The Conti passing the RC was a pure gold moment. I have for years been a harsh critic of RE's engineering- but now I love them in amazement. What a machine! Cubic capacity deficit...I agree. But its giving credit where it's due. As mentioned, I used to borderline hate RE for their engineering and their momentum vis-a-vis their engine displacement. Like many others I would say "Ha 350cc, 500cc gets beaten by a 150cc motorcycle!" Now if I used to frantically criticize their engineering and performance- I believe now that they have improvement on these, they certainly deserve praise- and I haven't even brought the price point into the picture. Ask KTM or Kawasaki to manufacture a 600-700cc twin-pod motorcycle and sell it at similar cost- they won't or rather they can't. I have ridden a lot of motorcycles- a lot, I was a test rider for a couple of publications- have ridden from Activas to Aprilias and in my honest opinion for what the new 650cc twins offer- they're absolutely worth the praise. Now only if they could plonk that motor onto a reinforced Himalayan frame- I'd love to take that, unfortunately am not in India anymore.

It dosen't depend on the engine CC , Horsepower and power-to-weight raito is what needs to be looked at.
KTM 390's engine produces 43.5 PS where as RE's 650 engine produces 47 PS. KTM has the power-to-weight advantage(KTM=0.25438 , RE=0.2326), that's why its initial launch is good, where as the top end of the bike depends on the Hosepower, that's where RE moves ahead.
Gt650 and D390 are worth money and passion 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I got dominar back in 2017 for 1.80 lac abs version.
I'm happy w it, it costs around half of other bikes and still manages to keep up with them.
Best bike in it's budget (not segment) easy to maintain , no breakdowns cheap service, cheap parts. Just the best.

Both RE Sports and Roadster models defeated KTM Sports and Roadster model in top end performance.
Where RE has a cubic capacity and multi cylinder advantage, the KTMs have liquid cooled and light weight advantage.
But at the moment RE is providing the best package in comfort and performance.

There is no replacement of displacement.
RE continental GT 650 & ktm rc 390 fav.
The downside is u wont be going 160+ for long on gt650 coz it's not a stable bike as compared to rc390.
