I know we're all mostly here for the jokes because Mr. Sunday Movies is a comedy channel in superhero cosplay, but I would genuinely love to see more videos documenting stuff like this. James is good at writing and narrating them and I didn't know this at all before.

Actually, if you'll remember correctly, J. Jonah Jameson bought one of those suits fair and square from a grbage man, but then that menace Spider-Man swung in and stole it.

James' real name... Jeffrey Glenn Gustafson, this video is him asking to be forgiven having since done his time for his crime.
The info on the suit at the beginning, wasn't too long at all! It was informative and lent context.
Of course what James doesn't tell us is that Gustafson stole them at the behest of Nick Mason, for reasons unknown.
I think this is the best video i have seen in the channel so far. The narrative, the suspense, all the information digging... Just fantastic, and the nordVPN sponsor joke was the cherry on top it completely got me

Whoa. I know (or knew) Jeff. I worked in the prop collecting industry at an auction house and he's still very involved with collecting. He and his son were really into horror props.
I had no idea about Jeff's reputation until another coworker filled me in on his history. It always kind of blew my mind he was still trusted after that.

When I was a kid back in the early 80's my best friend's grandad was a security guard at the BBC at he often 'acquired' old props and bits of costume from shows like Dr Who, Blake's & etc for his grandson. At the time I think he told us they he'd retrieved them from skips after they'd been dumped by the productions but in hindsight, well who knows....
I prefer the duo with Maso ofc, but these solo vids come off as such fantastically psychotic rollercoasters and have such a freakish charm of theyre own 5 STARS *****

I remember when all this happened. It was all over the news for a couple years. In retrospect Sony should thank them because it gave them a ton of free publicity. So much in fact that the general public believed it was a PR stunt until the people involved were arrested 😂

What they don't tell you is the story of the Great Corn of Coblin Suit Heist. Originally, Willem Dafoe was meant to play Corn of Coblin, but because the only suit created was stolen, they decided to cut their losses and change the character to the more simple Green Goblin.
Man I loved the breakdown of how they made the suit. Id watch a video just of you explaining how they brought the suits to life in the movies

It's a hard balance to strike, on one hand you want it to be believably built by a broke teenager and on the other you want it to look good. I mean have see those old "official" Spider-Man suits Marvel would rentout for cons and parades and stuff in the 90s that were actually spandex? They looked like shit.

The odd thing about the suits made for these films is that they were TOO good. It kinda took the viewer out of the film when this down on his luck teenager suddenly has this incredible looking suit.

I really wish Gustafson had like a giant treasure trove of Hollywood Super Hero relics. Along with his Batman and Spider-man costumes, I wish he had like Thor's Hammer, Superman's Cape, A Green Lantern ring, an Arc reactor, maybe an Infinity Stone or two, a Batarang, Captain America's shield, Wonder Woman's lasso. All in a big super-villain style display room. Glass display cases, mannequins wearing replica gear(until he gets the "real one" from a set), wall mounted weapons. I wish he had been that instead of a weirdo black-market reseller.
