    I was recently in the market to buy an entry level ADV and had my heart set on the himalayan. I wanted to like the motorcycle , after all its an all Indian Royal enfield Motorcycle but i was given a rude awakening by the level of professionalism from the folks at RE. I went to the dealership thrice and no one bothered attending to me , a customer out to buy a motorcycle ( i shudder to think how they must treat people seeking after sale support) The second time when i finally did manage to catch someone’s attention i was told they had misplaced their Test Ride motorcycle. THE DEALERSHIP MISPLACED THEIR TEST RIDE BIKE!? . Eventually when i went to a third dealership and managed to ride the motorcycle i found it extremely lack lustre and combined with all the himalayan horror stories i decided to pull the trigger on the 310GS. It’s been 5 months now and i have had no issues. I could have just as easily picked the 390 or 250 duke. But RE needs to do something about its complacency.

      310Gs is a very good machine, only the deal breaking side is its service cost for many buyers.

      @@live2ridethefeeling99 yes sir that is true but the thing not a lot of people know is that the service interval is double that of similarly priced RE and KTM motorcycles. The service is expensive no doubt but this just takes the sting out a little bit.

      @@TheDashmesh Yes many fail to realise the frequency of service, but I guess people are focused on spending a lot immediately. How are the spare costs? My issue with BMW is the lack of service network. Traveling 250kms for service is insane.
      I had similar experiences in multiple RE showrooms, and I went to RE service with my friend once & my colleague another time, there too I found too much ego.
      I'm thinking about 250ADV, I honestly don't require the extra power that 390 offers.

    • @TheDashmesh
      @TheDashmesh 3 роки тому +1

      @@wheelsontarmac BMW will charge a pretty penny for service and spares. I paid somewhere around 7-8K for my first service which is definitely on the higher side for a 300cc motorcycle. Just for reference this is as much as i pay Kawasaki for my Ninja 650. I think the 250 Adventure will be a good choice. The reason i picked the 310 over the 390 adventure was the excellent suspension on the 310 and the general appearance of the beemer. Hope I could be of some help. Happy motoring!

    Don't buy Himalayan guys... Service sucks, customer care is worse, parts are difficult to get and worse part is if you will go to fix one issue other issues comes up. I spend so much om money to keep my Himalayan smooth for which I could have bought a new bike but still it is main in my ass. Please don't go for brand royal Enfield it just a name which blow your mind but the reality is very different. Invest your money on some thing better not for Himalayan. I am a fucked up owner of Himalayan. So I hate royal Enfield and their products. Thanks

    Its like comparing apple with nokia.
    First do ride a himalayan and u ll be like wow what a bike then ride Ktm250 adv, m pretty sure u ll be amazed . The beauty of the electronics is ossm man. Himalayan is a shit no tubeless tyre(a big issue) abs sucks.. switching abs sucks .. Brakes are ancient .. And the soft seat sucks too coz u gonna feeeeeeel the underneath of this damn seat after some kms on the highways. RE's service network is ossm but the service which is provided by RE is my azzz.. Overall it is a good offroad machine until it gets puncture and u ll be hopeless coz bike DHOKA dey chuki hai in the middle offfffffffffff nooooowhere. Fuel consumption is ossm in RE i mean btwn 25-28 and this is the damn inspiration to sell my bike.
    M buying ktm250 coz ye dhoka nhi deti and the frame of the bike is immortal and lighter then RE. I have also seen some videos on youtube that the bike brokedown into 2 parts in ladakh my god.
    Buy a himalayan and save 50000 or just pay 50000 more to have a refined and reliable machine with a brand-name KTM.
    If himalayan comes with tubeless tyre then u should consider it and also coz the torque is ossm in this bike.

      But if u ride single u should try yezdi scram..

    I want to like the 250 because it's too much hassle to get a 'proper' bike license. But the KTM is all show and not a real adventure machine. Price-wise, the Himalyan is a LOT more expensive, as well as needing a license I don't have - so I'll stick with my Kawasaki KLX250S and some panniers. Fitting panniers was awkward but I don't see anywhere to fit panniers on the KTM either. A very disappointing waste of time.
