I was here in summer of 2019. We were going to come back here before VCF on Friday but we ended up doing an all-day trip back and forth from eastern Iowa for VCF. No time this year. Galloping Ghost Arcade is unreal! They have over 1,000 arcades now!!
Awesome video Josh ! I wish each state would have a pla e like this where gamers can go and play one price and literraly be immersed with childhood favorite games played back in the day. Also love the atmosphere with all the sounds and gamers having fun. Keep up the Great Work!
Thank you for taking the time to stop by each arcade classic. It's always a pleasure to rediscover these cabinets in detail. Encore merci et bravo pour cette vidéo l'ami !!! ;) (sorry, I'm french you tuber !)
found this video trying to get a look at a more recent lineup at GG, and wow, there's some wild ones, even aside from ones you mentioned. just as an example, i saw golly ghost, a light gun game with a physical diorama that the game is projected over. such a cool game!
I remember back when malls were just becoming a big thing...my mom and I would go on a Saturday and there was this new mall that opened up and the arcade actually had bumper cars in it. It was insane. I would ride the bumper cars once...because they were kind of pricey. Then spend time in the arcade while my mom shopped where she wanted to go. She would come back and get me and we would go eat Mexican food at El Fenix. Great memories. Oh...and Marble Madness was definitely in the arcades before the Nintendo. So many of these machines you pass by are not that well known but I recognize a lot of them. You should go play Cliff Hanger laser disk game. That was so much fun when it came out.
That Sea Wolf one just after you showed the TMNT looked similar to what was in Australia 🇦🇺 years ago. 🎉 Enjoyed seeing this place and wondering around with you, Excellent Editing as well, I am sure you would have had Quite a bit of Footage from this adventure time here, so many amazing games to see. Thank you for showing Donkey Kong too. 😊
Such an awesome video. I loved seeing the super Mario games, those will always be my favorite. Crazy taxi was one of my favorite games to play on my gamecube and I remember playing that Simpsons game.
This was so neat to check out! I only really recognized the pac man game lol 😂 It was cool to check out the retro games and see how far games have come 💕
I still remember the day Sega's Time Traveler (the hologram game) showed up in our local mall arcade in '91, it definitely drew a crowd. Very bittersweet to see it sitting in a back room ignored, all these years later. Still, glad to see they still exist.
What a cool place! I know you were amazed, Josh - so glad you got to go and have fun! Thanks for sharing this! I didn't know such a place existed. Will have to add it to our bucket list. 😀
I remember when Disneyquest had retro arcades and i spent hours playing them and i loved how you didn't have to pay to play them the only way i play retro games is on acual hardware and it holds up very well and i love how you can play arcade games on retro consoles too.
Hey, Josh, did you ever play "The Ninja Warriors?" It was this cool arcade game with this crazy triple screen setup and awesome surround sound speakers that would just suck you into the action! The graphics on it were really clear and detailed, almost like playing a Konami game on NES. Cool video! Got to check this place out!
Going there May or June of 2025! My Jam is Discs of Tron, Gyruss, Prehistoric Isle, Tournament CyberBall 2072, CyberSled plus many others I haven’t seen or played in 30 or 35+ years such as SubRoc 3D, Sega Star Trek, SMASH TV, Dungeons and Dragons, Buck Rogers and the Planet of Zoom, Mach 3, Cliffhanger and many more! 😎🤯🤩🤪
Those "hologram" games from Sega are very cool. I remember seeing one of these back in the day although they were pretty rare. Technically the visuals aren't a hologram but are a version of the Pepper's Ghost effect used in the Haunted Mansion.
That’s cool! I was wondering how they did it. I was thinking maybe it was projected on a piece of glass, but Pepper’s Ghost is a much simpler way for sure.
@@retrotv1tech It looks like they assimilated several buildings on the block, so they probably have multiple services and probably fully utilizing them all!
I just saw my favorite called rip-off. You had to shot alien ships as they try to take containers. Gets faster and faster. Simple bw vector graphics. Unfortunately, it was not working here.
Josh funspot has a whole floor of retro games its on the stairs by the tower game josh its not bad acttualy come next year they open at ellven am est or ten am est
Amazing spot! This is about 20 minutes from my house. Very cool to see you stopping in 👍🏼
8:30 not just some japanese game. Thats Castlevania the Arcade . Insanely rare arcade cabinet !!
Awesome to see you drop in! This is not that far from me. It’s a great time!
Very cool! It was a blast!
This place is amazing!!!! I need to visit this place one day! So many games bringing back memories of my childhood in the 80s playing them.

Yes! It’s amazing! Their website says 1002 now! Crazy!
Glad you were able to go here. They just added their 1000th game recently. Chicago has alot of cool places like this
That’s so cool! I just wish I could come more often!

I think a good video might be you and Jen going through the Brookfield Zoo !

Great memories for sure! Thanks for sharing!
So enjoyable for those of us that are not really techy. Thank you for the tour. Great fun 😊
Thanks! It was awesome!
Wow! This Arcade takes me back to my childhood! Thanks for sharing all the awesomeness Josh!
My pleasure!

Loved Crazy Taxi! We finally got it on GameCube when it came out. Tons of fun!

Yeah, and this one at least gets played. It’s actually not in the back. It’s pretty close to the front, and I’m sure it gets played most days.
Joust! Haven't seen that in years!
Yes! Such a classic!
Our son would camp out here & win! 🏆 Thx Josh. 😊
Yes! He’d love it!
I love retro arcades. Have some near, always enjoy going when I can. Can’t wait to watch this video.
Thanks!

It is definitely worth a trip for sure!!
That was so awesome. I wish they had more places like this ❤
Me too!
Very very cool!!
Although those machines are awfully close!! 😮😂
If this place existed in the 90s it would have been the undisputed place to be
2 player Spy Hunter cab has to be pretty rare....
I remember when Disneyquest had retro arcades and i spent hours playing them and i loved how you didn't have to pay to play them the only way i play retro games is on acual hardware and it holds up very well and i love how you can play arcade games on retro consoles too.
I agree! Disney Quest had a whole retro section that was so amazing! I wish I had gone there more.
This is amazing!
Thanks!
"It's huge" and a 2nd and 3rd floor is in the works for more games also!
Wait, really?
Yes, but they have to save up money to get it made first. They talked about it in a past podcast stream.

No, but that sounds super cool!

My favs were zaxxon, xevious, bagman and scramble
Nice!
You have to come back to see the pinball area, its worth it on its own! Let me know next time you're coming, I'll join you!
Absolutely!! Sounds amazing! I didn’t realize that part closed early, and I got there late due to the VCF.
Final Fight is awesome!
Sure is!
Here we go!
Yay!
I need to get to this place... Damn I was better than you at Dragons Lair when I was 15 .. hehehe😂
I didn’t even know I was playing at first. Lol.
Josh, Must be a retro arcade in Orlando area. Have you been to one in the area?
There doesn’t seem to be just a retro arcade unless I just can’t find it. I’ll have to keep searching.
OMG Afterburner!!
Yes!
I’m sure it’s there somewhere but Frogger was always my game of choice.
Yes it was there. I must have just not taken any video of it. I remember playing it once.
Not Daikeien in Chiba, Japan? It even has a helipad
I guess if you don't count medal games and crane games and other amusements this has more
That could be. I hadn’t heard of that one. This arcade just claims to be the largest. Perhaps the count is just for true arcade games as you said.
This is insane! Imagine their power bill! Even if each game only drew 100watts, thats like 800+ amps of power!
Yeah! I was thinking the same thing! Probably needs a special connection!
@@retrotv1tech It looks like they assimilated several buildings on the block, so they probably have multiple services and probably fully utilizing them all!
They make plenty of revenue to cover it. I go there all the time, it's always busy there.
@@atrain818 I hear that, if I lived close enough I'd be there constantly
Do they have Slugfest Pinball? Baseball Cards come out for every run you bat in
I didn’t go to the pinball arcade they have, unfortunately. It’s a couple blocks down and was closed when I got there.
No. They don't have that game
I just saw my favorite called rip-off. You had to shot alien ships as they try to take containers. Gets faster and faster. Simple bw vector graphics. Unfortunately, it was not working here.
Oh wow… I never played that one. Sounds fun!
Marble madness had the video arcade game first in 1984 then it went to NES
Thanks! Great game!
Georgia peach watching now 🍑 😊 🎮 🕹 🌟
Thats not ture funspot is the words largest arcade
Funspot is sick and has more square footage but Galloping Ghost has more games. Like, way more games.
Aggred
Alexander is correct. Galloping Ghost has way more games. It is the biggest as far as games.
Josh funspot has a whole floor of retro games its on the stairs by the tower game josh its not bad acttualy come next year they open at ellven am est or ten am est
Yipee another clueless fool in the Arcade Community! so many on this channel. Seriously Just Stop!
