- From Mozart's 'Exsultate, jubilate', sung by Diana Damrau at Madrid's Teatro Real on the 23rd of December, 2009.
NOTE: That female 'Brava!' you can hear at the very end was me.
This is fast becoming one of my favorite interpretations of EXSULTATE JUBILATE. Ms. Damrau is maturing into an all-around incredible soprano. Her mellifluous tone, liquid phrasing, silky and precise trills, and treatment of the text are perfect for 18th-century music.
I love you, Damrau!
I love her grace of melodic line that she brings to this piece. It i simply stunning!
Beautiful rendition!!!! Diana Damrau is the best!!!
Ty Lilith for posting, what can I say?
The Perfect Composer and the PERFECT VOICE. ^-^
{sigh} I think I'll start a religion called Damrauism.....
Great , fantastic.... I enjoy her voice so much!
And yes Lilith, I heard your voice at the end too. Thank you very much for this masterpiece. I'am listening and listening and... :-)
Wonderful performance as usual. I prefer "Tu virginum" at a slower tempo, but that's personal preference. In the "Alleluja", Damrau sounded uncannily like Edith Mathis in some of her coloratura...clean, precise, and the color was the same, although Edith never had Damrau's glittering top voice. Stunning performance. (Nice shout out there, Lilith!)
Yes, she is :D Thanks for commenting!
@Cissy97 They are not 'holding it back'... It was publicly broadcast on the radio for free.
Bravaaaaaa!!!!!!!
Good luck on going to Washington! I am positive it will be fantastic :D
While Auger sings marvellous and is maybe the most impressive one, Kanawa impressive too, Bartoli is far too technical, though somehow dull (useful maybe for teaching purpose) and Fleming too operatic, and exagerated here and there (this is not an opera but a motet),
Damrau vision seems to be the most balanced and complete. Mozart would probably hire her :).
Understandably! Thanks for commenting :)
Thanks xD
Ah, you'll also hear me with Joyce xDDDDDDDDDDDD
@Kerguelen1 Too late. I did that already 4 years ago! xD
