Helen: "They're letting the night doorman go!"
George: I ain't surprised. The last time I saw the doorman, he was so stoned, I had to show him where the door was!''
I guess Ralph was getting his drink on.

@@sollyparker3947 Yes he was. If you recall, when the Jeffersons first went into their new apartment, Ralph was carrying the luggage, and got his first tip from George. That's the episode when they met Bentley for the first time, and found out that Tom and Helen lived in the building. Ralph was already there.

@@jamesorsby7553 good point. The ep you are talking about is a All in the Family episode, but for some reason he didnt make his 1st appearance on the Jeffersons until episode 7 Lionel Cries Uncle. Which was 3 episodes after this one. He was only seen three times in season 1

@@sollyparker3947 I knew I’d seen him already there, but I’d forgot about the All in the Family episode. But anyway, I’m guessing that he’s the doorman that George made reference to being drunk that day.

Helen wasted too much time trying to talk George into having the meeting. She ought to have just used the magic word Wittendale and she'd have had his attention immediately. Tom was acting like such a jerk about the stupid pen. It's HIS pen so HE should've known where it was. It's very irritating when men ask their wives "Have you seen my..." If it's YOURS, you keep track of it!

I don't know why she needs to announce Helen's last name. I don't recall them knowing any other Helens.
