November is all about soft blue and peach tones for the final month of Aussie spring! You know a floral moment, so I'm going back to my roots (pardon the pun) for one last floral layout in 2023.

A very pretty and delicate layout.
As a fellow Aussie, I find it so refreshing to see Southern Hemisphere planning and not feel left out of all the planning videos.
We southern hemisphere planning people have to stick together! 🥰
I really like your November theme, even though November where I live is the exact opposite of your spring and flowery theme. But the flowers in November are really refreshing and the whole thing reminds me of Cinderella in a way. And it looks soooooo beautiful again…you are just a bullet Journal artist :)
Ohh Youna thank you so much! I hadn't thought of that but I absolutely agree - the Cinderella feelings are there! I think I'll enjoy using it even more now!
I really, really, really like the color scheme, and it somehow feels very Novembery!
I’m so glad you like it! 🥰🥰
So pretty. I am jealous that you are going into Spring. We are in Fall, about to slide into Winter😢 oh well. If I could afford it I would live 6 months in your part of the world, and here April-Sept. But I guess we need both, to really appreciate life as it is.
I love all the ideas I get from you!
We could swap if you like Becky - I much prefer the cooler months! 😉
This is some of my favorite aesthetic so I love it!
I love the colour scheme of this, so so pretty! Also really liked the Dutch door cover with the uneven edge, really need to try that ❤
Thank you so much! 😊
I'm not usually a flowers girlie, but these spreads are gorgeous!
Thank you so much Vivian! I'm so glad you liked it!
Regarding fountain pen inks (especially on fountain pen friendly paper like your notebook), I don't rub out any pencil markings until they're completely dry. A way to check is to move the notebook to see if there is still a "shine" of wet ink. Dip pens lay down more ink than fountain pens, so it takes even longer than normal to dry. Worse than gel pens. I treat it like water colour in terms of when to rub out the pencil. Glistening glass is a beautiful ink colour. I got a chance to try a friend's pen that had the ink in it. I loved the subtle shimmer to the ink.
That peach washi is absolutely beautiful. I loved how you could make the pattern expand width-wise. I never know what to do with busy tapes, so seeing this helps a lot. I tend to have a lot more plain washi to add a slight pop of colour. Lately I haven't even bothered with decorations due to the intensity of work and study.
I'm surprised to see November up so soon! But then you mentioned that you do content planning one month in advance and this makes sense. :)
Thank you so much for this - I am very new to dip pens and inks so I’ve got a lot to learn! It is a lovely colour, I was so sad when I ruined it 🥲
@@ErinSmith You're welcome Erin! As you can tell, it's a major hobby of mine. So if you have any questions about this area, I'm happy to help. Though I play in the fountain pen arena more than dip pens. I only started dip pen fun activities in July this year. I know a little about calligraphy inks (which is different!) if you also want to dabble in that too. Calligraphy inks work better with dip pens, but ruin fountain pens.
This PET Tape ist such a nice thing to decorate. Maybe I should buy some to. Thank you for showing me. It was a nice solution to cover the messed November in that way you do. It is good to see that even the professionals like you make mistakes in their bullet journal. I think the fun of doing it is the reason we do it and not that all is perfekt. 😊
Thank you so much! I have a few videos showing hauls from the Washi Tape Shop if you’d like to see more PET tape options 🥰 I love decorating with them!
It looks like you havent preped your quill hun, not everyone knows how to do this or that its something you even need to do but you need to hold a flame over the top and bottom of the metal nib, only for a few seconds but the ink wont slip off as fast and you wont need to re dip as often. Hope this helps ❤ love your videos ❤
I love the way it turned out. It's so florally and pretty! And the dutch doors are fun. I tried a cut away for my November that is similar to your cover! I need to get more creative in my next journal and try dutch doors more often.
Thank you so much Leah! I definitely go through dutch door phases haha - I'd love to see yours!
@@ErinSmith I’ll share when I decide to try it! Thanks for providing so much inspiration! ❤️
So cute and elegant!
Thank you so much! 🥰
Gorgeous setup Erin xx
Thank you!! 😊
Love this spread! Makes me want to use all my follower washi tape 😊
Yesss do it! 🥰🥰 thank you so much for watching!
Absolutely gorgeous 😍😍
Thank you so much! 🥰
Such a lovely theme. My November theme will be book related because of Nanowrimo.
Ohhh that's such a good idea Jen! Do you have a writing project you're working on?
@@ErinSmith I do, I have the fourth instalment of a fantasy story that I have been writing for the last three years
That was lovely. I was mesmerized by your elegant hand with the fountain pen. Simply enchanting! Do, please, incorporate that style and medium again. In December, perhaps? ✍️
Oh thank you Cathy! I was feeling a bit wary but you've inspired me, I'll try to bring it back for December - maybe in gold! No promises but watch this space haha!
@@ErinSmithoh gold would be lovely 😊😊
Ok so I did not do a freeze frame and zoom in but it look likes some of your nails goes with the Italian summer washi? I had never thought of using my washi as nail inspiration but now I have a couple of ideas! Thanks. And gorgeous spreads. Will keep them in mind for next March or April.
You have very sharp eyes! I always try to match my nails to my theme a little 🥰
@@ErinSmith i love that washi so when I noticed the nails I was … ok stunned is too strong a word… but kinda what I felt? Will have to look at my favorite washi and think possible nail art. Some interesting accent nails in my future😁

OMG YES I love this parallel!
Hi Erin, just want to ask what do you use in your bujo to stick a piece down that isn't self adhesive? Brand would be greatly appreciated 🐝. I am just about to start out bullet journaling after seeing you do yours and no other planners or journals suit my ADHD brain and bujo will be great for me in many ways, so thank you for introduction for me to bujo🌹🦋🐞
Hi Wendy! Oh I have some THOUGHTS on this haha!
I usually love glue tapes - I've tried a fair few and they're mostly good! Stationery Pal sell a very wide range of them - the Tombow ones are great! The one I have currently is from Bostick and I don't recommend it - I've only used half of it but it has suddenly stopped rolling properly so it doesn't allow any glue to transfer to whatever I want to stick. It's really frustrating!
For this video I was using a glue pen, which I got in a set of tools from JournalSay recently - there's a link to the set in the video description. I've been finding it works wonderfully! You can get into the corners of intricately designed paper pieces easily, which is great. It's definitely not as forgiving as glue tape though - usually if I change my mind on the placement of something when I've used glue tape I can peel that piece back up and relocate it, I don't think that would be possible with the glue pen!
I hope this helps! xx
Are you doing the lettering classes on Skillshare as well?
Some of them yes! Some on other platforms and in person.
As someone who lives in the US, it's actually refreshing to see a Spring theme for November, versus an Autumn one. I feel like I never see designs from the southern half of the world correlated to their seasons.
I'm watching this while setting up my 2024 bullet journal (yes, I know it's early, but I want to take my time), and I'm using a ton of stickers and washi tape as well... maybe I should pick up some PET tape.
That’s so reassuring to read - the biggest chunk of my viewers are in the US, so I sometimes worry about alienating northern hemisphere viewers but also I don’t want to follow the opposite season when it isn’t what I’m experiencing!
I’ve been planning my 2024 journal set up too, we are fellow earlybirds 🥰
