Would you take a commission for something like this? I would love to have a battlebots remote that didnt jack my hands up every time I used it. Bonus points if it was shaped like a basic old Nintendo controller or something like that. I have zero technical ability but love these toys.
Sorry no, I dont have time to take on commissions. Honestly by making this I was hoping hexbug would see it and do something similar, there's definitely a market for it
I have an issue with my battlebots. I was wondering if you have the same issue. When driving them around, sometimes they tend to stick to the last command becoming unresponsive, turning non-stop .. I don't know if the issue is with the controller or battlebot.
I've seen it once or twice, usually batteries or bad signal. So replace the batteries, and make sure you arnt using them in an area flooded by IR light (such as in the sun)
Does anyone know, will the Hexbug BB controllers take Full 1S voltage at 4.2Vdc? Is it possible to run a small USB charging BMS board and 3D print a extended lower controller case?
Probably not, 3.3v electronics are sensitive to voltage and can die easily You'd need a Low Drop Out (LDO) voltage regulator to ensure a constant 3.3v supply But with an LDO it should be possible to run a controller on a lipo
That would be the hope, but I don’t think I have ever found a micro/small 1S BMS with a on board ~3.3V output reg built in. Can stack modules...but the hope is to miniaturize where possible. Thanks! Where can we find the pistol grip Rx like yours? Who manufactures that? @@TeamPanicRobotics
Yeah I like this a lot! Great stepping stone between driving a toy and driving a proper robot
where did the donor controller come from?

@Team Panic totally understandable. Ill keep poking them on twitter from time to time beacause a pro controller is absolutely needed.
I need to figure out how to interface those Hexbug controllers and bots with Arduino. Imagine what you could do with continuous IR control!
Should be do able, I just didnt do it that way in this video because it would have been a full video of coding which isnt super interesting
@@TeamPanicRobotics No, it's not.
Also I really like that song you used. I have it on an SD card in my other computer.
Time to make this for my dad.
This is utterly brilliant! Well done, sir!
Thank you!
Clever! 🙂
Can you do a video on channels 3 and 4 too?
This would work well with the new Hypershock hexbug coming out

@@TeamPanicRobotics thanks, I'll try that.
Hex bug could make a set of this controller and sell as ultimate controller pack ir something like this, would sell a Lot i think
I think so too!
A "pro controller" could do really well
You should enter a bot for antweight anarchy :)

I. Need. To. Do. This. I have spider fingers :p
I makes it them so much easier to drive!!
His hands aren’t big tho
Yea that's a serious upgrade. These controllers are terrible.
