Chilling and haunting. Wish they would have kept this in the show. I know they wanted Mal to be a bit more upbeat but they really needed to keep this in. Lots of parts that are vital to the story. Very good vid this is. Browncoats never forget the battle of Serenity. Serenity Valley a place you can never leave. Your mind stays there til the day you die. A ship like Serenity will also be with you til' the day you die.
I thought the next Serenity movie should be a Prequel called, "The Battle of Serenity". Mal and Zoe at the ages they are now reliving (narrating the film) with flashbacks of the battle with younger versions of themselves. Anyone think that's a good idea? LL 🙋🏻♀️✝🇨🇦❤ 🤠
I cant believe after the war was over that they left the troops bleeding and dying for an entire week just so they could negotiate a peace treaty! They didnt even send in help for the wounded!
I wouldn't be surprised if part of it was the generals trying to negotiate their ways out of court martial. Losing to the Alliance, they just wanted to escape jail; and for that, hundreds more died unnecessary deaths.
Beware an old man period. They've a lifetime of experience, little left to lose, and no matter how kind they are in daily life, they switch to an evil disposition before you can say "Old Timer."

I don't think so? The show talks more about this. He was still a Sergeant after the war; he was upgraded to Captain since he owns a ship. Badger makes light of this, because he feels Mal still has that NCO mentality; which, he wasn't wrong.
@@ajdominguez1002 If Serenity was the last battle of the war than the Browncoat army was disbanded and there would be no promotions or ranks for anybody. Similar to the Confederate Army in the US Civil War. Some Confederates later joined the US Army and may have kept their ranks, especially if they had served there before the war. But in Mal's case, he never served in any military force after this war, and his title as captain of Serenity is not a military rank, but rather his job description as the owner, operator, and master of a civilian freighter, same as if you buy a speedboat and take your friends out for a ride on it makes you the "captain" for legal purposes.
Yikes, as evil as the Alliance can be. They kinda just left them. If the Remake doesn't suck, maybe they could over-throw the Alliance. But maybe have someone like the Operative replace the old Alliance?

That was a deleted scene from the "Serenity" two part episode. It's on the DVD. You can also find it on youtube.
First time seeing this deleted scene, it changed my entire outlook on The Battle of Serenity - I had no idea it was so brutal.
