Later season Niles becomes so normal. Imagine how stressed out and wound up he was in his loveless marriage to make him the way he was in the early seasons. I like to think that the Niles we see in the later season, after he's with Daphne and becomes more relaxed and confident, is the real one. And that's the character that was in there all along but was just too stressed out and neurotic to escape. Even his voice is different.
Yeah, right? When I was watching the parking garage episode I remembered people saying that and thought that maybe the parking garage episode was an example of that… …until Roz blurted out on-air that she slept with Frasier and Frasier came in at the end and absolutely destroyed her. 😂🤣😂
Christopher Lloyd coming back as a producer was a big part of it. He made their relationship normal instead of the usual sitcom fodder, which honestly I think threw people off.
This is such a great scene on so many different levels for me, but one the things I really love is how kind they both are to Roz. Daphne and Niles both being sympathetic about her bad date, and Niles instantly offering to make her dinner just shows what good people they are. It tempers their light hearted teasing of her and lets you know that despite picking on her a little they really do care about her.
I saw the play "Curtains" with David Hyde pierce as lead role in New York City. When the play was over, David was basically standing right in front of me as i had front row seats with Mi Madre. I shouted "I LOVE YOU, NILES!" And he gave me thumbs up!!!!! I LOVE my mom for bringing me to places like that. Best day EVER!!!!
Niles biting comments were probably the result of his being jealous that Roz was free and able to have fun dating while he was trapped in unhappy marriages before he got together with Daphne.
@@njpubadjuster3710 Yeah, your right that makes sense. I watch Frasier every night on Hallmark Channel,I must say I've never seen this episode. Looks hilarious!!

Roz was my favourite person on this show. She was bright, spunky and sexy and yet vulnerable. All the best qualities in a woman.
I don't know exactly why, but I love the way Jane Leeves delivers that line, "Do you find us unattractive?" It's a different delivery than anything else she says in the scene. or anything else I can remember her saying in the series. It's almost as though it's a different accent or something.
Daphne asks Roz if she has got other plans, and she says, "well, I guess not, but..." - so if they'd asked for a ménage, she would have said 'yes'??! I nearly fell down from the sofa when I was watching this. XD"
I loved this scene Cuz it showed how Daphne has loosened Niles up. He used to be all stuck up and snobby but since being with Daphne his personality has changed and so has his clothing style. He's more laid back.
I love this scene because it shows what great friends they've become. We know that Daphne and Roz had become girlfriends, but the Roz and Niles' relationship started out with a lot of friction. But by the end, they truly cared for each other as both friends and family. In this scene, Niles showed no elitism and truly saw Roz as an equal. In fact, he was her servant and even apologized for not offering her a meal. In fact, the roles are reversed. Whereas Roz is usually sexually raunchy, Niles is the one with the low brow sexual humor. Loved it.
Such changes in treatment between Roz and Niles. For several seasons it was joke jousting to see which could undo the other. Niles the holier than thou nobleman and Roz the upstart who saw Niles as a peacock to pluck any way she could. Daphne who distracted him so innocently, as she initially didn't know his feelings toward herself, yet as "working class" and a care worker defacto embraced Roz as one of her own from their introduction on. Three, and more, true loving friendships that were bound to wrap together on this remarkable journey of a show!!!
Back when I was a child and then a teenager I always had a crush on Roz and Daphne. Both woman are amazing! I wouldn't know who to pick! Damn, I wish I could have them both at the same time!!!! ;)
@@MrBraddles3128 I couldn't remember it till I saw a clip that referenced it. I watched the final few seasons more out of habit than enthusiasm. I'd even forgotten that Maris was charged with murder.
Yeah, Ross and Frasier got together when they were both vulnerable after she got dumped by the garbageman. Then she avoided Frasier because she was worried, but it turned out they both just wanted to make sure they could still be friends after that, because they were such good friends and were both worried about losing their best friends.

rofl. and what's wrong with us do you find us unattractive well what if we wore masks oh they'd have to be nixon and frankenstein, that's all we've got

Hell if they did, I don't think niles would even make it in the bed, if Daphne and Roz were getting it on. Dude be paralyzed standing with his tounge on the floor.
FoolOfGods. Of course I agree that David's life-partner 'possesses a better and unique insight than any fan-viewer could'. That's rather obvious. I was just saying that it must be difficult to act completely relaxed and he did it very well. He looked so relaxed that I imagined that was what he might look like relaxing at home rather than in a television studio. I don't see what that has to do with him being straight or gay, married or otherwise. Relax people, relax.
1:03 If you watched the penultimate episode, "Crock Tales", you would know that Roz is thinking about her conversation with Daphne the day after the first time Niles and Daphne had sex.
A lesser sitcom would have had Niles dropping hints that he wanted in on the menage. Instead, Daphne and Niles are perfectly in synch as a team to troll Roz.
I love this scene because Niles is so uncharacteristically laid back, and I feel like that's not just the massage but also having Daphne with him.
She definitely mellowed him out.
I think when he got togheter with Daphne finally 😊 he could be himself not putting up a front, be pretentious and elitist just be calm and laid back.
@@ddjmfan he was happy for the first time in his life
Yes I could see some of the real DHP showing through. Subtle but different and very nice indeed!
Island Niles, nuff said
Niles in the later seasons is so different from early Niles, but it happened so organically that you don't even notice.
He seem so repressed when he was married to Maris and Mel.
Daphne, too. I’ve been binging it lately and noticed that Daphne’s picked up Niles’s habit of trolling Roz.
So true.

Niles laugh when Roz says "I wouldn't mind a sandwich" kills me every time! one of the best scenes of Fraiser.
I've viewed this scene so many times and I'm never sure whether it's great acting, or DHP didn't know Roz's sandwich line and is genuinely laughing.

Yep. That's why Frasier was the best writing in comedy for ten years. The characters grew and changed.
I don't understand why people say the show got worse when they got married. The show never dipped in quality

To be fair to Roz, she did seem jealous when Daphne described Niles flipping her over like a griddle cake.
"Oh, shut up!"
It's so nice seeing Niles relaxed and just plain happy when he finally found love.
