Great video thank you Ubiquiti. Something to in mind about mag locks for residential applications is that they only lock when electrical power is available. For homes, consider electric strikes and deadbolts, they stay locked with or without electrical power.
Depends on the mag lock style, the in-frame mag lock fails to secure. Either way, you'll want to add a mission-critical module to ensure you have power to the system when power is out.
A hack for putting the armature on a door without misplacing the 3 holes. Use the template to mark the 2 pins and install them into the armature plate. Drill the 2 holes for the armature pins and apply the armature to the door and then use the armature itself as a drill guide with a 3/8 drill bit all the way thru the door, remove the armature and then use the 3/8 hole as a pilot for the 5/8 or 1/2 hole you need to drill depending on if you need to use the additional tube for hollow metal doors. Wood doors you can use just the threaded dowel thru a 1/2” hole. Its easy for me to get the 2 pin holes right but the large lag bolt hole is always a 16th off center and I hate making a round hole into an oval because of my measuring mistake, this fixes that for me atleast 🍻
Should work with other mag locks, it has a dry option to signal door opening and a powered option 12v / 1 amp. So if it requires different power than the powered it likely has an exterior power source you can use it with the dry ports.
I am interested in purchasing the Hub to control a side door next to my exit gate at a condo and I was thinking if is possible to use the Poe out put ports for two cameras and a door reader… The three ports are Poe and 15w max each. Thanks in advance.
So I'm a little confused now with the electric lock option. We have a metal frame glass door out front that doesn't have a latch (like the little thingy that you'd turn a door knob to unhook the door from the plate/frame to open it). It's just a handle and you pull or push to open the door, and it has a lock that latches when we close up for the day. We want to do an electric lock but not sure if that would work in our door situation. Would the electric lock make the lock itself turn to lock/unlock as we push the Exit button (or swipe to enter), if that makes sense..? Or would we have to use the magnetic lock option since there's no door latch thingy?
The solution is interesting due to the ecosystem. But there are a lot of similar solutions on the market. We need advantages over the market for these devices.
Strikes Can work fine on exterior doors, but I don’t recommend them. You tend to want to keep said door unlocked when at home. This will draw power, and as such is not very efficient. Personally i would rather use a motor lock in the door. This would require drilling through the door, which can seem a bit scary, but is a much neater, and more efficient solution
At least show people how to install this up to code by not creating a man trap. How are you suppose to release the mag-lock without an exit button or REX motion? and no using the lite reader does not count as an egress device.

Just install it in your house. The magnetic door lock might not be the best but the mechanical door lock would work fine.

I am so glad I don't have a metal doorframe, it looks easy in the video but I am sure cutting that shape with an angle grinder would be messyyyy

They recently released an enterprise hub that allows control of up to 8 doors.
Will other Magnetic Locks work with the Door Access Hub? Or are only unifi magnetic locks compatible?

How many Electric Striker Locks can one access panel handle? Say if I have two doors in succession & close together in the same corridor...
do you require additional power from the controller for the 12v electric strike or does the power come from the poe in the switch

Why is there no measurement listed on your website for the depth of the face cut out in a metal frame. There isn't even a template on your website.
