  • Dollar Tree has been stepping up their Crafter's Square offerings! Some new products hitting shelves include vinyl, transfer tape, etching cream, crafting tools and more. After many Dollar Tree trips, I was able to score some of these amazing finds.
    In this video, I'm going to be reviewing and testing the new Crafter's Square removable vinyl, permanent vinyl, glitter vinyl, etching cream, tools and transfer tape. While for $1 all of these are great finds, I do have my favorites (HINT: Glitter Vinyl is a must) and ones to avoid (say no to the Dollar Tree weeding tool). Do you have a favorite product? Let me know in the comments!

    • @lynnbehnke6910

      @@Rosamarianv I started with the rose gold glitter vinyl. The first four inches wouldn't stick to its own backing. No matter how much I taped it to the mat, it slid around. After I wasted that first section (and lots of time) the next four inches cut pretty well. I was doing monograms and was able to use the letters as well as the negative space.

    I’ve been doing some experimenting with Dollar tree vinyl as well. It definitely does better with larger, solid objects. The big downside I think is the vinyl barely sticks to its paper backing. I found weeding to be very difficult. I want to love it and will keep at it.

    I envy you folks having a Dollar tree that actually stocks the variety of products I see tested. I've never seen the small scraper or transfer tape at multiple local stores to me. They do have permanent vinyl, I find it OK, and recently found the weeding tool, after I bought a Cricut one. Still great video as a new Cricut uses I wonder about the cut settings but now need to try Washi to see the results.

    Your review has hopefully helped me solve a problem! I was recently able to pick up some permanent vinyl from DT, but they didn't have any transfer paper at the time. My Cricut transfer paper was extremely difficult to lift off my DT vinyl design after I placed it on my blank - possibly because the DT vinyl is so thin and the adhesive on the Cricut transfer tape is so strong. I think I'll try the DT options for transfer tape next time - if I can find it. Thank you for your reviews! I didn't even know DT had transfer tape!

    Have you tested how long the glitter vinyl holds? When I cut my vinyl, if it's too small the pieces will come up as I try weeding. When i touched the ones I messed up on, the adhesive seemed gone. But when I finally managed to cut and weed a design and tried transferring it onto a transfer tape, it decides to stay on the backing. These glitter vinyls are giving me a headache! 😢

    in my experience (using vinyl setting and regular pressure) with intricate lettering, the Dollar Tree vinyl would not stick to the Cricut Transfer Tape. I don't know what the issue is, but it just doesn't work for me. It's easy to weed because it's thin, but a nightmare to transfer. I also had tearing in my lettering, so good to know that lessening the pressure SHOULD help.

    I am new to Cricut and have an Explore 3. The transfer tape without the lines that I just bought is horrible with their brand of vinyl. I can't get it to release unless it's on their glitter vinyl. It is so thin that it is hard to work with without it folding on itself. The only setting that I can cut it all on is the window cling setting.

    It should have been tested with more detailed cuts only because i have heard lots about how this vinyl does not do well with detailed cuts such as lettering etc.

    • @jerrygrimes8813
      @jerrygrimes8813 2 роки тому

      Exactly. I came here to say this. I did a design with the permanent black, intending it for a glass-etching stencil. But the letters were impossible. Any small detail, like the counters inside of O, P, or A, just popped right off of the backing material when weeding. It's thin, but if doing large scale wall art, the removable material would work fine. I'm not sure what to do with the permanent material. It might work for car stickers, but I'm a bit skeptical. And again, fine details won't hold to its backing very well.
