I normally play on hurt me plenty but the ancient Gods dlc part 1 I think final boss fight I tried to go im to young to die and I still can't do it. I'm trash

When I played the Ancient Gods Part 1 I had to turn the difficulty down from Ultra Violence to HMP. The DLC is tough, but if you keep trying and push yourself you’ll get there. Good luck on any current/future playthroughs

It makes them a massive difficulty spike on the lower difficulty levels while the difficulty curve is a lot smoother on the higher difficulty levels, hence people playing on higher difficulties just plain not understanding what people who are playing on lower difficulty levels are complaining about.
Map awareness and movement. It's hard to emulate this if you don't know the map. You can switch dodge etc, but most common problem is running into a wall...

In a way it actually kinda is, don't you think it's kinda weird how he never ran out of ammo even though there's not a single thing to chainsaw? It's more tomfoolery than just spawning in 20 Marauders, it's also making it so his ammo always comes back to him even without chainsawing.
To be fair, Bry still came close to death early in the fight. As for his method, it is actually fairly simple though it does require quite a bit of skill in the movement mechanics. The majority of the time he was either in the air or on elevated platforms, which kept him away from all the wolves and made him more difficult to hit with the throwing axes. From there, it was just spamming aoe into the main pack while singling out stragglers to pick off.

I mean, they literally don't understand the point. 1 marauder means thinking fast, 2 means thinking faster, 20 is thinking at a light speed. Meanwhile those who deem marauder slow down the fight just fail at the first step. To be fair, dark lord fight, being a big marauder, is indeed very slow and mostly uncalled for, but that's true about TAG 2 in general.
Fun fact: In doom 2016 (and presumably Eternal) it was programed into the enemy AI that they become less accurate the faster the player moves to encourage a mobile 'push forward' play style. Additionally to prevent the player from getting overwhelmed by attackers the governing AI only grants attack tokens to a few of the enemies on the battlefield at any given time. You can see only 3-4 marauders attacking at any given time and because the player is always moving and strafing almost all of the attacks miss.
is way more complicated, there are some "attack token", and shared between al mob, and a clever system to decide who can have those, and thus actually attack. There is a big talk from one of the main developer in some AI talk and is crazy good, it explain basically how the monster ai work piece by piece
That type of shit have to be removed, when you don't figure out that the game is coded that way, for example You stay in a place waiting always a zombie spawns at your back and attacks you, the game in an old school fashion should be more fun. At least Doom Eternal, gives a single player feeling of an arena shooter for single player

I've always thought that the Marauders themselves aren't actually particularly difficult, it's just that you first fight one in a room that feels way too small, which was likely done on purpose.
Marauder fights in the open are far easier once you realise you can just evade what they do, but the first fight is enclosed with the weird skeleton assholes. Definitely harder than subsequent encounters
I know I'm late as hell but anyone seeing this comment don't give up you got it all you have to do is learn the super shotgun ballista combo which isn't that hard to learn I'm currently on the ancient gods 1 in after doing campaign and tag 2 on un
2 marauders can be thwarted if you get them to attack at the same time. Super shotgun them when they’re close together then grenade/ballista simultaneously
To be fair, iirc, the Super Gore Nest Master Level throws them at you in the room just after the big exterior central room right ? It's a small cylindrical room with 2 monkey bars ? Much more challenging. A lot of what the player is relying on here (rightfully so, that's the best way to take on that many marauders) is navigation, and navigation is much more limited in the room you mention. It's possible but much harder to do evade and gnaw at their health little by little !

I’ve been repaying doom eternal recently, and legitimately marauders are like the easiest shit in the world. I make no exaggeration when I say it takes me longer to kill a tyrant than it does for me to kill a marauder. Like, just dodge their attacks and hit them with SS -> Ballista when they flash green? It’s so goddamn easy.
And that’s not to mention the meta strategies you can use to kill them in like 5 seconds flat (I.e. super shotgun to stagger, immediately shoot 2 grenades, then shoot 2 barrages of lock on missiles and boom, dead marauder.)
Let’s be honest if it were lore accurate he’d be ripping them apart with his bare hands and even using their axes on them and he would even use his guns

Games journalist say that Marauders require you to slow down to fight them and yet this is some of the fastest DOOM gameplay I've ever seen.
I mean, they literally don't understand the point. 1 marauder means thinking fast, 2 means thinking faster, 20 is thinking at a light speed. Meanwhile those who deem marauder slow down the fight just fail at the first step.
To be fair, dark lord fight, being a big marauder, is indeed very slow and mostly uncalled for, but that's true about TAG 2 in general.
The Marauder moves just as fast as you. If anything, it picks up the pace when there's more than just him.

Fun fact: In doom 2016 (and presumably Eternal) it was programed into the enemy AI that they become less accurate the faster the player moves to encourage a mobile 'push forward' play style. Additionally to prevent the player from getting overwhelmed by attackers the governing AI only grants attack tokens to a few of the enemies on the battlefield at any given time. You can see only 3-4 marauders attacking at any given time and because the player is always moving and strafing almost all of the attacks miss.
So they are programmed to be scared of you. The only one they fear is you indeed
is way more complicated, there are some "attack token", and shared between al mob, and a clever system to decide who can have those, and thus actually attack. There is a big talk from one of the main developer in some AI talk and is crazy good, it explain basically how the monster ai work piece by piece

That type of shit have to be removed, when you don't figure out that the game is coded that way, for example You stay in a place waiting always a zombie spawns at your back and attacks you, the game in an old school fashion should be more fun. At least Doom Eternal, gives a single player feeling of an arena shooter for single player

I've always thought that the Marauders themselves aren't actually particularly difficult, it's just that you first fight one in a room that feels way too small, which was likely done on purpose.
Marauder fights in the open are far easier once you realise you can just evade what they do, but the first fight is enclosed with the weird skeleton assholes. Definitely harder than subsequent encounters
Nah the Taras Nabad marauder was wayy harder for me because it was surrounded by other demons

I died 20 times on the Super Gore Nest master level where the throw 2 marauders at you. You have my upmost respect.
I know I'm late as hell but anyone seeing this comment don't give up you got it all you have to do is learn the super shotgun ballista combo which isn't that hard to learn I'm currently on the ancient gods 1 in after doing campaign and tag 2 on un
2 marauders can be thwarted if you get them to attack at the same time. Super shotgun them when they’re close together then grenade/ballista simultaneously
To be fair, iirc, the Super Gore Nest Master Level throws them at you in the room just after the big exterior central room right ? It's a small cylindrical room with 2 monkey bars ? Much more challenging. A lot of what the player is relying on here (rightfully so, that's the best way to take on that many marauders) is navigation, and navigation is much more limited in the room you mention. It's possible but much harder to do evade and gnaw at their health little by little !

I’ve been repaying doom eternal recently, and legitimately marauders are like the easiest shit in the world. I make no exaggeration when I say it takes me longer to kill a tyrant than it does for me to kill a marauder. Like, just dodge their attacks and hit them with SS -> Ballista when they flash green? It’s so goddamn easy.
And that’s not to mention the meta strategies you can use to kill them in like 5 seconds flat (I.e. super shotgun to stagger, immediately shoot 2 grenades, then shoot 2 barrages of lock on missiles and boom, dead marauder.)

This is like watching someone play one of those old 90s doom wads with tons of enemies.
Imagine being a marauder and seeing this Demi god flying around dodging everything and taking out your comrades one by one.
I haven't seen a fight that's so chaotic and also, at the same time, so easy to follow.
