  • Eh, Yo! This week we walk through Galloping Ghosts Arcade. The owner of Galloping Ghosts Arcade Doc Mack showed us some of the collection. Doc has been with Galloping Ghosts Arcade since they opened in 2010. Galloping Ghosts Arcade is the world's largest arcade, holding over 984 games on the floor. Galloping Ghosts Arcade is one of the only arcades in the world where you can play Primal Rage 2, Time Traveler, and so many other rare games in one place. Galloping Ghosts Arcade even has the only NARC in the world with the bonus level that was removed before the commercial release. Galloping Ghosts also has a bunch of 1 of 1 cabinets that were tested or prototyped but never made it to production.
    Galloping Ghosts Arcade is a must-visit if you visit Chicago, just 20 minutes from the city. With a new game being added to the floor every Monday at Galloping Ghosts Arcade you will always have something new to check out.

    I’ll be in there for hours 😊

      I was there for 5 and just scratched the surface. I could spend 30 hours in there and still miss games.

      You are going to love it. 4 days might be enough time, there is so much there.

    Way to end it with that lovely X-Men Arcaded 6-player version. Also wow that Primal Rage 2 cabinet. The Golfland I lived across the street from in the town of Milpitas near San Jose Bay Area had it there for a minute, although I don't recall if I saw it (I certainly remember Primal Rage 1). Weird to definitively see it now.

      Yeah that X-Men cab is nice isn't it. Primal Rage 2 is a crazy rare cabinet, Doc built this one. A friend sold him the board and he built the cabinet around it. When we spoke about that he said there are only a few known to exist, it never got past testing. He told the whole story in the first interview I did with him.

    That's a crazy collection of shmups. Definitely never seen a Dragon Saber in the wild before.

      The craziest collection I've ever seen was at Galloping Ghosts. I did a slow walkthrough of the whole arcade. If you like shmups I'd check that one out.

    If Heaven was a place on Earth....this is it. I live about a 20 min ride from the Ghost, I try to visit every 3 months. If you're in Chicago visiting stop in Brookfield IL and hit this place up.

      Good, yours blessed to be that close to an arcade like that. I'd be there all the time.

      I agree. If you are ever near, you need to check it out. I'd be visiting all the time if I wasn't 7 hours away.

    Awesome to see Savage Quest running! hope you played it! ;) Super Rare game. Still have the version no one else has, but great to see most the games up and running this year.

      I didn't get a chance to play it. I feel like everything there is rare. I played Ribbit, Beavis and Butthead, and so many others. It's hard to play everything. It'd take days.

    was there this weekend. still a great place but too many of the games that I was looking forward to playing are compromised by a faulty joystick/button or just outright turned off. would rather see them double the maintenance efforts rather than adding more and more games.

    I heard they expanded the place because I went there for the first time five years ago. How big is it in there now?

    • @IndieArcadeWave
      @IndieArcadeWave  16 днів тому

      It's huge, I think he has more space to expand, too. They must be at around 1000 games by now. It's at least 7 rooms.

    What the place smell like? Hope smells like arcade supermarket goo.

    • @IndieArcadeWave
      @IndieArcadeWave  Місяць тому +4

      It smells like an arcade, exactly what you would expect for almost 1000 40+ year old cabinets. It's clean, but it has that dusty arcade smell you're looking for.

      @@kennykrobs6935 I agree, I only put music over it if they had music playing in the arcade. If I won't get a Copyrights claim I let the games speak for themselves.
