THANK YOU for touching on the fact that some people use their bullet journals as their artistic outlet as well as a tool for organisation and mindfulness. The elaborate spreads are our way of expressing our creativity the same way some people like to draw or paint❤
❤️ it’s just as valid as any other way to make art!
I appreciate this message for almost the opposite reason. I love seeing people make these elaborate and decorative spreads because it really is a form of art, but it's always made me feel like I had to do the same thing. I take so long with making these spreads that I usually end up burnt out and exhausted by the time I actually need to use them. Making a plain spread seemed so sad when compared to other people's spreads and it made me feel super inadequate.
But it's nice for people to acknowledge that the decoration and these beautiful spreads aren't actually part of the organisation itself and that it's a form of art and expression. It makes it feel like my plain, typed-up planner is fine because even if it's not elaborate, that's just because it's not my preferred form of art.

@@ZaidaZombiePlays10 that's totally validge tbh. I'm actually an artist and I love drawing, doodling and painting where I can. But with journaling I have to restrict myself because I'll get so distracted with decoration that I'll burn myself out before I get a chance to use it in a functional way. And once I'm burnt out, I won't even want to look at it.

Spring in October.... Where I live November is the darkest and most depressing month of the year. And since I was born in November I'd gladly switch places with you Erin :D the idea isn't new to me, but still hearing about winter in June etc. is quite exotic. Love it. My bullet journal is more of a diary and a happy place than anything else.
It must sound wild to the northerners - I have never experienced a proper autumn! I don’t think there is a lot of media showing our opposite seasons - come Christmas we get bombarded with snowy scenes and fireplace imagery… while it’s roasting outside and we’re sweating away 😅 To be fair, winter in my city doesn’t really count, it’s still very warm! We joke Brisbane only gets two weeks of winter a year!
@@ErinSmith Huh, I live in north of Poland and we don't get propper winters anymore (with 3 meters of snow and -15° C). It's good if there is any snow at all. We also get bombarded with those images, but here it's like autumn most of the year and schorching hot days during the summer.
Wooow snow must be nice - I hope you get some this year! It doesn’t snow here in Brisbane, our winter day max temperatures are usually 18-23Cish. Especially this year, it was an extra warm winter!
Haha there are lots of Libra babies out there. I'm a twin and mine and my sister's birthday is 15th October. Ya know what's 9 months and 1 day before 15th October? Valentine's day 😂

I would not like to have every month as busy.. maybe it’s the dark and shiny that makes it busy for me. But for October? This is so beautiful and I would end up looking back at it whenever I open the journal❤ And nice touch with the nails and shirt matching the theme!

Absolutely stunning layout! Bujos are such a good creative outlet. I used to use regular planners until I discovered some youtube videos of bujos and I've not looked back. I just feel a lot more fulfilled when I can make something beautiful and feel happy looking at my plans and trackers, rather than allowing a plain planner to become a chore and having to seek out and not vibe with a bunch of other creative outlets. It's so much fun to make different themes and also more helpful to be able to try different trackers and pages to see if they're useful for me or not rather than have everything pre-made a certain way.

This is literally so cool! I love watching people decorate their bujos like this..but I know when I do it it’ll be too overwhelming 😂 I’m a very creative person but sadly also a perfectionist. So I usually just opt for planners that have already been printed..anyways I just love this!

Beautiful spread! I found your channel not long ago. I don't do Bujo because I don't have the creativity or the patience for it. I do (or try to do) just journal. But you sure are an inspiration. I wish I had just a little bit of your talent. I don't really like Halloween. I'm Brazilian and this "tradition" is starting to be "imported" in recent years, but it's still not that popular. For me, the month to "overdo it" with decoration is December.❤

I'm from the US. I've struggled with Halloween decor because it's not pretty and often leans on the gory side.
I like Erin's takes on Halloween. They usually involve florals and shiny sparkly bits. And they're pretty!
December is definitely a maximalist moment for me too Luciana! 🥰 Halloween isn’t really done here in Australia either - I think that’s part of why I like it 😂 because we aren’t bombarded with it like other places. And just for perspective, my first bullet journal didn’t look very good 😉 it has taken me six years to get here!

With the glue tape, overtime I noticed it needs the most solid flat surface, even the squish of the journal underneath effects it

You asked why the glue runner that you were using is struggling and I have a troubleshooting tip or two.
The wheel behind the roll sometimes gets the glue on it, making it hard to roll, and you can clear that our by pulling out the gunked glue with your fingers or a toothpick. This usually happens with me when I've been holding the tape at an angle too much.
Other than that, this is a beautiful spread!

I LOVE THIS SOOO MUCH😍😍😍!!!!! I knew your october set up was gonna be amazing but I didnt think that it was gonna be this spectacular😀😀!!! It was incredibly amazing with the gothic vibes, the shiny accents, and the amount of detals was just mwah! cheff's kiss. You are truley talented and this really made me think about how journaling is also an art its not only painting and coloring it can be journaling to. Yes, in the southern hemisphere we have the opposite season to the northern hemisphere. That’s why my September theme is for spring too.
