Just in case, the independent variable is the different types of peas/ beads, the control is the glass beads, and the dependent variable is the rate of cellular respiration. Good luck y’all!
Haha this is coo, we did the same exact thing in my AP bio class about a month ago. My teacher linked us to you, and youve been quite helpful, Thank you
Thanks alot for the video i just want to share this scripture John3:36 "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." Seek Jesus and flee form the wrath to come, Repent and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ. Mat 16:24 "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me."
Extremely helpful! I just did this last week and am writing up my lab. I think I know why I was evaluating my data wrong. It was at the last part of the video, you mentioned that the volume/capacity of the pipette was 1 mL. I was measuring for 9. Would that pipette happen to have a scale that reaches to 9, or was my pipette really that large?
Since the numbers are going from larger numbers to smaller numbers as the pipette fills, then to negative, are we just doing math at every measurement to get the actual measurement?
I'm so curious - why did he mix non-germinating peas and glass beads into one chamber? I understand that the volumes have to all equal the volume of the first chamber, but why not continue to add non-germinating peas until it reached 57ml?
Is there supposed to be any water inside the vials? If so, how does the water get in if the vials are sealed? Also, can the weights be put inside the vials or will that tamper with the results?
CAN YOU DO A RESPIROMETER BEFORE THE EXPERIMENT, TOO, IN ORDER TO MEASURE "the consumption of carbon dioxide by cellular respiration AND THE "the consumption of oxygen by cellular respiration" THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE EXPERIMENT
@@eliyoung9406 yep! the controls are the volume of air in each beaker/sampling bottle and the minutes taken to record data for each macroinvertebrate. don’t remember why they were used, but they remain the same, and so the final results are reliable and accurate
Anderson's videos have always been incredibly helpful to me as I have taught Biology, Pre-AP Biology, and AP Biology. Thank you, Paul!

Mr. Anderson should make an ASMR video of him cleaning out lab equipment
Hunter Wyssbrod I need your snapchat
My teacher uses your videos for our pre-lab assignments!!
you're a boss dude this helps so much
Should have been called "bossman science" instead
Thanks for helping me an hour before my submission time.
God Bless Mr Anderson and you all and your families🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️

I am already in University and i still watch this because i like the sound of pouring liquid and crystals... sounds so... relaxing
Thanks dude, this was very helpful for my AP bio class.

Dude you’re nuts lol
HES NOT WEARING GLOVES
nor eye protection. I mean not that I give a sh*t
Thank you, thank you, you helped me so much I'm so thankful 💗
Thank you so much! I'm going to do so well tomorrow omfg
Can you vlog
I love you.
Great video Bozeman!!
I heard about people using food colouring at some point in this. When would that be used?

Thanks boze been subscribing since day one baby #bozemeister #bozosquad
Generally speaking, Hank's a bit better for refreshing your memory. Bozeman is better for learning from the beginning.
i just did this lab last week! :D
Thank you so much

Where can I get non-absorbent cotton? I can't find anywhere. Pleaseeee??

Because then it would be 30 something dormant peas respirating against 15 germinating peas respirating, which messes up the numbers
nice respiration video
Thank you so much !!!!

Goat
why was having a tube with glass beads only important
It's a control
Yay new video!
很好,很好……
Love ur video but remember to say safe and wear proper PPE.
Hi Mr. Andersen - where do you get your peas? Fellow bio teacher.
What affect would cold water have on the results rather than room temperature water?
Coldwater would slow down the enzymes from carrying out cellular respiration -> less dramatic results.
poggers
Why did he add a cotton layer
He didn't want the peas to absorb the potassium hydroxide since that could affect the results.
And you're assuming that because..?
thnx
Greetings from Xavier as well!
Thanks for the video.
I think he missed a couple beads
Does anybody know what the controls in this experiment were and why they were used
no but i need to know. it's been 7 years did u find out yet
@@persontheperson0 lmaoooo bruh.

what about the worms
he can't say "I'm"
Use gloves, kids.
