Beautiful home! One thing that I think that makes your home look expensive right away without spending a penny is get rid of all your clutter and make sure your home is well organized and clean. Less is more!!! Lighting is also super important in a home, good lighting makes a huge difference and fresh paint also is good when you want to give your home a new fresh look without spending too much. I also like to add a tray and put things together in that tray instead of having the stuff all over the place, example the perfumes i have them all in a beautiful tray in my closet.😊

At the end of the day I believe it is just dependent upon your taste level. Your home is gorgeous b/c you have nice taste and also it is more neutral and appealing to more people. I have been in some expensive homes full of overpriced items and I literally got a headache looking at the way they were decorated.

I used to go to the Allergist and got rid of my perfumes, changed to even unscented soaps, creams, and shampoos And now try to eat less from fast food restaurants. I have been pretty much allergy free for more than a decade. Allergies can also be triggered by ppl wearing perfumes that may be in close contact with you and smoking. I hope u feel better:)
Love your home and tips..I find the homes in the U.S. so much bigger in comparison to the ones in the U.K. even those who are renting are much larger ..l would love to still incorporate some of your tips in my 'tiny' flat..on a scaled down version..
I would have have all of the 3 mirrors the same & chosen the gold one, to compliment your gorgeous sofa and cushions. Expensive & classy! I wouldn’t say the sectional sofa is classic but the French doors & mirror are. To keep the symmetry I would put wall lights on either side of sofa, in silver too. I don’t care for mixed metals which are trendy at the mo. Too much bling can cheapen a look but from what I see you have a good eye & a nice balance but ditch the fake cakes! They will just encourage you to eat & all that sugar is bad, but that’s another story!

DS I was thinking the same. I don't walk on my floor or anyone's floor barefoot. Plus slippers or thin socks will do. I really don't believe she walks through that entire house barefoot like that all the time. She has hardwoods and it seem it would be uncomfortable

Never view you before. I love this video. And a tip from me is oregano will reverse allergies and it not toxic to the body like the store brought things. 3 drops in water and you good to go. Put vaseline on lip. Oregano is hot😂

In the dinningroom the three pictures look great but the no framed picture needs to go. If it was my dinningroom I would do two of the three pictures on the wall they are on and remove the no framed picture and place one of the framed pictures there, it will flow much better. U don't need a picture on every empty wall. It's like u start with framed and wham the no framed picture? Try it and see if it looks much better and even. On the holes on the wall use white toothpaste if u don't have putty and dab ur finger in the paint can and walls fixed. Bueatiful home.

Yes, a little bling is nice but the only bling that's in my family 's homes are antique chandeliers. The tables and furniture are mahogany or cherry wood. It must be an American thing to feel the need to impress others. My parents and family all have fabulous homes but we don't have a conversation about a new carpet for example!! We just spend time together and aren't trying to impress each other. Why would you care what people notice in your home? I will say that I love your wainscoting it is very elegant and a good carpenter can make it, to your specification too. I love the velvet textured sofa and cushions for dimension too. You're correct about the quality rug but again, going on and on about it just bores people. You're home is nice(I just hate grey, painted walls and mustard) but less bling would make your home look more elegant. The 3 mirrors are far too much. They actually take away from the quality sofa because the sofa looks like it wasn't cheap and the mirrors although cute do take from the sofa. A one off art piece or one large expensive mirror would look better. The mirrors would look better in a bedroom. A thing I have many of are blown up family photos. Say, one of a nice holiday a pair I have are of my son and I, on a gondola ride. They are half the size of your average poster. Then, you take them to the framer. To add the dimension that you're on about, I had them single mounted as double or triple would take from the photos in this case, using 3 inch black, wooden frames. They are 3 inches in depth not diameter. They are staggered on the wall. Your sofa and cushions are lovely but the 3 mirrors are too loud and busy looking. Even 1 blown up (I mean using film, not just printing them off using paper), unusual family photo with a professional frame would be much nicer. Interior designers tell us to avoid buying wall art that is common and cheap. You can even make your own statement wall art. It makes sense because everyone can buy the cheap, generic wall pieces that includes mirrors. Seeing as you want to impress people then that was obvious. Lol

Wow your home is so beautiful! I'm terrible at decorating, you have a gift. My taste is bohemian, eco-friendly (wood, stone, plants, recycling) and global. I just want art nature, and color absolutely everywhere but not too busy. People should be comfortable and at peace. They are the star in my home, not any of my things.
I guess I am wanting it to look nice and having people over setting a tone from less eclectic and bohemian for clients when they walk in, not “expensive” but I realize my look is maybe too casual... ha ha.

Declutter and pick some monotone shades for walls, furniture and accessories--greys, whites, creams and one accent colour...throughout the house...so it flows. Works for me. XO

I usually by socks or footies when on sale, IKEA sometimes have nice little house shoes for a few dollars or when I fly or stay in hotel, they give complimentary house shoes or socks. I save for my guests.

I know exactly what your talking about concerning HomeGoods (TJ Maxx & Marshall's) they're my go to's for reasonably priced home decor. A few years ago I worked at Home Goods.
