i am not from the hood (nor claim to be) but i have been to jail (not prison) a couple times and some of the closest friends I have (to this day; and loyalty is everything to my relationship with them) are piru bloods from Newark/Paterson whom I've befriended during short stints in county jail yet grew to be some of the closest people in my life...
I can say without question; these "dirty blood members" members from the hood = among the most interesting, intellectually brilliant & absolute genius at deductive reasoning/cognition & memory learning...and I work with Jewish lawyers (among others) on Wall St. -- so I know a lot of very ignorant yet to their credit, very genius; yet still so dumb people in my life.
These individuals are brilliant innovators...egregiously misunderstood (which is just another negative they flip (no pun intended) into a positive by playing the fool & using & taking a page right out of Sun Tzu's playbook by having everyone not "know thy enemy" or in this case...anyone whose not with you is against you and is an enemy. They quite honestly run an organization without red tape in a cold, ruthless, meticulously calculated manner that rivals the KGB/CIA/FSB/MI6 (arguably even more effective) because of no red tape.
I've grown to learn & understand quite a lot about the gang culture from my friendship is over a decade old and these two cats are real ride or die piru's from Paterson/Newark who have quite literally saved my life in an incident I'm not willing to discuss (not at this juncutre) yet the point I"m making here is that these "dirty bloods" (especially, lower-middle class predominately African American/Hispanic--- though primarily it was Black not Hispanic that ran things ((as Ado said in the vid)) the gang culture has nothing to do with crime....from what I've seen first time it was a way of life.
I know people say that shit all the time but "way of life" is literally "the only way to survive" and if our legislators understood that; they could form militias as long as compensation and mutual respect were arranged through proper negotiations.
During WW2; the U.S. government hired & paid millions of dollars to the Italian Mafia to protect the docks/harbors (fishing/trade vessels, etc.) from German U-Boats that were lurking around the coast of the Atlantic from as far up as upstate NY roughly 100 KM off coast they had a line of submarines firing torpedoes that arched all the way down past Flordia, curving into Cuban where their base was stationed.
This was something our government went through a great deal of trouble to keep classified; it was a huge embarrassment to war effort & they didn't wanna lower morale. But the truth is, without gang culture; (albeit Italian, though the similarities & values are almost identical) then the U.S. might've lost the war.
Morale of the story: Life is complicated asf.
