@@assassinmastr7313someone wise (Prolly someone who talked to big E) said once "there is no coincidence, all is woven to intermingle and reach something"🤷🏻♀️
Ironically enough, this game is set shortly after the battle of Eden and the extinction of the Nephilim. At this point, the Human race was brand new and the game’s story ends with the Council culling humanity after Lucifer corrupted us with the Animus (I personally think this culling might have been the great flood in the story of Noah’s Ark, giving humanity a second chance after removing the worst of the corruption). You’re still right though. In Darksiders 3, Strife disguised himself as a Human and hid among us in Haven after the Apocalypse. Instead of revealing himself when Fury turned up, he instead got pissed at her dismissal of Humans and eventually inspired her to protect them at the end. It certainly seems Strife is the most human of the four.
To be fair this style works for him. He is a gunslinger not really a melee fighter. Yeah he has swords but hes main weapon are the guns. The only way I can see them doing a game with him as a protagonist would be if the gameplay was like that Deadpool game.
After War kills Astarte: "there... was nothing more to learn from her." Strife: "that was... whew War listen... about the things she said..." War: "whatever secrets she bore, I'd sooner hear them from your own lips." Strife: "someday, I'll tell you everything." War: "someday, so will I." That interaction is what let me know that deep down all the horsemen care for each other.
I had a lot of fun with Genesis, and I don't think it would have been nearly as interesting without Strife in it. Being the wise cracking, joke cracking, sassy son of a gun to go along with War's serious personality made for some really good moments between the two. I know the gameplay might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I think they did a good job for a spinoff title. Not saying it was perfect but they did try something different and I think it was fine.
Oh, dude, YES. This is Darksiders Genesis, a spin-off of the main Darksiders series. @@65firered Yeah I have to agree. @@blueripper1558 Usually in character design, a mask is there to signify that the character has something to hide. Strife and Death both want to distance themselves from their past identities so much that neither of them shows their face since they became Horsemen. War and Fury don't seem to have that same level of disgust or guilt at their past actions. That sort of identity crisis just isn't there with them. There's no narrative reason to incorporate masks into their designs.
I understand the need to differentiate the horsemen and not have them all be extremely serious and while it is growing on me a little bit it is quite jarring going from Wise Strife in DS3 to Witty Strife in Genesis. Unfortunately I think they leaned a little too much on the latter, his wittiness makes him too much of a cliche. The only thing making him unique from the other “witty gunslinger” characters is his backstory. I hope that they give us a transition of witty strife into wise strife if they still make him his own game. Don’t get me wrong keep a little of his charm but have him mature and become more wise, the seeds have definitely been planted with Genesis and his guilt for humanity’s suffering at Lucifer’s hands and hence why he acted to protect them in DS3
