Varys is a great answer by Kit Harrington. Idk if this is said in the show, but in the books there's a scene where Varys says that his main goal is to support the seven kingdoms and its people by supporting rulers he believes will be most beneficial to them. When he says that he "serves the realm" he really means it, its not just a political statement.
Im with Nikolaj, I think every major house should have their own territory and authority. There shouldn't be one house ruling over every other, that's how the fighting never stops and how people keep dying
Okay I know they specify that they are speaking as the actors and not the characters, but it's still fucking hilarious that both Cersie and Tywin immediately jumped to Tyrion. XD
I loved that someone said Varys!! He actually said it! Glad I'm not the only one who wished that, but we all knew that wasn't going to happen. Varys is too smart for that. He prefers to move the threads behind the scenes and if something goes wrong you have the king/queen to blame!

Not only that but he's actually trying to help the north by ridding them off the Boltons and reinstating the Stark as the "ruling" house in the North, which would stabilize the realm further. So no, he's far from insane, he knows what he's doing and while it's very risky at every turn, it has to be done.
