It appears to be in Montreal but Just For Laughs didn't start until 1983.
You are correct! This was from a George Schlatter produced show called "Just For Laughs" that aired in 1978.
Holy cow, I always thought he'd just gotten less funny with age, but in fact he was never funny. Not hating on him, he was still a very good talk show host.

He bought his first car when he was in high school, so wasn't car-deprived, just passionate about cars. He's a super nice guy & does a lot for charity. He & Mavis never had kids & will be leaving their fortune to benefit their favorite charities.
