Neversoft was such a special studio, every game they made had such a unique feel while still feeling like a "Neversoft game". The 90s feel of most of their games, not to mention all the little details, secrets to unlock and secret areas to find. They are one of the best studios ever🤘
I love how they kind of acknowledge that this game is an achievement and it absolutely is. Not the greatest game ever, but tons of charm and the first 3D Spider-Man game.
I picked up on that. “We’ve got something that’s really fun even just to move the character around.” “Getting spidey from building to building had to be fun.” Then also Easter eggs like the Baxter building, which in Insomniac‘s game seem to be mostly inspired by Rocksteady in that Rocksteady wasn’t putting actual cameos in the Arkham games but they could put props and locations to hint at a bigger universe... but clearly Neversoft got there first in some ways. Even back then it was obvious that the potential of someone who swings around in NYC like he’s Tarzan beating up dudes for a game was big and you just need to get the fun factor to work.
That's because they really *did* care when making a Spider-Man game - and I hope that Insomniac will still show their love, soul, heart, passion, etc. With Spider-Man.

This game and the 2nd are soo good, spidey carisma is on point, rino romano saying tose quips is hilarious, the easter eggs and other marvel characters show ups, the 90's animated show charm, stan lee as narrator, i dont think people fully understand what a gem those games are.

I mean, it's a good costume but no. The movie suits look way better. Spider-Man 2 is my personal pick, but TASM 2 and Homecoming are great too. TASM 1 is... ok.

I can't believe that after all of this web swinging debate from the PS2 Spiderman 2 now re kindled by the new PS4 Spiderman, they would address that very same issue and state that they did it on purpose

This game deserves a remake for every platform.
Spider-Man for PS2 was pretty much a remake of this one. You had similar chase scenes, moves and overall design.
