Just finished installing these steps on my fifth wheel, absolutly amazing. They are solid as a rock. I too chose to go with four steps rather than the three that were on the existing steps and they fit perfectly. The only change that I made was to prep the screen door ahead of time by shifting the door 1/4" up on the hinges and removed the weatherstrip at the bottom of the screen door. That gave me the required 3/8" clearence that the steps require under the screen door without cutting the bottom of the door. And I had to notch out the screen door frame where the flanges of the stairs hook the flange of the rv door frame (this keeps the stairs locked into position when retracted in to the rv). Other than those minor mods installation was a breeze ! Thanks so much for the suggestion and the very helpful and detailed video !

I was just commenting to my father that we needed to do something different with my fathers fifth wheel steps now that my mother is getting up in age and is finding it difficult to navigate on the lose flimsy factory steps. Put mine on a year ago. Love them. Donated my old set to a buddy. No need to waste gas hauling the old steps around. Made a nice sheet metal cover for the hole and covers it nicely.
I installed these steps a few months back, and we love them. I did have the screen door bind up a little but I took off the little piece of rubber off the bottom .
Those steps are awesome. I’m a 320 pound man and these are fantastic. Morryde has come out with a double step for units that sit lower to the ground with two steps. Morryde came to our shop last two weeks and demoed them for the dealers and wow. The guys knew their stuff and hay quick answers. No checking on anything. So looking forward to having these on our camper. As well as the heavy duty shackles and grease bolts (wet bolts).

After a lot of searching for alternatives I bought the little giant 3 safety steps. They are sturdy and are like house steps. They fold up for storage. After my electric steps wouldn't go back up at 5 am when we were leaving on vacation I had to literally cut them off.
What perfect timing. I have been researching travel trailers recently. I have narrowed my list down to three. One brand has these steps available from the factory as an option. Now that I see how easy it would be to install them if not available from the factory, it becomes less of a concern. Thanks for the video.
Love the new steps. I have these on my fifth wheel and i what we do is put some 2x4's supporting the last step into the rv because what we found was walking up and down the steps over a period of like 3-4 months caused the threshold to bend and when we flipped the steps up to travel, the door wouldn't close with the steps in. I love these steps and i'm not complaining about them, it's just something i noticed about them.
Great mod , I would pull out the old stairs and install a storage compartment there for just those things like you just mentioned about cleaning the stairs . ie whisk broom, microfiber cloth cleaner etc .

These steps are ok until you are in a tight spot. These steps are ok until your campsite is not level, ( steps can’t reach the ground.) These steps are ok until someone closes it withe screen closed,( bends everything.) These steps attached to the latch with very thin gauge metal(frame). Then these steps are not lined up right and lean excessively in the rig. Also latch no longer works right,( won’t latch positively). So when a salesman with a no it all attitude who have never camped in his life is selling you snake oil, don’t assume you are going to be getting something great. It does have a solid feel, but if you are not 300 lb. and don’t want to swing these long heavy steps at every rest stop, then just get Lippert s 4 step folding steps. They are used on Heartlands Landmark, ( nice rig)!
Our 2018 Jayco Pinnacle 36KPTS came with the MORryde Step-Above system. At first we were not sure we were going to like them, but after using them just a couple times we absolutely love them. Very stable, no more carrying an extra step with us due to different ground levels, and most of all my Wife even with her Nero-muscular condition has no problems getting in and out of the Fiver like she did with our old unit with the 3 step system. One thing that I am not sure of is our system has a gas assist shock that keeps them from crashing down if you lose control of them when deploying or stowing. Don't know if it is an option or specific to Jayco. It really does work well.
Quick question we looooove our steps like this but after little less that a year all the screws riped out of the particle board floor what to do now to keep the screws fastened down
Just installed the steps super easy they have a new variant of this I Purchased the three-step model works great no issues. Looking into the more ride storage box now because I’m removing the steps next
Another great upgrade is the MoRyde cargo tray. They come in various widths and lengths and sure make it a lot easier to reach things, such as power cables, water hoses, etc. Mine can slide out either side of my pass through. I had my dealer install mine before I picked up my coach as they are a tad heavy (about 100lbs for 33”x 88”).
WAIT! Before you cut the screen door, have you tried playing with the adjustment on the feet? I have those same steps on my Montana and what I've found is that when I pull my trailer to a new location with the feet still adjusted out for the previous location I was at, the screen door and sometimes the door itself will rub and not close. It could also be from the trailer not being level too, or just a combination of the two. Pretty much that flat sheet metal that bridges over the seal plate might be kicked up just a little, but it'll be enough to keep the door from functioning. Just something to try if ya didn't already.

This was the the first upgrade I did to my Mesa Ridge TT. Love them. Didn't have to modify a thing. 15 minute install. I did notice you did not install the outermost 2 screws on the hinge plate. The inside screws holes are elongated to help with placement and alignment. My instructions called for the outside screws to lock down the stairs.
Great upgrade!. I didn't realize install was so easy with those. Just remember to deduct 35lbs from your available CC since you didn't remove the factory steps.
Keep in mind, any dirt on the steps will end up inside. So Maybe good for those without kids or boondocking . And doing lots of boondocking the exterior fold steps are the best for us. When we camp long term I have supports to help with any bounce and less stress on the camper.
Great. I've been trying to come up with an idea for steps for my extended top van, but not came up with anything I was really satisfied with. But this is great. I don't know if I will buy them, but no big deal for me to make some that are adapted to my van.
No doubt they are very solid. However some folks find that when they park on a site with a concrete pad / patio, the steps won't go down far enough to close their door because the pad is 2 or 3 inches higher than the ground the rig sits on. So, the work around for that is they have to ramp up the tires on that side of the RV to make it tall enough for the steps to go down fully. Also don't forget to sweep them off before you put them up, or the dirt gets dumped onto your floor.
We put on the Torklift Glosteps as we feel they are a much better step. We don't need to pull ahead out of our barn to deploy the steps plus my wife says no to the steps being inside
Added these steps to a 2019 Clipper Cadet. STP-201...fit was just right, very stable. Read instructions carefully because of the 2 different hinge styles.
I added led lighting to my steps and it really makes a difference. No blind spots when going down as there are now no shadows! I don't know how to add a picture of my steps to show how they work. I was at the Hershey show and showed a picture to the mor ryde people and they were very interested in what I did. sent them the photos but they never responded.
This was by far the best upgrade we did to our 5th wheel. We are full timers so they get a lot of use. We have never had a problem with them. Our 5th wheel has two doors but we only replaced one set of steps because we were worried we might not have clearance to lower the steps in some situations, but it has never been a problem. So we plan to replace the other steps soon..
I was surprised they didn’t have a spring/shock built in to make it a slow open/assisted close and some sort of light option that would come on when the door is opened.
I looked for these as standard equipment for our new Cherokee TT. Thanks for providing a good review and recommendation. I like these so much on our main entry I am going to install them on our second door.
Interesting video. Is There A shock assisted model? It doesn’t look very heavy, but much like a truck tailgate, it seems like one of those quality of life things that you just release it and let it drop.
Love the steps. My doors have "friction hinges" struts. I love them. But will have to remove them permanently if I want the steps per morryde website. Thanks for the video. Now I need to make a hard decision. Steps or struts. Any suggestions???
Are the friction hinges the same as the no slam doors? They are saying they will not work with this? I have a 2018 Sundance Travel Trailer, I would like to purchase these but need to know they will work first
I had to majorly adjust the side latches which was no big deal but they didn't even grab the door frame like they should. I adjusted them as tight as I could without them rubbing when lowering or raising.
I'm sure you know, but Moryde came out with a zero G steps, you can let go of them and they will not fall on you. I see they have moved the feet back, which was a great idea. The old steps were a child accident waiting to happen. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
It's amazing how this modification is great to the modifier without ever being used. I would say hook the trailer up to your truck, take it out and use it a few times and then come back and tell your viewers if it is as good of a mod as you think its going to be.
The vertical metal on the top step blocks the factory light on my Bighorn. I put LED strip lights on the frame of the trailer. I bought the lights and controller on EBay for about $15.00. Clean the frame with alcohol. Get some Scotch double edge foam tape from an auto parts store. Don’t trust the sticky on the light strips. I wired the controller to the switched side of the battery disconnect switch buss. Be sure to observe correct polarity.

What is the round object near the door handle? A camera? If so do you have a link for that product? --- These steps need to come stock on the newer units, very nice to have for adults, parents and kids... we have 2 on our toy-hauler, Great product.
I am a really big guy, what is the weight rating for those steps please. Also with the screen door, it is aluminum and you can cut is with your table saw if you needed to.
I was thinking about winter. You will have to de-ice them completely before you fold them up. The warm air in the camper will melt the ice and make a mess.

This step came with our new travel trailer. Wife and I have mixed feelings on it. Different brand. Three steps. Wonder if we could use a four step. We always have to extend the feet to the ground. It is, yes, rock solid.
I'm going to check there website. I have an older 2007 cardinal when you open the door on the 5th wheel it's has like a step built into the floor. Curious if they make a system that will fit mine
I just installed them on my 2008 Cardinal. I had to raise the screen door on the hinges (no big deal) and shave down the lip on the bottom plate of the door. That gave me the clearance necessary. My wife loves them.
Question: Are the steps easily removable via pins, etc., in case one wants to use a custom patio, etc., such as might be used at a long-term stay situation. Thank you in advance for your answer.

LOL the dirt issue is no issue at all, just sweep them off. I'm still leaning towards these. Probably will pull the trigger soon. Very simple upgrade.

Great ide, except you cannot access the storage compartment when the stairs are down. BUT, I store my leveling blocks in there.
Once the snow melts in spring and I can get to my unit I'll be looking to do this as well. Nice upgrade.

Dog paws/nails get caught in the first type of step. I saw a dog paw get ripped really bad. Great upgrade.

I luuuv mine. The rock and roll of the trailer (Bighorn) is virtually gone when someone goes in or out.

MORryde says you need 8” of interior clearance with these, with the optional handrail you need 33”.

Put a horsehair type mat in front of the steps to catch dirt, small rocks, mud, etc.

The weight rating for the StepAbove is 500 lbs. This is probably a lot more than the factory steps, as these steps actually land on the ground.
You can also remove the old steps and get the MORryde storage box for about $125 for a little extra storage. Complete setup is about $400.

Is there anyway the stair case could fall inward while on the road? I only boondock with ATVs in the RV and the last mile of road is often harsh.

Nice, great video. Can you tell me exactly what the distance is to the end of the steps are when folding up or down from your trailer? The reason I ask is because I store my RV in a covered area and I'm wondering if the steps will hit the side of the barn when folding up or down. Thanks
This step came with our new travel trailer. Wife and I have mixed feelings on it. Different brand. Three steps. Wonder if we could use a four step. We always have to extend the feet to the ground. It is, yes, rock solid.
I'm going to check there website. I have an older 2007 cardinal when you open the door on the 5th wheel it's has like a step built into the floor. Curious if they make a system that will fit mine
I just installed them on my 2008 Cardinal. I had to raise the screen door on the hinges (no big deal) and shave down the lip on the bottom plate of the door. That gave me the clearance necessary. My wife loves them.
