I had the great fortune to see the development and evolution of this track from a basement floor layout to the marvelously scenic and challenging layout that it has become. There was a significant amount of thought that went into its development that adhered to the planning of a great track but also simultaneously being cost conscious - from the table top cutouts that allow access to cars that have left the track to foam insulation that provides a platform for the grassy areas and hills, to the innovative schemes utilized for the trees, the gravel areas and the hills. In all the layout was a labor of love with the end product resulting in a truly fun and challenging track in which to race. Of course for anyone that has ever built a slot car track we know it is continually a work in progress.

I then glued a few extra tires together to make a rubber barrier incase a car hit the wall and used the same double sided tape to glue them down.

Great Track Anthony! I love your style. I live up in FoxCitys Wis. I remember watching some earlier videos of you just starting out with one set and building up. I can't for the life of me find those, but would love to look and learn from you. Trying to decide on my first starter set. If I remember correctly you started with two and added on?
Mike thank you. I really appreciate the kind words. I responded to your email but the server kicked it back. Do you another email? I want to send you some pictures. Please let me know. I sent you 11 emails with pictures that show my process. I thought they might be helpful. Sorry for sending so much info. Anthony
Thank you for your kind words. The tire walls are actually real slot car tires 1/32 scale. I had been given a bag of tires at a local hobby store. I glued them together usually 3 or 4 high onto a piece of black foam board cut to the size of the curve radius. A great thing is that the tires really work well when a car hits them at full speed. The cars simply bounce off. No harm to the cars or the tires.
Wow! What a track. Will you be so kind as to share how long and wide the track is? Also do you have a list of curves and straights used? I am planning to do a similar track in my basement and just love your lay out.
Beautiful setup! The detail is excellent. I really like the tree lined boulevards. Given the length of the track, did you have any power issues? Did you need to add extra power taps? If so, what was your criteria? Thanks!
Thank you for the kind words. Yes, I used 5 jumpers. In hindsight, I could've used a few more but the track's power is pretty well distributed over 140 feet.

Cool track. Sadly, a less helpful video..... It would have been nicer to have a better overview of the other half of the track, which looked really cool, rather than just focusing on the one side of the track with multiple close-ups on the same tyre barrier....
