Thank you so much for the contact John. I loved the QSO it was such a pleasure talking to you and I hope we make it again. Keep that coffe cup filled lol 26NB88 Maxine x
That’s so cool!!! I actually made contact with Southern Ireland yesterday. From the state of Maryland from my Mobil. Just a cobra 29 with rfx95 and a 102” whip so cool
When I moved here in 1986, before the winter set in I set up the 30 foot tower and a 4 element horizontal Yagi. I only had a converted TRC-457, but the European stations thought that I was a Big Gun! That was a fantastic QSO, no interference or fading static. The SFI jumped up from 151 to 177, so it's Happy Days on the bands!
@@MowerJunkie Yea, it is multiplying your signal what,at least 27 times!!! 200 x 27/ 5400 plus watts. And its FULL WAVE!!! That's equal to a 6 element yagi.
British people are usually some of the nicest people to converse with. Great skip connections. I keep telling everyone that a good clean radio with good coax and antenna doesn't need 5000 watts behind it. I live in a tight neighborhood and I don't want trouble or headache. I can talk about anywhere I want as long as conditions are right and not bother a soul. Down the road a guys running massive power on a GP and I can get over him barefooted with beams. All he can do is clip my ears a little.
Absurdly strong DX reflection, in cities there is no such signal at a distance of 3 km at a power of 2W in AM. The sun is going crazy, it's powerful. Good health to you.
I bought one of those radios run it in my truck talks d x like a charm. Got 2 pill behind it. Turned down to level 10. N p c is on. You motivated me to buy one 73s 151.
You had a Trophy Day for sure. I was floored when I heard Andrew and I about fell out of the chair when I got the contact. It was an awesome day for sure. ✌✌
@@MowerJunkie Yes, the first contact into Russia. It's always fun to catch a new country and I figured Russia would not be very high on the probability scale and to think he was worried about his English. lol ✌✌
Hi John! Your DX contacts sound better than some of my local contacts! Very quiet receive! Amazing! I run a V Quad and I love it! Enjoy your V3 Quad! 73! 325NJ
A lot of times it's just conditions. I noticed a lot of skip has been traveling north and west. Sometimes skip gets you and sometimes it works for you. Also trees and buildings, power lines ECT. If you relocated I'd find a clear spot with 360 clearance as far open as possible and remember quality coax and antenna. I'm sure you know but it does make a difference. Good luck 73's
Great signals John! I was hitting Texas at 8.30pm local yesterday and skip was rolling until 10pm!! Did you get the amp fixed? 73s 176 Chris in Scotland
It was the same way here, I shut off my radio at 11pm, and skip was still going. My amp is not fixed yet. I'm using a 2 pill that I forgot I had. Take care Chris, 73's from 151 SC.
No, the amp is not fixed yet. about 3 years ago I bought a 2 pill amp that I put into storage, and forgot that I had it. it's half the size of my bigger amp......But it's getting the job done.
Great contacts John. What frequency and what time of day was this? I know the skip was rolling hard in my area this weekend and I wasn’t able to take advantage of it. 73’s from 979 NW Iowa in the mud duck raptor truck operator John wavin’
Wow. In 50 years of C.B. radio operation I have never heard anyone from Russia or South Africa. That new antenna must be awesome.
Really? How is it possible?

No, I prefer the Radioddity QT60, it has more power and features than the QT40.
