so is an adventure, you never knew what the next part would hold. He was taken too young from the music community, he obviously had so much to offer yet. Check his Fragile Art Of Existence album where he lets another singer take the vocals and he focuses on composition and playing, you will be thoroughly amazed.
When I first listened to Death I was surprised how progressive they were. I ended up liking them way more than I expected as a result (Sound of Perseverance is one of my favorite albums of all time).
It's such a good album.

i feel you on that man. On days where everything's annoying me, something bruuuutal just seems to help get the frustration out.
Bro! I first saw Death play at the Afterdark Club off Mangum in Houston back in 89 or 90 (Dopn't recall, been a while). That club closed many moons ago, though. THe opening band was named Devastation. So, yeah, had to go to a show with the featured bands being "Death and Devastation". Insane show.
I worked at After Dark when Death played in '90 and I was able to see many great bands in the 2 years I worked for Ali and Emmy...
Death, Sepultura, Napalm Death, Fates Warning, Flotsam & Jetsam, Helstar, and Kreator just to name a few.... Good times man.
