I have mike stingers trolling motor mount and a spotlock. I also have mike stingers belly mount for a GT56 3 in1 transducer for side and down imaging and livescope. total game changers on my 22 FPT. They can keep the APEX... im good. In a hot climate the windshield is stupid and looks stupid.
I have the 24 FPT and this is my biggest complaint. I love the product but no OEM trolling motor options seemed like an oversight for the entire lineup.
Yeah it's trolling mode/setting speed mainly targetting trolling lines behind for faster fish but not the kind for bass type fishing. I completely understand the oversight, for sure. Maybe they will create an add-on in the future
Having spot lock, remote control, ete would definitely make it a more stealthy, well-rounded fishing machine. But I don’t know why they try to market this ski like you should be using this in tight spaces in back-waters, lakes, rivers, etc as a replacement for a bass boat or even a high-end kayak. Why do you need a 300hp motor and a built-in livewell for that kind of fishing? This ski seems to better suit the needs of the hardcore offshore fisherman who wants to run and gun, duck storms, and get out to spots 10+ miles out faster than anyone else. And the trolling functionality that already exists on the ski should work fine for that. Instead of showing it on a nice calm river on the front page, they should have Emmanuel Williams doing a backflip on this thing while holding up an 80lb wahoo. However, for that kind of fishing the swivel seat isn't necessary, so I see your point there. And for $30k out the door I agree, the ski shouldn't be geared for only for a specific kind of fishing. Ideally it should be an all-in-one versatile fishing machine. But excluding the trolling motor doesn't mean there isn't a market for it either. But hey, any least the front rails will hopefully make it easier to install a TM mount with a quick release bracket haha.
I would really rather see a couple thru hull impellers that could connect to gps that could be set to hold position or follow a set route on your gps that you can set up based on depth and bottom structures or fall offs etc. have it run off secondary battery and ski automatically starts and recharges when battery voltage gets to low. Space and weight is everything so just makes sense to me
Just install the Minn Kota. Come on! If you can, buy an Apex Jet Ski; it shouldn't be a problem. 😅 I saw a few Sea-Doo Trophy and FishPro models with Minn Kota already installed.
The real problem with the fish pros is you’ll Hydrolock the engine. If you blast around too long with the trolling motor, they can’t even fix that. Too many guys have Hydrolock their engines just anchored up. They need to fix that and add a factory trolling motor option. You can get damn kayak with a Minn Kota spotlock from the factory. Why not a $20,000 ski
@@goathunter2007 no way. there's a check valve now. no water gets in with the motor off. I suppose if there's water in the water box and we're sloshing like mad it's possible, but the check valve prevents that. probably 1 in a thousand chance that happens. plus you can turn on the motor every 20ish minutes to blast it out. non issue imo. I suppose if you leave the ski off for days and there's water in the water box it CAN happen but man, this seems like a reach

@JayHarvey00 nope it's not. It's as pointless as taking a sxs and lowering it and putting big rims amd street tires on it. We need to go back to the 90s when pwc's were small and nimble amd still fast. Not the size of a jon boat and have a trolling motor amd rod holders or a dang windshield and cleats 🤦

Sea Doo Fish Pro Apex $35000+ in Australia 😢 $5K more than the Trophy. $5K for a grab handle, wind screen and slightly bigger plotter. Err no thanks.

Pretty sure they mentioned it has a trolling mode. Might not be a literal motor but has a mode to move slower and steady.
