Get the big shovel back on the pit work.
Ye'll knock the arse out of the JCB on that work.
    Probably not heavy enough either.

Hi Phil, I was a Abattoir worker, working wth bulls one needed to take extra care, without doubt too you will need to do the same as they begin to reach their trip to the Factory. Just a question, is the Market for bulls better than Steers. I never miss any of your posts, I love the way Father Phil can maintain any farming machine, he's a genius.

Citrus pulp or beet pulp is great for absorbing juice , we put in brewers grain with our maize last year and it is over 20% protein which worked well for milking cows .

My middle year farm back in the mid 90’s used to do the same 2ft of brewers grains under the the whole floor of the maize pit worked a treat

Good to have it in mate. We used the jcb Tele for all the stack work in holland, thinner layers than you do and lots of rolling and it’s a piss easy job with great results. Can get right to the wall everywhere so no hot spots later, can just crab walk it off if ya get caught too close 🤣🤣. A mate here in Aus spread corn kernels in his stack last year, was an issue with ripening (wrong seed in bags 🫣) was a bit green but with all the extra kernels it came out really well. Crop costs was reimbursed so adding kernels was a good way to still have a stack.

good crop maize Phil cons the weather we had.
The more you use the JCB on the pit the more you will get used to its tricks.

hi, over here in Canada, southwestern ontario, they use heat units for growing time to ripen, example, 3500 heat units in the south to 2100 mid province, and heat units are what the variety needs over its growing period at a certain amount of sunny days at a certain temperature range.
In your part of the planet Phil probably a 2100 heat unit would be the number

I know it’s different climate but here in bc of we’re under 10 foot corn were embarassed and a poor crop.

Seen far worse than that, its not a bad crop. Saw maize once completely flattened after a storm and the harvester could only cut it in once direction! A small yield but fed well. So this crop is ok.
