PPG ENVIROBASE AND EC520 CLEAR COAT

PPG Envirobase reduced 2% yes (2%) 1 even wet coat 90 percent over lap 1 medium wet coat 90 over lap then 1 control coat booth temperature was set at 90 degrees for base application base was sprayed over waterborne primer the primer was sanded with 400 then 600 and finished with 800 the booth temperature was then lowered to 85 degrees for clear coat the clear is PPG EC520 with ECR 75 reducer bake time was 20 minutes at 155 degrees total base was 8 ounces before 2% reduction and clear was 11 ounces and blending solvent was sprayed to all Edges

Hey brotha I’m getting a lot of die back from the ec520 we spray envirobase have you encountered any and what do you do to prevent it

Are you using the ECR Reducer and I highly recommend a 1.3 tip and turn down the fluid and apply two even medium wet coats back to back bake for 18 minutes at 160* go straight to bake the key is the ECR Reducer make sure to use the reducer for the proper booth temperature and DO NOT HOSE the clear on it will dye back and how much are you reducing your base coat I only do 2% and this is not a problem or a joke
