    Have you been to courtyard in front of St Paul Church. Also the church has plenty of actor memorials? It was the setting for Pygmilion. And inside hasmemorials to Dame Edith Evans, Charlie Chaplin, Noel Coward, Gracie Fields, Stanley Holloway and Vivien Leigh

      Steven Cassidy That is the most peaceful part of Covent Garden. The rest is noisy and overpriced. I lived in the area for 10 years.

    What time should one visit covent gardens? I am thinking of visiting in the morning at around 8 am but then figured the shops would not have opened that early. What are your thoughts?

    • @loveandlondon
      @loveandlondon  6 років тому

      You're right, they wouldn't be open at that time :) When they open depends on the day. But you could have breakfast first!

    Hi Jess, do you think the markets in London are tourist traps with overpriced items or they are a great way to get a local experience. Thanks!

    • @loveandlondon
      @loveandlondon  7 років тому

      Hi Jen, the ones in Covent Garden are likely to be a bit more expensive than smaller, more local ones because they are hosted in one of the busiest areas of the city. Have a look and see what you think, you don't need to commit to anything of course! There are also lots of other markets to check out.

    I love visiting London and Covent Garden is my favourite part. I usually go there every time I visit London and have something to eat in the Transport Museum cafe. Many, many years ago, before I came along, my mother lived in Floral Street just round the corner from the Royal Opera House.

    Our Europe trip got cancelled this year due to the pandemic, but the silver lining is that it gave me more time to research before we try again this coming July (fingers crossed). I'm so glad that I came across your video- Covent Garden looks fantastic, with some real character to it, which is what we're hoping to soak up during our stay. Subscribing now.

    Also that row of telephone boxes are the (relatively early) K2 boxes dating from 1926 as opposed to the more common K6 boxes which came later in 1935.

    If you could speak a little more slowly then people from other countries (foreign tourists) would be able to listen more easily and follow the subtitles. It is very fast.

      @@loveandlondon I didn't know you could do that. Now it's better. I need it for an English lesson and when it's so fast the students get frustrated. It's a really nice video, by the way.

    This was so helpful! So I'm going to be staying at the Seven Dials Hotel in Covent Garden when I'm in London in April. I went back and forth on whether to stay there because I could get a larger room for less money, but I heard that's just a really neat place so I went ahead and booked it. After watching this I'm so glad that I did!

    Hi Jess, would you recommend purchasing a 3 network sim card for all you eat data? I'll be coming from Australia and will be travelling to Paris and all over Italy. I read the SIM card has free Int roaming, so I assume the data can be use in those countries too.

    • @loveandlondon
      @loveandlondon  8 років тому

      Hi Mino! I was actually just looking at this the other day, but from the website I couldn't tell if you could get the free international roaming on PAYG, also it wasn't clear to me what the allowance was, and then I noticed that local calls/texts were expensive once you were done with your allowance. I'd see if you can call them and ask to clarify how it all works for PAYG. Otherwise, not sure if you've seen this video I've made about using your phone in Europe? ua-cam.com/video/WJjwEqUrrF4/v-deo.html Sorry, I know I haven't been THAT helpful!
