Virtual Analog Synthesizers are pretty amazing, and the Modal Cobalt8 is an interesting addition to that. Virtual oscillators. All that subtractive synthesis. Modal is in the line with Moog, Behringer DeepMind, the Behringer MonoPoly, the Behringer Poly D, the Novation Peak and Novation Summit. The Polyphonic synth vs. the Paraphonic - this is a big debate. It's why these virtual analog synths are an attempt to make fully polyphonic more attainable on a smaller budget.

Mmm...I'm mixed. It's pretty good. Some neat features. But it's also a bit wonky with the layout. Like that screen, being low like that, if often blocked by my hand trying to turn a knob. And the knobs just feel a bit weak and inaccurate. So...idk.
@@PinkBuddhaAcademy- The Modal app is a neat feature to play with too. Despite its quirks it’s a lot of fun.
I'd love to see an argon8 play through if you ever got your hands on one.
I thought about it...but wasn't impressed enough with this one to try the Argon

Any reason why the audio in this video is mono, rather than stereo? This synth can do some really interesting stereo effects, but they are completely lost in this video.
Lol...don't remember. It was a while ago. I think I messed up something when recording the audio.

I'd personally pick the Peak.
