- In today’s video we are harvesting the covered maize with the claas jaguar 890 and the team of Massey Ferguson tractors 6499, 7718s and 7618. And lane, brougham and Herron trailer. We push up the maize with the veniri and cover with a oxygen barrier sheet. We also had Farmflix out to make a video so keep an eye out for that.

Great stuff. Put pea gravel into half ton bag wit digger/ narrow bucket. Drop bag onto fertiliser bag opener and it will make filling gravel bags fast and easy 💪🤠

Great video. 12 years ago we did 2nd cut silage. A long draw through our town. There was a tractor and trailer tied a car in town hold up for 45 minutes. Later on that day loader shovel got sock in conner silage pit up against a shed the men had to dig a hole on one side rise other side with tyres to get loader out.

Great video, I'm sure father Phil could make some sort of hopper out of a old manure spreader r something for filling the sand bags&fill the sand with back actor of 50b, so ye can have loads of sand bags for next year 🙂

Evening Phil, id be sceptical of the efficacy of the o2 barrier sheet applied like that but obviously time will tell and please don't think I'm picking fault, we have used cling film for approx 8-10 years, we put that on first and ensure its tucked well in down the sides and back and under the front of the pit. the fold your sides sheets over and cover with black sheet, then green sheet and bags, we literally have zero waste at all year after year! all the best! looked a good crop!

Roll, roll, roll. We always go roll the pit after the contractor goes for a hr or more. Top keeps perfect
Lovely video, but if we left pieces of maize that length we would get sacked! How different places do it differently is lovely to see 👍 we use the silofresh cling film first then pull the side sheets over the edges then run a row of gravel bags round the edge to hold it all down then we run a black sheet completely over the top followed by genetex green sheets to finish off with gravel bags all on the edges and lines in the middle. But our smallest clamp is 40m long 22m wide 6m high and our biggest is 48m wide but 100m long and 8m high
Farmer Phil, I'm coming to you from across the pond. I enjoyed your video, and the music was fantastic. Who was singing? I want to get that recording. I like listening to a British accent, but the Irish accent is my favorite! I still have trouble understanding Scottish or Welsh, but I will continue to try. Oh, Farmer Phil, you have a tough job sitting beside a pretty lady in your tractor!

The easiest way to fill sandbags is to use a pipe put the pipe in the bag fill the pipe then remove pipe

Only ever put one sheet of black plastic on the maize and the green cover on top.. Never any waste aper from along the walls.
