    You are not just structural/mechanical parts. Your body is not compartmentalized parts. You are the whole. Treating your body as such as if fixing broken machines does not make sense, does it? There's a good reason why structural correction isn't the solution to your health and wellness. Treating your body systematically and holistically makes more sense.
    When you experience pain, you may want to fix where you feel pain. You may think where you feel pain is the problem that needs fixing and correction. Pain is not a necessarily indication of injuries, particularly in chronic conditions. Pain, tension, fatigue are the reflection of the state of nervous system.
    We can appreciate our body even more and we can understand our body better and we can improve our health and wellness more if we study our body from a perspective of nervous system. Studying our body and movement from a perspective of nervous system gives you a much broader understanding of your body and functions. Studying babies's development is exactly that. So we've all been through without even being aware of that. We can now once again study our body and functions through lens of babies:) This sounds more fun than reading anatomy books, doesn't it? Learning movement and our body should be fun. We make it very serious as we make it about fixing our body like fixing broken machines. We are not machines. We don't function like machines. We cannot fix our bodies like mechanical objects. We are the nervous system. We are our body. We are our mind. We are the whole. We can connect with our body and sense our body and learn about our body from the inside out just like we did way back when we were a baby, small child. There was no goals, no judgement, no right or wrong then. It's never too late to start this process once again. New possibilities become available from here. Your strong beliefs that you cannot change keep you from seeing new possibilities.
    Let's move beyond fixing mechanical parts, correcting structure. Let's connect with your body, and learn about your body, the whole, YOU!

    I've gone through life tightly coiled always prepared for fight or flight beginning with first grade. That was 75 years ago and over the years my pain has progressively worsened until even turning over in bed or getting out of a chair to walk is an ordeal. I've tried aerobics, weight training, many forms of yoga, grounding, vegan diet, carnivore diet, supplements, etc. The one thing I had not tried until recently is restorative yoga which essentially is being instead of doing, just breathing and letting my body release into the earth. This morning I suddenly found I could step up on a curb with my right foot. That leg has not worked properly all year. I noticed I could walk freely and without much pain. I truly believe in the mind body connection and we just have to find the connection that works for us. Thanks for your videos on this topic.

      I call it being chronically on call like a Dr or fireman etc. We chronically release cortisol by doing this. By the time I was tested my morn blood level was almost non existent. I had to take prednisone in 2013 now almost off. Many things have helped but like you seeing myself without judgement or analysis was the major first step. IMHO it’s slowly become the norm for most of humanity due to our world and not getting easier. I had to change the way I saw stress and challenge incl pain. Books and talks by Jiddu Krishnamurti helped (he has no modern comparison). I wish you peace and good health.

      That's very encouraging! Have you read a book called "Brain's Way of Healing" by Dr.Norman Doige? If you have not, I highly recommend it.

      I think I have something similar when I am out and about I am constantly checking everything for dangers and hazards. Mainly people and objects etc. it’s not tiring because it’s normal to me. But it has the stress which you say which causes me bad circulation

    I have sometimes panic attacks and feel like I can't breathe. I realized that my neck and shouders were supple and relaxed after the movement. THANK YOU sensei!

    Perfect! As I posted before, I am quite familiar with vipassana meditation (~20+ years) and that this exercise is resonating to my experience in vipassana (specifically meditation re breathing, it is called ana pana ). My point is that there is certainly a common issues that is addressed here between what you are proposing and what vipassana/ anapana is pointing although there may be differences. Your instruction of breathing while bending the posture sideway is quite unique and invigorating. My best wishes!

    I have chronic fatigue and am also asthmatic. I am currently in an asthma flare up and my lung function is at 62%. I have always had a difficult time with breathing exercises, especially in holding or rhythmic breath. This technique I could do! I even started yawning. Thank you! I am looking forward to continuing this exercise.

    Thankyou so much for this . This was wonderful for me in so many ways. First i grew up in the female stomach must be flat or more (ya, insane) I managed to heal that problem when i was singing and later on played flutes. Then i forgot. I have anxiety troubles and we all know that is so connected to the breathing - and the fibro pain. and around the cycle goes. So i told the message 'suck in your stomach: - To shut up and did this wonderful set of exercises . Also ignored the Diet Ad that came up in the middle. i dont' think these are accidents - it's dumb. Thankyou for helping us with these videos

      @@TaroIwamoto still can't go to sleep though - seriously anything for that - i go 3 to 4 days on a regular basis then pass out for half a day. i don't really have a life and i'm tired of the stupid suggestions like - don't sit at the computer, or no coffee before bed. i'm in bed all the time now, so bed time means nothing.

    I have nerve irritation in my back which affects my legs. I do yoga but find sitting fir periods and lying in bed tightens everything up. I will look forward to trying these breathing exercises. Thank you 😊

    I have fibromyalgia and restricted breathing pattern. Your exercise is simple and effective compared to breath holding techniques.
    As abnormal breathing pattern uses the neck muscles a lot, do you have an exercise to reset Neck muscles Tension?
    My vital capacity only improved after the eyes ,jaw and neck tensions were released.

      Similar to this video, but very simple way to reset your nervous system, which will reset muscular activities (downregulate over active muscles such as neck, jaw, chest, back, etc).

      The nervous system directly controls the body, so how you work with your body can influence how the nervous system interacts with the body. Thus, movement retraining is powerful!

    I have started the nervous system retraining and have experienced improvement. I walked further today before l experienced discomfort. I find the side bends a little awkward, do you do thoracic or abdominal breathing. Thank you l am looking forward to your next video 🥰

      very cool! I do not do any conscious and particular breathing. I observe how my body moves in different positions, and create different breathing options, and allow my nervous system to integrate:)

    Interesting, I noticed that my habitual breathing pattern was different on each side. My right side used to breath more in the chest while the left was more into the belly. This explains why it was sometimes hard to lay still while doing breathing exercises.

    Sidebending and expanding gently hurt moderately at the point where I sometimes get piriformis/sciatica pain. My pelvic area is very tensed and I also have scar tissue.
    The exercise feels gentle enough, so it's probably an ok way to train that area?
