I love how Disney fans get excited for ride malfunctions rather than being inconvenienced by them
When I went to Disneyland back in late February, I was hoping I’d get a ride breakdown… I was out of luck. All my rides were operational. ☹️😅
@@DavidJordao lol, everytime i go theyre fine
Every time I go to Disney World, the Haunted Mansion breaks at least once and I'm hoping for an in show exit to happen one day
@@DavidJordao people mover and the journey of the little mermaid are the rides that break down the most
Its even better when you get a fast pass
When I was little, my family and I broke down on Test Track right on the steep curve above the entrance. We had an in-show exit, and the cast members took pictures of us all flopped over in the car like crash test dummies! Definitely one of my best Disney memories
Wow such a cool magical moment 😱🤣
Wow
wonder how you felt-

They do in soarin too
Disney should have used Linux :D
I did not now that eter

This is why Modern Disney fails 😂
The evil queen really said "I'll try spinning, that's a good trick" 😂
Why is that base even set for a full 360 degree motion?
You spin me right round baby right round like a record baby right round round round.
Like nothing to see here everyone! lol
🎶(Turn around) Every day I consult the Magic Mirror and this is what happened to me🎶 (done to the tune of Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse Of The Heart")
We were on Star Tours and it started with no audio. Me and my sister and one other group were basically repeating the lines (this was before the redo). Between us we quoted almost the whole ride. People were laughing so hard. When the doors opened up no one moved and the next group was super confused. They let us ride again and as we left someone behind me said ‘man they must have been on this so many times, they knew almost all the dialogue’ 😅
We’ve done this on Spaceship Earth 😂😂😂
Brilliant
Amazing! Wayyyy too much fun!
i LOVE seeing the technical sides of how rides work, props to all the engineers that make these complicated machines for us all… and thanks to TPM for letting us in on these secrets!
They are call imagineers
12:01 ooh duck
Something super interesting about the Smuggler’s Run breakdown is that the words in aurebesh (the Star Wars alphabet) spell out “two” and “three” making me think that those are screens number 2 and 3, and there’s probably another one underneath the one at eye level.
I never miss a upload of this guy cause he is literally the Disney G.O.A.T
So True
Yes yes yes yes yes
he makes money off t-shirts while giving the peoples whose videos he uses jack
@jonnym They send him videos hoping to be featured on his channel. This is what they want. And 90% of his content isn't even these types of videos, he's just most famous for them, thats why he made merch with it.
Yes
Fantastic lineup of breakdowns as always. ^^ Since the last one was Splash Mountain, I should mention this story. When we were on the WDW version in November 2021, we were climbing up the last incline when we stopped right at the crest of it. It provided a good view while we were stuck for about 10 minutes. We even took a selfie up there. I thought we were getting an inshow exit since we saw the work lights on behind us at the bottom, but things were back in operation again afterwards. Still glad to experience it though. :)
At that point, it was probably easier to make the drop than to exit all the way backwards “through the house…”
On our honeymoon in 2011, we got stuck right under Indy. Sat there for some 15 minutes, Jones swinging away above us and getting a good glimpse of how the boulder works like we saw here in the video. They got it back up and running but the work lights were on, turning off right as we got back to the station. Thankfully we had an awesome cast member at our station who got a unanimous vote from our transport that we were hoping to go again, said “I got y’all!” reset our belts and sent us back through the temple!
The "oh nooooooo" after test track stopped was so genuine and made my day oh my lord
Your videos are next level. The superb editing, the technical know-how, the humor. You're in a league of your own TPM!
Really appreciate that!! Thank you😁
I absolutely loved when that little girl on Winnie the Pooh was asking her mom those questions. That was the cutest thing, I couldn't keep the smile off my face.
I really love this channel, always looking forward to new videos.
When the kid said sorry Indy we can’t save you right now I died laughing 😂 12:25
pete's jack hammer is causing an earth quake but 100* worse LOL
also breaking all the screens around it :D
As a former Annual passholder, I've been to Disneyland Resort many times, but only ever experienced 2 in-show exits. Once at Splash mountain, the log stopped right before the first incline of the ride. And second, at Indiana Jones, at the Boulder in the tunnel with Indy hanging above us.
I'm always curious about the tech, and honestly I like malfunctions in the ride more than the ride itself. But what really surprises me is that most of the rides are controlled by the Windows OS. I think the new Mickeys and Minnies Runaway Railway was completed too hastily. I think the show controller is not set up correctly, and the computers are connected to the internet to start updating suddenly. A typical Windows phenomenon. I work with the systems quite often, and I always do the norm of taking those computers off the global internet, and just setting up internal communication between the controllers so that nothing unexpected happens. It can also be done in other ways, but as a technician I find that malfunction careless. That could have been easily avoided. But, it's also hilarious to watch of course. Windows 10 (server) is apparently really a favorite to use for everything. The same for the Falcon. I don't remember this glitch before. (I follow attraction failures closely, you can call me crazy) But that Windows systems seem to appear again to run Unreal Engine, surprises me. I would have thought Linux drove the ride for some reason. I'm really curious to see the actual controllers that control the ride. I don't think anyone will get that chance, but still nice to get a glimpse of the system. It was another entertaining video, TMPvids. Keep it up!
Same here. It’s fascinating that those rides run on Windows. And unreal engine! It does make sense though, as for these large productions it’s usually proprietary hardware and software everywhere
I suspect Windows gets used because of either corporate contracts (ie Disney is contracted to use Only Microsoft Servers/Products or a Heavily Modified Version of those products for XYZ productions) OR the belief that Linux is 'Less Secure' due to it's open-source nature. At my workplace, our cyber security department sees Firefox (also open-source) as a vulnerability threat (something I learned when they emailed us that Firefox is not allowed on workplace computers...and our advertising department was put on blast for figuring out how to download Firefox in the first place) and we're only allowed to use Google Chrome/Microsoft Edge.
Only a guess, but seeing the technical side/theorizing about the malfunction is always fun!
If they are going to use MS Windows like that, updates should be configured so they are only done through an internal update server instead of the internet. Not to mention only doing the updates at night when the ride isn't running. Installing untested updates is a sure way to make a ride go down. Especially if you're running special software. :D
@@TianarTruegard That is indeed what I mean by "Internal communications" between the systems. In fact, setting up that system requires so little material these days that I could use it in exactly the same way at home if necessary. It's that simple, especially for Disney.
Sometimes updates indeed need to be installed to keep the system running, but (what I call it) classic Windows updates will only break the system.
I now think that they already set this up, but these kinds of things usually surface if the attraction was opened too early.
8:12 THIS WHOLE PART OF THE LITTLE KID ASKING QUESTIONS IS SO CUTE SKSLARIIJWNNJXID 😭😭
At 5:02 the guy just flat out said “ya we’re stuck in hell” I was rolling 😂
my family was about to get into pirates of the caribbean when the lighting and music stopped working. The cast member said we were welcome to still ride it in the dark and silence. So spooky and we all played music from the movies on our phones 😂
Boy does this put a much needed smile on my face. Having a hellish week and TPM never fails to make it a little better.
agreed
as being a part of a family who absolutely loves Disney and have been probably twice a year before covid, we've never have actually gotten an in-show-exit, but we have gotten broken down in a few different spots. My favorites probably had to be when we broke down on the Little Mermaid ride in Ursula's scene. the animatronics stopped moving but the sound was on and the projection on her crystal ball was still playing. Its honestly really cool to see Disney dark rides in show-light and to see the mechanics of in-the-dark roller coasters. TPM never fails to put a smile on my face after one long week.
Seems like anytime they stop it for wheelchair folks i'm in this room. "...Max larynjitus...' so funny. Howard Ashman FOREVER!
These are awesome! I wonder if your next Animatronic malfunction will include Murphy in California catching fire. That’s an animatronic malfunction for the books. It reminded me of the fire with the Steampunk Maleficent Dragon.
The most I’ve I ever had was an un-moving boulder in Indiana Jones, and an extended pause in the Haunted Mansion Holiday (which was rather confortable, because we got stuck right before the graveyard, in the part where the cars are going up a hill right under the living doll)
So Disney needs to create a ride that randomly breaks down, regularly, but in a different location each time. 😂
Here's a little story of when me and my family got stuck on a ride at Disneyland. It was towards the end of the day and we all wanted to do a ride that wasn't too much for our bodies, so we went on the pirates of the Caribbean ride. We were going through the part of the ride that had the fake canon ball explosions in the water near the end of the ride and all of a sudden, we came to a brutal stop. We were quite confused until we noticed the 20 something boat long traffic jam in front of us. Turns out that an elderly man had a hard time getting out of the boat. we didn't get to have an in-show exit (not too sure how they would manage that 😬) but the ride continued after about 40 minutes of waiting! if you've ever been on that ride, you'll know the "A Pirates Life for me" song at the end. That song is eternally engraved into my soul after playing on repeat for 40 minutes straight 🤣😭
Talk about being tortured by pirates! This be a fate worse than paying taxes to fat banking clans in Europe! Arggghhh!!! "... Yo Ho!"
3:55 that’s something we don’t see everyday a screen showing watch out
9:09 - 9:17 That guy who did TPMvids intro did an amazing job!
I love your content. It's good to see that the ride breakdown videos are back!! keep it up 👍
Who else always waits for notifications from this channel??
These fails are so great and its no surprise that people love these that Disney should just do full lights on walkthroughs of all their rides. People like me who make (or try to) models of these rides, it would be infinitely helpful to get a detailed look. I know that back in the day, Disney was worried about destroying the Magic, but with everyone filming these days from every angle and situation, i think its a non-issue anymore. They should life]t that veil and let us all look. Model builders, haunt builders, etc would be grateful. Especially if Disney did this using a 360 camera. They should especially focus on rides about to be rethemed or removed for good. I would love if they could have a Virtual Park visit where you can visit the park from different eras in VR. Visit the old park you remember from your younger days
You should do a compilation of splash mountain breakdowns!
the smugglers run unreal engine malfunction was absolutely awesome, i could say the same for the mickey and minnie malfunctions with the windows popup and the WATCHOUT screen
idk, for how many physical behind-the-scenes looks we get when it comes to in-show exits and work lighting, its really cool to get the same perspective in programming/software
11:02 My dude Gimli saying that the ride has been interrupted, pure gold!
i love these ride breakdown videos sm, i hope you do them forever and ever❤️
I was in Disneyland Paris last weekend, and we actually had TWO issues.
The ride at Phantom Manor stopped like three or four times (always very funny since we get a notification that some prankster spirits stopped our progress temporarily), and there was a 3D error during the Ratatouille ride.
It could be possible that they were letting a handicap person onto the Doom Buggies on Phantom Manor due to the Omnimover system.
Old Splash mountain will be missed
It's a well known fact that almost every Disney fan has "have a in show exit" on their bucket list.
When Test Track first opened, my sister and I rode it when it had been broken all day. That five minute ride took 25 minutes because our car never went above a golf car. The most hilarious part was listening to the audio that told you to hang on tight while fake tire screeching happened 30 feet in front of you! 😂 My favorite ride that I have never rode as it was intended.
Was in Disneyland California last month and unfortunately did not get an in-show exit. At Walt Disney World in Florida next month so my fingers are crossed for at least one!
Just what I needed on a sunday
My dad and I got stuck on the hill right before the backword part of Mt. Everest! Got a great view of the sunset though! Luckily we didn't have to exit the ride
Nice timing see what happened with the dragon at Fantasmic
I am going to DisneyWorld in a week and all the videos you are making are making me so excited for the trip ❤
What's crazy about that splash mountain finale is that both from the ride view and the train view it looks incredibly massive, but once you step on the flat level of things the illusion breaks. Definitely the coolest BTS video. Now we can cherish the scene forever.
Hello tpmvids I love your videos and updates for our next Disney vacation
My favorite In-Show Exit happened in 2016 at WDW’s Haunted Mansion, facing Madame Leota’s crystal ball with NO FACE! It was truly “haunted,” and the walkout at that spot was truly memorable. If only I had the nerve to film it with house lights on, but the cast member guiding us out asked that we please “not spoil the show…” Oh well…
Little random story, I and my mom went to Disneyland recently, and I got myself a chuuby shoulder pal, I decided I didn’t want him on my shoulder and tied him to my magic band and took him on all the rides, the first being big thunder mountain. We were at the lift hill on the outside near the coyotes, skunks, and opossums, and then we stopped for like two minutes. I was holding chubby by the foot up in the air when it suddenly restarted. We might not have gotten a in-show exit, but it was still interesting, we almost did on radiator springs racers though. (I’m sorry I’m sharing this :,) ) we were in the paint room when suddenly we became backed up for about 6 minutes. Again I had chuuby. We waited and waited. Ramone froze on the screen and it felt like he was staring into our soul- there were about 2 cars in front of us waiting to race, but nothing happened. I don’t think it was raining but I did loose my shoes from it 😅. Chuuby has endured much. It’s fun to see breakdowns though, even if it didn’t happen to you.
To absolutely nobody who might be curious, chuuby went on, in order, big thunder, pirates, Indiana jones, radiator springs racers, Jessie’s critter carrousel, incredicoster (in a bag along with other things), etc
Even more random stuff, PEOPLE WERE AGGRESSIVE ON RUNNAWAY RAILWAY. they shoved me and pushed me around because they wanted to be first in line :,)
Hi Tpm I’ve been watching since 2017!!!
Such a fun and informative video!
3:23 is hilarious 😂😂😂
These videos will never get old ❤❤❤
I love seeing malfunction breakdowns and in-show exits. These videos also make me learn the In-Show Exit Routes back to the park. Stay awesome TPMVids! I love your videos! 😊
I've been on Disneyland Space Mountain twice during a breakdown. Once, we were at the highest point and the other was right before the end. I was also on It's a Small World when it broke down. The song kept playing all the time. I was also, unfortunately, on America Sings in 1974 about twenty-minutes before Deborah Gail Stone was crushed to death on the ride.
The only In show exit I’ve had with Disney, was at Walt Disney world on the little mermaid ride. It was super cool to see the dark ride all lit up and I wish I would of recorded it. Some people think an I show exit would ruin the magic for little kids, but the kids in the ride with us were so thrilled!
Omg I love your vids
Been a while since you uploaded one of these! Hoping to see a malfunction or breakdown someday!
Hysterical merch and everything! I’m so proud of you TPM Vids!
On my first trip to Disneyworld in 2018, it was with a group of friends that are regulars. The rides broke down a lot, and each time my friend's husband kept yelling "Blame the newbie". It became a running joke throughout our whole 9-day stay. Love that memory.
Yes I haven’t seen one of these in forever I love ur videos
Tpmvids is the best!
Man, these people just love an in-show exit!
For me breakdowns are very special moments because you get to see things that you don’t really get to experience
My whole family had to wait in line for the Ratatouille ride because it kept breaking down lol, lucky it was working perfectly fine when my group went on a cart
i’ve never been this early!! i love these videos. i always watch these with my friend!!!
thank u tpmvids for these I love these videos
Still waiting for the day when I get a ride breakdown and/or in ride exit.
Love watching these videos!!
I used to watch tpm vids a WHILE ago. I have to admit, this guy is pretty fun. I'd recommend him to anyone I meet.
17:29 this is not what splash mountain wanted if this year is your last chance to ride this before it’s closing
This is the best ride breakdown video ever! Thank you, 🌹💐TPM VIDS!
5:07 Yooooooo Let's goooooooo
When I went to Hollywood Studios with my family last year, I made sure that we got to Rise of the Resistance as fast as possible (we stayed onsite so we utilized early park entry). After getting through the queue relatively quickly, the ride broke down right when we got to the doors that led to the pre-show. We ended up waiting around for like an hour.
Damn, the timing on this with the Maleficent fire
I have a good laugh when I see these.
Dude, you have some kind of formula, when you watch alone its always perfect, but when you watch this in the background while multitasking, it still grabs your attention!
I cant quite describe it but im basically saying you have a great channel ❤
Last year my family got stuck on Spaceship Earth, right in the segment of total darkness before the Mammoth projection scene. There was only the sound of whistling wind. My sister almost had a panic attack. But right when things seemed most grim, the ride booted up again.
On a much lighter note, several years ago I was riding Primeval Whirl with my dad when we had an in-show exit. It wasn't the most exciting since there weren't any of animatronics or anything, but I still had fun coming down the walkways :)
I love watching your videos. I have vivid memories of binging your videos before everytime I went so I can share some of the stories to the people in line. I haven't gone since 2019 due to covid, but we're definitely planning on going next year. Thank you for being such a big part of my childhood.
love everything about this video! subscribed!
Ahh that happened to us on Test Track once. We didn’t quickly launch outside, but rather, slowly crept out, got most of the way around the loop, then stopped. That circle is curved a lot more than you realize going fast, we were all trying so hard not to lay on my mom who was, unfortunately, on the bottom of us all turned sideways 😂 what a ride!
I’ve been on big thunder in Disneyland Paris but undoubtedly it did brake down because I love the inshoe exist
You should add the very recent Maleficent dragon burning to the next list 😂
Murphy could be a list all on his own with all that's happened to him since his debut
Love TPMvids content for the last 4 years keep up the good work!
Its always so nice to see TPMvids with his funny and awesome videos and keep up with the great work! Its even funny how they said they were stuck in hell like its a great thing
The only in-ride breakdown I ever experienced was on Test Track - a tiny bit further along than the guys in the video. In that curve. I was about 10 years old and sitting on the left side and my dad to my right and he kept moving toward me due to the incline and gravity. Also it was a super hot day and it took soooo long until the cars kept going. Not much fun but at least we got to ride again 😂
Love that you dedicate so much time to these videos!!
Hii I’m so excited for another video!!
16:48 All that black stuff on the floor is shreds of the rubber tires. I wonder through how many tires they go in a year. It's probably full rubber tires, but still. They fall down all over the place, you can see them anywhere underneath the ride track in the back stage area. On stage, they clean them up pretty fast, but if you look in the planters next to the ride exit, you can find lots of them as well. Free "piece of a ride" souvenir 🙂
let’s get tpm to 1.50 mil!
I've had this happen only once and it was at the People Mover in Magic Kingdom. Unfortunately, they did not let me film anything. They were very clear that everyone was to turn off their phones or hide them. We went down some stairs inside one of the buildings through which the ride goes, were given a LL Pass and that was that.
Your my favorite UA-camr! I get so excited when I hear that intro!!!!
I’m honestly so glad that people are excited about in show exits and saying hi to TPM Vids it’s so cool
Nice
Funny how you posted this where in Disneyland CA the dragon caught on fire yesterday 😭
Yessss I love seeing your videos pop up. I get so excited
Love a great ride breakdown video. 👍
And like that, my day is made! Also also, I could be going to Disneyland next month!!!! (Bonus: My bf is coming to Disney for his late bday present so I get to meet him!!!)
1:59 not again how could everything goes so wrong for big thunder mountain
Hi tpm! Iove your channel!
You did Murphy dirty. He deserves a mention.
My only question is, if you were in a wheelchair or had mobility issues, what happens when you are stuck on a ride and had a in show exist with a bunch of stairs.
Cast members call emergency services to help evacuate those in a wheelchair or mobility issues.
Elbow grease, a can do attitude and a lot of muscle.
