I now understand why developers only interact with a select few content creators in the online gaming sphere. It’s like talking to a brick wall expecting a socratic seminar-it doesn’t work. The more distant and selective I am with the content I watch, the more appreciative I am of the medium of gaming. I finally can see why developers care more about the experience of the common consumer over the online fanatic nerds who hate everything.

I’m convinced a lot of people who complain about the industry don’t play video games or they have narrow tastes. AAA gaming has always been hit or miss. People can’t look for good shit at all. Their enjoyment is derived from complaining and arguing about the medium.

I game for myself and no one else. The toxicity seems to come more so from AAA $70 games. Helldivers is good for a 39.99 game which is a lower price than most AA games. I think at the lower price gamers will look past certain flaws. For a week or so the Helldivers servers were so full I couldn’t get into the game. If people paid $70-$100 for Helldivers there would have been all types of complaints. It’s a solid AA release that Sony spent AAA dollars on. Smaller devs have been out shining the big AAA devs this entire gen.

The gaming community is definitely cooked. If you say you like a game that everyone hates, you’re attacked and your credibility is questioned. You can never be a free thinker in this community, everyone wants you to be sheeps and share the same opinion. Don’t get me started with arm chair developers or people who “know” how to run a billion dollar company. These people are annoying, definitely not as knowledgeable as they claim.

I just started watching you videos, but I find it crazy how accurate this is. Yesterday I saw a video about Helldivers, and a guy in the comments said "it looks kinda boring". People were attacking him for having an opinion smh. I decided to step in. Now watching this video just really shows that this mindset is very apparent. I havnt played it but it looks mid & its $39.99, but maybe looks are deceiving but I was initially going to skip it & it's not at the top of my wishlist, regardless of hype.

The higher the lvl, the more crazier it gets. Plus compared most games today, your paying $40 instead of paying $70. All in all, I'd say keep tabs on it at the very least if you ever get it interested

The problem is multiplayer means live service in this era of video games and live srevice means long term support dedicating all resources of a studio on post launch support. they are actually making a lot of that right now...they just canceled a bunch of those live service games but there are still four or five project in development...also i don't think playstation players really want that much focus on live service games...another thing is when you have big multiplayer games like fortnite apex warzone on your platform the idea of exclusive multiplayer isn't really necessary

Honestly when Watch Dogs came out I was 16, and the PS4 didn't have much to play. I too would have given it a 9 out of 10 the first time I beat it. Hell, I remember watching your review and thinking, I agree!
