fun fact (and cool reference): in mercer's boss fight he was using special moves from the first game like 40:15 which is hamertoss an ability in the first game that allowed you to throw yourself into the air at high speed and it was a hammer fist ability and earlier in the fight he used a move similar to blade frenzy a blade ability which made the player swing around the blade and was mainly to kill everything that was in-front of the player,and even earlier alex used groundspike which was a claw move that made the player dig their claws in the ground and spikes would come out in-front of them this ability was given to the hammer fists in the second game

This was my favorite open-world single-player game it's a damn shame we never got a third game I hope some light gets set on this franchise in the near future

It may be do to release timing because there were a lot of games that came out in 2012, like Far Cry 3, Diablo 3, CoD Black Ops 2, Halo 4, Assassins Creed 3, Border Lands 2, Mass Effect 3, CS:GO, and some others, and people probably weren't interested enough in it, and there are A LOT of people who hated the ending, and while they could have done something else with the story, I don't think it should have led to it's downfall

Millions of innocent people would have died or become infected and would roam the streets being a slave to the virus. Whatever there was of Alex died in the first game's ending. As such he had to meet his end at the hands or... Well... claws of Heller. It also wouldn't have worked because Mercer was responsible for the death of his wife.

One of the odd things I discovered playing this game was that I had way more fun playing it disguised as a black watch soldier than as a mutant death machine. I fought several bosses with a machine gun, luring tank columns in for support, and played 90% of the game dressed as a black watch commander or scientist. I want a prototype game where it’s good guy CDC and you, mutant death machine, trying to contain the virus.

[PROTOTYPE 2] is a fantastic game. Sadly, the only thing that ruined it and made a lot of people hate it is the storyline. I mean [PROTOTYPE 1] we saw Alex Mercer as this anti-hero character, but at the end of day he did what he had to do in order to save everyone. Maybe the writing team had visions and a setup for a third game, hence why Alex Mercer became the villain in P2, which is justifiable since he was literally consumed by the virus! even his consciousness is no longer there, it's the virus that planned everything cause Alex is dead a long time ago. But maybe someday we will witness the comeback of this game, just imagine a new [PROTOTYPE] with nowadays game engines and graphical achievements, the possiblities are endless.

Mercer should have been so much more difficult to defeat. He was the original. He regenerated from practically nothing after a nuclear bomb. But these fights are so easy. Even on easy mode, these fights are too simple

The game holds your hand so much at this point in the game i'm like, "do i really need a slow-motion warning?" Also, Mercer is for some reason incredibly stupid for someone who was a scientist, Incredibly bad at fighting evolved despite killing the alpha hunter(in the previous game), and even after literally gaining skills from eating other people all that combined meant nothing. Where were his Devastators? Where was his Armor? Why does he only display high mobility to make room for a much slower jumping attack?

Yeah, on easy mode... All typo/derp moments aside... I remember beating him without really paying attention. The game holds your hand so much at this point in the game i'm like, "do i really need a slow-motion warning?" Also, Mercer is for some reason incredibly stupid for someone who was a scientist, Incredibly bad at fighting evolved despite killing the alpha hunter(in the previous game), and even after literally gaining skills from eating other people all that combined meant nothing. Where were his Devastators? Where was his Armor? Why does he only display high mobility to make room for a much slower jumping attack?
btone_95 Alex should have used his muscle mass and graveyard devestators And Should have been X100000 times more aggressive than he was.... tbh he should have went into his armor form and started grabbing you and slaming you a kicking you through cars and more ...the fight would have been much more fun ...and they should have gave Heller the armor form ...but the games not bad

unfortunately radical the producer of prototype reported that after the commercial failure of the P2 activition he does not want to give more funds to produce more games and now radical entertainment plays a small supporting role in activition games :(
