Why do I feel like either the Green Goblin is the amalgamation of lex Luther and Joker Or Lex Luther and the Joker are the split up version of the green goblin
I feel like the Green Goblin is more Professor Zoom/Reverse Flash than Joker. I totally agree with the Luthor part though, and that combination is terrifying.
not that killed him do anything because he just gonna revive anyway, then same with Joker, even if Batman really kill him, there is a chance he not really dead and just reappear, plotting thing behind his back. At least if Joker broke out of jail, Batman will know and search for him.
Most people are torn as to who Spidey's true archnemesis is: Green Goblin, Doc Ock, or Venom. It's clear who it is: Norman Osborn the great Green Goblin himself and it's because although it started as a conflict between their alter egos, it spilled over to both men's personal lives once they discovered each other's identities and turned into actual bad blood between the two. Even Norman himself, in Spider-Man's Tangled Web #13, admitted that he doesn't normally see the regular banter Spider-Man dishes out to his other enemies due to his hatred for him. The Goblin is the one nemesis that for Spidey, it's always personal no matter what. Peter feels completely obligated to kick Norman's ass no matter how you look at it because Norman has hurt him in more ways than one with acts such as Gwen's death, poisoning Harry's life with the Goblin legacy which in turn deteriorated his friendship with Peter and traumatized his wife Liz and son Normie, the entire Clone Saga, faking Aunt May's death, or even torturing him to make him accept the darkness and shatter his will. Neither Doc Ock nor Venom have hurt Spider-Man in the ways the Green Goblin has. Sure Venom knew his identity and his weaknesses but he never physically harmed Peter's loved ones as he deemed them innocent but he did use them as a way to simply get into Spider-Man's head. With Doc Ock the conflict has always been with Spider-Man not Peter Parker. Octavius was famous for his victory over Spidey during their first encounter, the formation of the Sinister Six, the Master Planner saga, his almost marriage to Aunt May, and most importantly, his swapping minds with Peter to become the Superior Spider-Man but if you ask me him stealing Peter's life was the only thing he's done that was truly personal in any way. No matter what, Norman Osborn will always be Spider-Man's archenemy. He's had insights into Parker that other's didn't and in a way sort of NEEDS Parker to be relevant (if you don't believe me, read the final pages of Marvel Knights: Spider-Man #12).
Venom ain’t even close to spidey’s arch nemesis. If people have the substance to look past the cool design, venom is honestly one of the lesser spidey villains.
I took a bet that Death of Gwen was number 1. But when it was 2nd, I was like "What da hell would be number one worst thing Goblin did?" Then I got reminded of something I forced myself to forget!
Bill Ly Whenever I see Gwen is dead on hands of Peter and goblin is up on the bridge of New york. It made me mad and think about killing goblin by peter over again.
I consider Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Venom (sometimes) all as Spider-Man's arch nemesis. I'd say Carnage but he's on a different level that is hard to define.
Carnage isn't really a nemesis because he doesn't care enough about Peter. He's just some random murderous lunatic who got lucky and got attached to Venom's baby symbiote. What make Goblin, Ock, and Venom great are their individual obsessions with Spider-Man; as the hero or guy underneath. And, they've just done way worse and crazy stuff to Peter whereas Carnage just... tries to kill him.
Flowey the Flowey Good point. I agree with you. Also he's almost always the subjects of his own series rather than frequently appearing in the Spider-Man titles and frequently combats Venom as well. Hence why I said he's hard to define.
It feels obvious to me that Green Goblin is Spidermans arch nemesis and his biggest and most important enemy but Venom gets more attention only because he looks cool and Doctor Octopus is more famous among people that dont care about superheros.
Fun Fact: Before Spider-Man got MJ pregnant, he made sure it wouldn't put MJ or the baby in any danger because of his radioactive blood. Beast from the X-men gave him the go ahead and assured him everything would be alright.

Interesting comments thread, but the likely reason it was above baby killing in secret probably had to do with basically having Spider Man kill someone he loved in a freak accident- but I'm sure if he'd made Spider Man accidently kill his own infant child, that'd easily earn a higher spot
Agreed. To be honest I always though this was Norman's most heinous thing he did to Peter. And to know he did that the same night he came back from the dead, revealed himself to be behind the Clone Saga, _and_ killing Ben Reilly? That just made it worse. Killing Gwen was pretty was pretty bad, and but killing Mayday (the baby'name) is what settled Norman as the Worst , in my opinion.
I took a bet that Death of Gwen Stacy would be number 1. When that was number 2, I was like "Wait what, was there something much worse than killing the super hero's girlfriend! And then, they f**king reminded me of something I forced myself to forget!

Half of the entries on this list could also be placed on a "Top 10 Worst Things Marvel Has Done To The Spider-Man Canon" list. Bringing Aunt May back from the dead is my least favourite moment by far. The issue where she passed away was perfect, and they had to go and ruin it.
Green Goblin is the archenemy of Peter Parker. (No one has fucked with his personal life more) Doc Ock is the archenemy of Spider-Man. Venom is the antithesis of Spider-Man. Hope I cleared this up.
Hiring an actress to pose as Aunt May and infusing her with May's DNA was just about the stupidest explanation the writers could come up with to bring her back. A clone would have actually made more sense. Amazing 400 and One More Day were both cases where May should have passed and Peter should have been able to move on with his life. For some reason though, Marvel can kill off other iconic characters but they just can't let the old coo die.
Genesis David Your question made me think about the morality of going back in time and murdering baby hitler. Do you think a baby would be super happy or miserable for the first two years of it's life?
@@Klausinator451 I would not kill Hitler as a baby. I'd take him from his miserable home and put him with a nice set of parents. Or whip his abusive father into shape.
i really wish they would give us a comic were gobin or someone like kraven goes to far one day and peter snaps and doesn't hold back wnd we can finally see how dangerous peter truly is when he isn't constantly holding back like what we got in the animated spiderman series when Kraven supposedly kills Mary Jane and Peter nearly hanga him with his Webbing and hes shouting "I'm going to rip you apart Kraven" seriously Marvel Spiderman is borig when you constantly have him be a goody two shoes
mikey kean There actually is a comic like this. I'm not completely sure, but I think it happens at the end of a story arc called The Gauntlet (the name's the part I'm not sure of), but I know it happens a year or 2 before Doc Oc puts his brain in Spidey's body. The Gauntlet story is essentially Kravens family kidnaps Madame Web and forces her (through torture) to use her powers of future sight to help them fuck up Spidey's life. The leads to them secretly manipulating a bunch of events that make a bunch of his villains more dangerous, such as them kidnapping Kurt Konners' son and allowing The Lizard to kill him which results in Konners snapping and The Lizard taking permanent control of his body. After doing this for months, Kraven's family starts attacking a number of other spider themed heroes including one of the spider women, and Kaine Parker, who was another clone of Spider-Man, except he was a killer and a selfish dick most of the time. When Kraven's family goes after Spidey himself with the help of a number of other villains like Chameleon and Mysterio, with the intent to use him as a human sacrifice in a magic ritual to bring Kraven back from the dead after he killed himself, Kaine knocks him out and takes his place, allowing himself to be sacrificed in Spidey's place. After Kraven comes back and finds out that the Spidey they killed was an imposter, he leaves Kaine's body where Spidey will find it when he comes after him. After seeing Kaine's body, and realising that the first unselfish thing Kaine ever did in his life lead to his death, and knowing that it was for his sake, Spidey snapped and went after Kravens family in a fit of pure rage. He fought both of Kraven's son's, one of which had been turned into some kind of lion monster, and seriously wounded Kraven's wife by using his wall sticking ability to basically tear off a part of her face. While these fights are happening, Kraven actually says that Spider-Man is being so much more aggressive and violent, he's acting more like an animal than a person. When he fought Kraven himself, he overwhelmed him, got a hold of his spear and was about to kill him. The only reason he didn't is because Madame Web passed her powers to the previously mentioned Spider Woman before dying and that Spider Woman used her new powers to show Spider-Man what kind of person he would become if he killed Kraven. The comic actually shows a few pictures of that future, such as Spidey killing Doc Oc, getting kicked out of The Avengers, and beating up Harry Osborn as Peter Parker. The story ends with Spidey backing down and letting Kraven go and Kraven taking his family to The Savage Land to get ready for the next time they face Spider-Man.
Sins Past maybe cannon officially, but it ain't cannon for me personally when I look back at Spider-Man's history and stories. It was a complete crap story, and personally I believe her character would never cheat on Peter, ever, especially with Osborne. Hell, she loved Peter completely and they never slept together, then Osborne shows up and she instantly gets into bed with him, someone she barely knew at best. Bad story writing, s******* on a classic character who should have been left well alone. That story should be announced as none cannon, it would please a lot of comic fans.
the green goblin would literally steal spider-mans credit card then help him get it back only to reveal that he had it with him the whole time norman is straight up petty as hell
Do you remember when Norman travelled back in time when Peter hadn't been bitten yet by the spider and "befriended"him under the persona of Skip Wescott?
Green Goblin is a perfect combimation of Joker and Batman -He has a double life of a Rich Buisness man and a Vigilante -He laughs manically and wears green and purple -He uses his company’s tech for his costume and gadgets -He has messed up plans and damages characters mentally
Aside from what was on the list, Norman rejecting his chance at redemption and willingly becoming the Green Goblin is indeed where he’s reached the point beyond redemption. Norman truly became the Goblin at that moment.
My friend and I have had the discussion of what heroes can never sit and have a cup of tea with their arch nemesis, as in the arch nemesis went too far. For instance, Reed Richards and Dr. Doom can sit down for a cup of tea. Batman and Joker? No. Spider-man and Green Goblin definitely fall on that list. This could be a good Top 10 for you. Other heroes and arch nemesis' that could never get lunch together: Daredevil and Bullseye, Flash and Eobard Thawne (Reverse Flash), Captain America and Red Skull, Judge Dredd and Judge Death (not sure how that would work anyways), Aquaman and Black Manta...
Christopher Vorenkamp Oh, I don't know. Doom has done a lot to Reed, including making him kill Ben Grimm. It was either kill him or let Johnny die. The real issue is that Reed is just...too detached from life. He never seems to hold a grudge.
Then he sold their marriage to Mephisto to give Aunt May a little more time. After not only Aunt May but GOD told him to let her go and it'll all be OK.
Flash: Wears red, sometimes wants to kill his enemies. Spider-Man: Wears red, sometimes wants to kill his enemies. Iris West: Is a news reporter. Mary Jane: Is a news reporter. Wally West: Both names start with w, is black and is a kid version of the Flash. Miles Morales: Both names start with w, is black and a kid version of Spider-Man. See how much they have in common?
Number 6 should be number 1. Anyone with kids would agree. Killing an old girl friend is easily number 2, but the death of a child is the worst pain anyone can feel.
That is why modern Marvel comics suck. They are always bringing characters that were dead and buried back to life. It is as if this new comic writers just can't deal with death. Hell, the Green Goblin had an epic death, but then, 20 years later, a bunch of idiots thought '' Hm, lets bring him back to life with a lame explanation''. And not only that. They also thought '' Hm, I've always fantasized about the Green Goblin fucking Gwen Stacy. Let's put that in a comic too!''.
Hello hi exactly I don’t get how annoying fans still love him I mean no one complains about this but complain about OMD. I blame marvel editorial and fanboys for the revival of Osborn ever since #6 I’ve despised him with a passion as a character from then on
This could of been 10 Reasons Why to Stop Villains form Learning your Secret Identity. Almost none of these terrible things would of happened if he had prevented him from learning his secret identity.
Whole Wheat Potaterz | On top of that, this guy wants to know about superheroes he doesn't know but should. if you look up simply "Static" that won't get you anywhere. if you search "Static Shock", oh look, there he is.
except that Venom #1: Killed Spider-man #2: Knew his identity from the start, because the symbiote was attratched to spider-man #3: has consistently targeted Spider-man's friends and family #4: has nearly killed Mary Jane 3 times #5: even Possessing Mary Jane and turning her into a wicked monster known as "She-Venom"
in several comics he has, mind you they are older comics. including one where Venom killed Spider-man on a tropical island by throwing a flaming truck on him which exploded and incinerated the weak spider. Venom went to check the scene after the flames died down to find a crumpled burnt suit and the ash-covered bones of peter parker within that very suit
....but we see later in a newer version of the clone saga that a new one is organized by Jackal and run under the company New U, however we later find out that Jackal is actually Scarlet Spider
kylehasstyle138 Ultimate Green Goblin was a joke. Completely delusional. Not to mention his origin is stupid. How does being injected with Oz infused with his own DNA turn him into a fire producing green scaly monster? Spider infused Oz gave Peter spider-like speed, strength, and agility...it did not make him into a giant spider creature.
I heard that when it comes to Ultimate (comics not show, completely different despite name) The spider that bit Peter was a spider from Oscorp, Osborne knows about it and claims that said event was what he calls a 'fluke' and that he could do better than that and creates the Oz Formula but.. He becomes a hulking pyrokinetic monster who suffers from nightmarish hallucinations taunting him about Parker being better than him or something. Overall I've always considered Goblin to be the best Spider-Man villain, possibly in the top 5 for Marvel villains altogether
I honestly wonder why venom isn’t spidey’s arch enemy. Not only are they on par with eachother, but venom wants to dismantle spider-man peice by peice.
You should do a "10 worst things Doc Ock has done to Spider-Man" video because I never even considered him to be on the same level as the Green Goober. I want to see how his acts stack up to see who Spidey's definitive nemesis is.
Sergei Kravinoff is the original, "Kraven the Hunter." Chameleon a.k.a. Dimitri Smerkyadov is his brother. Aloysha and Vladimir Kravinoff are his first 2 sons. Sasha Kravinoff is his wife. Ana Kravinoff is his daughter. Then he had a ton of clones of himself created and one of them survived and Kraven claimed him as his son. This son takes up the mantle of Kraven the Hunter when he accidentally kills his father when Kraven dresses as Spider-Man.
number 6: killing a baby
number 3: unmasking spiderman
what?
Luke Krainer right XD?!?
I don t Think that s a TOP 10..more like a simple list
the unmasking of spidey resulted in the killing of a baby xD
Unmasking spiderman could indirectly kill many people, and if we are treating all human life the same, one outweighs the other.

What Joker is to Batman is what Green Goblin is to Spider-Man.

Or whip his abusive father into shape.
i really wish they would give us a comic were gobin or someone like kraven goes to far one day and peter snaps
and doesn't hold back wnd we can finally see how dangerous peter truly is when he isn't constantly holding back
like what we got in the animated spiderman series when Kraven supposedly kills Mary Jane and Peter nearly hanga him with his Webbing and hes shouting "I'm going to rip you apart Kraven"
seriously Marvel Spiderman is borig when you constantly have him be a goody two shoes
mikey kean So...the One More Day storyline where Aunt May gets shot?
TheBlues32 Peter never sold his marriage to the devil, what are you talking about?
mikey kean There actually is a comic like this.
Take any instance where Parker has worn the Symbiote
mikey kean there is the back in black what if... he kinda impales kingpin with a punch in the guts
Jon Arbuckle Ifkr.. What was Marvel thinking?
Sometimes I wonder how could Stan Lee allowed this decisions without his approval..
Same. Ignoring that bs story line is what i do too and i perfer Gwen over Mj especially Emma vs. Kirsten
Spider-Man is my favorite superhero it just makes me sad when Green Goblin does something bad to him I think Green Goblin did way more
the green goblin would literally steal spider-mans credit card then help him get it back only to reveal that he had it with him the whole time norman is straight up petty as hell
I'm glad there is a channel specifically for comics now
Do you remember when Norman travelled back in time when Peter hadn't been bitten yet by the spider and "befriended"him under the persona of Skip Wescott?
Jeez I remember when this channel only had 77 subscribers
nhoj084eva where did the time go eh?
Damn! I thought Joker was crazy. But Goblin is 10xs worse. His death in Spider-Man (2002) is very satisfying
Ben better scream a crazy hashtag in this episode
Drew Anderson was you pleased
Drew Anderson DON'T ENCOURAGE IT!!!
Drew Anderson done
Drew Anderson #Sh*tInfanticideFanaticForW*nkers!!!!!!
Geek humour is terrible
#1 is unfortunately outdated because it turns out that Norman & Gwen's "kids" are actually clones created to torment Spider-Man mentally.
Doc Ock isn't his arch nemesis.
It's the Green goblin, and always has been, with Venom being close to that.
Green Goblin is a perfect combimation of Joker and Batman
-He has a double life of a Rich Buisness man and a Vigilante
-He laughs manically and wears green and purple
-He uses his company’s tech for his costume and gadgets
-He has messed up plans and damages characters mentally
Hello fello NNEEEEEERRRRDDDDSSSS!!!!
Hello NNEEERRRRRRDDDD
Ronald Coleman Hello Brother NNNNNNNEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!
Ronald Coleman Good Day NNNNNNEEEEEEERRRRRRRDDDDDDSSSS
AWESOME BEAR - - q
Ronald Coleman to
green goblin is basically a mix between batman, iron man and joker
its amazing
Gobby is one of Spidey's most personal enemies.
Aside from what was on the list, Norman rejecting his chance at redemption and willingly becoming the Green Goblin is indeed where he’s reached the point beyond redemption. Norman truly became the Goblin at that moment.
I'm pretty sure all the Spider-fans and even MARVEL wish the No. 1 Never Happened
JAAM TheAnimated wish no.6 never happened
No. 6 and No.1 are wayy too fucking dark
and now its powerbombing spiderman through a whole apartment complex
Your forgetting the time green goblin turned peter into carnage
he killed Spiderman's baby=saving his life
My friend and I have had the discussion of what heroes can never sit and have a cup of tea with their arch nemesis, as in the arch nemesis went too far.
Reed is on speaking terms with Doom some of the times.
Christopher Vorenkamp Oh, I don't know. Doom has done a lot to Reed, including making him kill Ben Grimm. It was either kill him or let Johnny die.
The real issue is that Reed is just...too detached from life. He never seems to hold a grudge.
Lol I just imagined Spawn having tea with the Violator.
I'll never forget that butt whoopin' he got from the first Spider-Man movie 😂😂
3:22 MJ is so damn sexy! Good for you,Spidey!
Then he sold their marriage to Mephisto to give Aunt May a little more time. After not only Aunt May but GOD told him to let her go and it'll all be OK.
@@DerangedAvenger in the process, sacrificing Mayday Parker, his baby. The future Spider-Girl. So messed up.
@@mmirlas2820 In another timeline, he decided to let Aunt May rest. Then Mayday was born.
As somebody who is not into comics these “Ten worst things a superhero/super villain have done” lists are so lit!
"when NORMAN BATES spidey," just felt like it needed to be heard
Number 6 should be number 1. Anyone with kids would agree. Killing an old girl friend is easily number 2, but the death of a child is the worst pain anyone can feel.
So this guy is basically the Joker of Spiderman. That's legitimately cool.
I blame marvel editorial and fanboys for the revival of Osborn ever since #6 I’ve despised him with a passion as a character from then on
Glen Gorblin really hates Peter Palmer.
The thumbnail got me
"Norman Baits Spiderman." I see what you did there.
Ten hours of him saying wanker
This could of been 10 Reasons Why to Stop Villains form Learning your Secret Identity. Almost none of these terrible things would of happened if he had prevented him from learning his secret identity.
Superheroes nobody knows about but you totally should
Flat Man
Static Shock
Bryan Solano | I know his name. I just refer to him as Static Shock, it just sounds better to me.
Whole Wheat Potaterz | On top of that, this guy wants to know about superheroes he doesn't know but should. if you look up simply "Static" that won't get you anywhere. if you search "Static Shock", oh look, there he is.
JOSVPH people know static shock from the cartoon
In the recent Clone Conspiracy event wasn't it revealed that it was in fact Peter that killed Gwen as a result of the web line stopping her suddenly?
Say what you want about the 2000 Spiderman goblin, he's still my favourite version.
The snap on her neck was added later. My dad had the original comic and showed me it. That's why there's controversy behind it.
I hope you guys include The Walking Dead Comics as well in future videos. Got my sub so far (:
No matter what, Goblin will always be the best Spider-Man villain of all time
except that Venom
#1: Killed Spider-man
#2: Knew his identity from the start, because the symbiote was attratched to spider-man
#3: has consistently targeted Spider-man's friends and family
#4: has nearly killed Mary Jane 3 times
#5: even Possessing Mary Jane and turning her into a wicked monster known as "She-Venom"
Kalarias the Dark God of Omnicide venom didin't kill spiderman that was anti venom
in several comics he has, mind you they are older comics.
including one where Venom killed Spider-man on a tropical island by throwing a flaming truck on him which exploded and incinerated the weak spider. Venom went to check the scene after the flames died down to find a crumpled burnt suit and the ash-covered bones of peter parker within that very suit
Kalarias the Dark God of Omnicide name of The comic?
i'll have to scrounge up the name, but it DEFINITELY happened
He didn't kill Spider man that time. Peter faked his death
this is the day I shed a tear for Spiderman
Seems a little odd to forget that he literally killed Spider Man
Let's not forget that one time he actually managed to kill Peter when he was still technically a kid!
The only villain worse than Green Goblin is Sony.
Kidding Sony, sorryish?
Can you not?
Can you just not
Have you played the new game?
@forever you fool
You just triggered the Sony hate base
@forever (⊙_ʖ⊙)
Fans: We want Spider-Man 4!
Sony: I missed the part where that was my problem.
....but we see later in a newer version of the clone saga that a new one is organized by Jackal and run under the company New U, however we later find out that Jackal is actually Scarlet Spider
Worst things Spider-Man has done to Spider-Man
Killed Gwen Stacy
no he didn't
the Green Goblin is spidey's greatest enemy
I thought Ultimate Green Goblin was such an excellent character. He was more interesting and intimidating than his 616 counterpart
kylehasstyle138 nah both are great Goblins
kylehasstyle138 Ultimate Green Goblin was a joke. Completely delusional. Not to mention his origin is stupid. How does being injected with Oz infused with his own DNA turn him into a fire producing green scaly monster? Spider infused Oz gave Peter spider-like speed, strength, and agility...it did not make him into a giant spider creature.
I disagree, honestly. He was kinda bland and he was just crazy. Not much of a motivation involved.
Why is it called marvel 616?
the green goblin is what would happen if batman was the joker
Norman baits spider man...
Norman baits.....
OMG NORMAN BATES
Quackmare
lol
I honestly wonder why venom isn’t spidey’s arch enemy. Not only are they on par with eachother, but venom wants to dismantle spider-man peice by peice.
Killing and sleeping with his girlfriend?? Green Goblin is a sick bastard. lmao
Norman Osbourne is the kind of character that Marvel could kill off in every issue and no one would have a problem with it
5:33 SPIDEY'S VILLAN LIKE:BRUH
You should do a "10 worst things Doc Ock has done to Spider-Man" video because I never even considered him to be on the same level as the Green Goober. I want to see how his acts stack up to see who Spidey's definitive nemesis is.
Can this channel just do a full video trying to explain the Kraven family history? (Seriously, it's really complex)
Well the Chameleon is Kraven's brother, or at least his half-brother
Jargon Madjin isn't the white tiger kinda related to him?
Sergei Kravinoff is the original, "Kraven the Hunter." Chameleon a.k.a. Dimitri Smerkyadov is his brother. Aloysha and Vladimir Kravinoff are his first 2 sons. Sasha Kravinoff is his wife. Ana Kravinoff is his daughter. Then he had a ton of clones of himself created and one of them survived and Kraven claimed him as his son. This son takes up the mantle of Kraven the Hunter when he accidentally kills his father when Kraven dresses as Spider-Man.
We all know Stilt-Man is Spider-Man’s true arch-nemesis.
Sins Past never happened nope we never talk about that shit fest ever, absolutely hate that storyline, it's iconic for being shitty
No spider man's baby will never turn to spider-girl!
What is the name of the whistle song in the background of this video?
And this is why it's a very bad idea to say yes to everything writers proposes to you !
How marvel should do the clone saga with Adam b
Greenie Gobie looks like he's just tickling Spidey in the thumbnail.
DatsRandom Yeah GG's nails totally aren't digging into his chest.
Moon aggressive tickling
Seemed unwise for Peter to marry Jane....... get it? xD, no but seriously that was unwise, people go after her now
Green Goblin will always be Peter's arch enemy. Like Joker is to Batman and Lex is too Superman
