Mendota Ranch is a working ranch in Canadian Texas. Established in 1907 and owned by the Abraham family since 1994, Mendota Ranch operates a commercial cow / calf operation, and raises working ranch horses and cutting horses. Jason is all so the inventor of Brush Bullet a new and easy way to control unwanted trees.
Brush Bullet was designed to target all unwanted plant species. After application of one Brush Bullet per 3’ of tree, Brush Bullet only requires 3/4” of rain to dissolve. Once dissolved, Brush Bullet is absorbed from the roots of the targeted plant, stopping its reproduction. The targeted plant will begin to decay within 90 days.

Alder, Ash, Aspen, Balsam Poplar, Birch, Black Cherry, Catclaw, Deerbrush, Dogwood, Elm, Hickory, Juniper, Locust, Oaks, Persimmon, Privet, Sourwood, Sumac, Sweetbay, Sweetgum, Tallow, Wild Cherry, Wild Plum, Whitebrush, Whitethorn, Willow, Yellow Poplar.Single stem plants. Multi-stemmed plants such as Mesquite, Huisache, Multiflora Rose, and Red Berry Cedar (Juniper). Smutgrass. Woody plants such as black cherry, blackgum*, dogwood*, elm, hawthorn, hickory, oaks, red maple, sweetgum and sumac and more.
Brush Bullet is a game changing herbicide. Industry costs for cedar tree removal can cost over $500 an acre. Using our Brush Pod Universal Applicator, Brush Bullet can be applied by air using a helicopter or other aerial platform such as drones. Using this method will save you hundreds of dollars per acre, leave zero footprint and stops the plant from reproducing once Brush Bullet has been absorbed. Read the label and apply only as directed.
On average, a helicopter using the Brush Pod Universal Applicator, can accurately apply Brush Bullet faster that any other method.

I can’t even fathom what you and Bonnie and the other ranchers went through, watching everything you’ve worked for go up in flames! Losing your cattle, had to be heartbreaking! Do you have a count of lost cattle, horses and deer. What about Mendota Max?? Did you storage tanks burn or are their all steel? It's great to hear the Barndominium did it's thing and kept y'all safe but it's too bad about the devastation. I'm curious to see the patches where you killed off trees with the Brush Bullet, was it a nightmare or Nature's Clean Up?

It's so difficult to see the damage a fire causes. The loss of land, property and personal possessions yet I cry when I see animals try to survive and end up dying. It's a wonder more of your livestock didn't perish. Jason, your level-headed decisions made under pressure is incredible to watch. When I first heard about the big fire and they said it was located near Canadian Texas, I knew you were in trouble. Pray for you every day. We had the same fire invasion in 2020, albeit on a much smaller scale. It is so devastating to watch your property go up in flames and there is nothing you can do about it. We are still rebuilding.

I'm so sorry for the devastation you and other ranchers have experienced as a result of the wild fires there. I was filled with mixed emotions when I read your title. So thankful your home was not destroyed in the fire. Very sad that the ranch was lost. The aerial video helps put in perspective how vast the fire really was. I was not far from a prairie fire in south west Saskatchewan (South of Ponteix) when 1,000s of acres were burned. Fortunately no lives were lost. I'm praying you will be able to recover.

So sorry for you Bonnie and everyone at the Ranch. I'm praying you can recovery from this. It's traumatic. I lost my home in a storm and fire in Jan. 2007 here in Wenatchee,WA. The things I lost of sentimental value are only things I cared about. But it was hard physically and emotionally to recover from as well as financially. Your family will never forget the fire of 2024 I'm sure😢.

I've had to live with fire for years. The last one we had changed everything I knew as a child. I don't even know how to get to some places because there is no landmarks and the place seems dead.

So sad about the fires. I was in Canadian last year researching family history and visiting graves there. Beautiful town and friendly people. Love the courthouse, movie theater and museum. Hope you recover and bounce back good luck.

The fire burning around those cattle was a miracle. I kind of know what you feel like we were very close to the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon wildfire 2 years ago in New Mexico.

So very sorry you guys went through all that. Back in 2011 we went through it here in Bastrop Tx. , My Sister and Brother in law lost homes, cattle and pets. It was so very scary. So many friends and others lost homes and animals. Horrible thing to go through.

My thoughts have been with you. The minute I heard that fire was headed in your direction, my heart sank. I thank God for saving you, your family, your home, and animals in the home area. I'm so glad some cows were saved. Can't imagine what Max's fate was. I guess the time will come that you will come across him, one way or another. I am so sorry. I’m watching this and tears come to my eyes for your wide spread loss. I’m not understanding why there are no planes flying over with fire retardant. I get the water dropping part but why not the red/orange powder fire retardant? Anyway, words can not express the sadness I feel for your ranch and all the affected areas from this fire.
Tanker bases in this part of the country aren't typically manned at this time of year. Lats (Large Air Tanters) did arrive at the Abilene Tanker Base on March 1st and began air operations a few days later. Even if they had been manned I think the wind may have been too high to safely/affectively fight the fire when it first began. There were many smaller air assets fighting the fire with water. The military was even helping with Chinooks.
