Love this beginner series! I am looking to invest in Lego and loved how you not only talk about Price and Retirement date, but also how much you value some sets and quantity you buy/wanted to buy. Obviously everyone has different budgets for purchasing but hearing you talk about how much you bought or how much you want to buy gives insight on your investing thoughts, which is something I definitely need help with
Can you do a video on how to actually sell this Lego and what you do to package it and the costs of that for a beginner. Nobody ever talks about that and I think it would be a useful video to many people.
While purchase price is important, nothing compares to future demand, in shear profit potential. Predicting that, however, is the art. Purchase price quickly becomes a moot point when you check going rate on a case of a particular set and see that the price has trippled or better.
Hi Jack! First of all, congratulations for this channel , is one of the best channel on lego investing. Can you do in the future, the places you use to sell LEGO, and which places you recommend based on your experience? Thanks and congrats!
Hi Jack. I'm new to channel but some experience with Lego investing. It would be great to hear from you about how you analyse set price changes through their lifespan. And what is your basic tools for that. Cheers 😃 You have very good content, it's great to see real life cases and sets you buy 👍
Liked and Subscribed. Thanks for your videos. Don’t forget to mention using browser extensions to resale metric companies ( Rakuten, TCB). Also how to responsibly use credit card cash rewards cards to get 3.75-5.75% cash back and loyalty points programs like at Lego and Kohls cash. Also don’t forget that learning a retailers return/price match policy will save you a lot of $$$$$$. Avoid Barnesandnoble at all costs. Make a list of sources for finding Lego sets. Locally, regionally, nationally, internationally…. I am always learning and love your videos. Keep it up and set up a paywall for premium info, example above.
Just purchased 2 of the 42125 Technic Ferrari at 40% rrp in the UK as my first investment. Will see how it goes with this as tonwhether I then reinvest in more sets in the future. Keeping my fingers crossed I bought right
What a coincidence. After a great childhood i regained my interest in Lego 2 years ago. Two weeks ago i selected a set to keep and sell years later. So I can say i just started investing in Lego. Im curious for your advices. At the moment i have some you could say basics to choose sets. I look for good prices as well as how much potential there is for minifigs to increase the price. Also a very important factor in my opinion is that i prefer to pick sets i personally like so if the dont increase in resale price, I at least can be proud to have them in my collection.
Would it not be better just to apply to be a retailer and buy at trade prices sell sets on a day to day basis and then hold onto the sets that have investment potential? Making $20 a set with the risks of in some cases breaking even or selling at a loss with all of your overheads, inflation and time looks to me to be a difficult way of making money?
Hi Jake! Thanks so much for this extremely interesting video. Really appreciate if you could advise on reliable webs to check lego sets retirement dates. Thanks so much in advance.
wow the boxes behind U. look good. it's look like a home Lego shop .😊...one set I love to know if U got is. titanium Dragon. Ninjago or NRG dragon. 😊.or temple light set Ninjago or destiny bounty. 😊 first set or 2 nd one .😊..
Hey do you think its a good buy in price for the lamborghini sian i got 5 for 38% off? 260€ per car i thouth its good because the price go to 450€ in august
The new season should help its value increase but it’s had a hard plateau at around $300 for the last few months. I probably won’t be investing now because it is already retired
@@JakesBricks Where can I see a list of lego sets that are no longer being produced? Any website, I do not know, Application? I'm a little bad at English, sorry)
How much do you have to pay in taxes to sell Lego as a business? You talk about ROI a lot, but if you factor in income tax, you're making less so I was hoping you could address that. Thanks.
That’s a great point! Yes you do have to claim income tax each year and that does affect the bottom line. But I am certainly not making enough profit to live on… and I can write of business expenses. My tax person helps me a lot.

Thx Kevin!
Very informative video, just found the channel and eager to follow!
Right on thx!!!
I love your shirt Dwight Schrute 😂
Yes! Dwight is the best!!!
the term is 'augmented' reality (AR) for these Lego apps (like Pokemon Go) . VR is amazing and requires headsets. Very different technology.
Shoot you are right 🤦♂️! Thx for the correction!

Yes but LEGO is very very strict about who they wholesale too
Where does Lego post what sets will be retiring at the end of that year where can I find this information
On their website around october, november. The sets will say "retiring soon"

Brick fanatics is what I use! But they change regularly
@Jake’s Bricks Which shelf do you use for your investment sets? I have been wanting it for my investment sets and backlog sets. Please help.
Costco or Sam’s metal shelves

I have owned them all at some point but unfortunately don’t have them anymore. Sounds like you are a big Ninjago fan 😉
can I know retirement mean ? you will sell it to someone else or to lego store?
Retirement means that the set is discontinued and no longer produced by LEGO
Where you find discounted products? Do you think stock x is a good source?
Mostly just Amazon, target, Walmart. But the site I mentioned was zavvi.com. I have never ordered from stock x
Good info but Is anyone else distracted by the constant hand movements?
People tell me the this all the time. I can't help myself
Easy just buy a popular set and wait for it to retire in 3 years. Or go look for old 80s and 90s castle and space sets sealed. Good luck!
Easier said then done! But I like your style!
is there a board under your sets on your shelves or are they on metal wire shelves?
Thin board! They are muscle rack shelves
Hey do you think its a good buy in price for the lamborghini sian i got 5 for 38% off? 260€ per car i thouth its good because the price go to 450€ in august
Ya that’s great deal! Nice score
Im investing, however I'm looking at long term. 10 years at least from now.
💪💪💪 excited to check in with you in 10 years to see how much your sets are worth
What's your opinion on the stranger things upside down?
The new season should help its value increase but it’s had a hard plateau at around $300 for the last few months. I probably won’t be investing now because it is already retired
Is this also relevant to the uk and europe?
I would say yes! Although the markets are slightly different the principles should be universally true
Buy modular and ideas if you wanna make some money...
9/10 this is so true! But I got burned bad on the pet shop on my early days in LEGO investing
Everyone is doing that, so maybe not the best advice if you don't want to hold them for years LOL

Yikes Clint! Just expressing excitement that’s all 😬
Is ZAVVI any good? Ive read a loot that they are not trustworthy and people have issues with the products or getting refunds etc.
Getting a refund is challenging, shipping time is slow and sometimes boxes show up damaged. But the deals often make it worth it.
